lol. I think Moshe Rabeinu was a nanach. because if you take the gematria of Moshe Rabbeinu and divide it by itself, and then multiply by 58 you get the gematria of Nach.
The reason why Satmar Hasidim speak Yiddish is that they regard Hebrew as a very holy language one used to read the Torah with and not everyday kinda talk
I was in Eretz Israel just recently; because I was not wearing a head covering, I was hit on the arms by these kids...and water was t hrown down at me from a 2nd floor bldg. They have t his eruv connection about "us" coming in...and they attack on the way.
I told a few furry hat guys: "Hey! Look at what your children are doing!" They did not give a hoot. Crazy people.
Hillul Hashem? Look at the teachings of Rabbi Kahane, open his Sefer "Or' Harayon" and open the Chummash. See who advocates more to what G-d says in the Torah, Rabbi Kahane or the Satmer.
Satmar is a holy organization and they promote Torah and Mitzvos and Kiddush Hashem. On the other hand, there is the JTF which is a chillul Hashem and promotes hate.
He was and is a great hero. He killed the terrorists saving his family and community from the terrorists, and did and was willing to sacrifice himself in order to save Jews. You on the other hand are the real Hillul Hash-m. Look at it this way which Jew makes a hillul or Kiddush Hashem- the Jew who defends his family, land and people or the one that goes to the gas chamber having nazis curse G-d and say to themselves is this what G-d does to his Chosen people? -Jewish victory is Kiddush Hashem!
Wow this guy is amazing. NOT. How in the world would Moshe Rabbeinu have been a chossid?! Chassidm have only been around for a few hundred years!? lol
Not necessarily. Who says Moshe Rabbeinu walked into the Mishkan standing completely straight? I know a Chabad Rabbi who's 6'8," and, with a hat on, he has to duck down a bit at almost every door, and yet he still manages to get through all of them.
And, second of all, a flat hat is still going to add a little bit of height, even if it's only a few millimeters...
We see in Midrash that Moshe Rebbeinu entered Paros palace, the door posts rose so that Moshe would not have to bow down to paro who was a G-d of egypt.
However, for the mishkan, one would bow before Hashem. You bring a very good point.
But the point still stands. The Plotige Bibur adds next to nothing.
I thought this video was hillarious. I fail to see why there's still people who don't understand the joke and instead have to revert to Satmar bashing insults.
im not religious myself but I have chabad friends and I was brought up religious but, isnt the whole point of being a religious jew about Moshiach? it is. I know it and you do.
your an idiot. I know lots of chabadniks as you call themand, they do beleive the rebbe is moshiach but, why does that bother you so much? You dont like that they have so much faith in the man that pretty much brought judaism to America and then the world? what exactly is it that bothers you about their beleif? and what proof do you have that the lubavitcher rebbe, who I think was the most real lubavitcher or Chabadnik as you like to call them, is not moshiach?
"what proof do you have that the lubavitcher rebbe, who I think was the most real lubavitcher or Chabadnik as you like to call them, is not moshiach?"
He is dead.
And the majority of Chabad does not have this belief.
And there were Tzaddikim and kihillos here before he came to America. And he also established Chabad headquarters at the same time that bobov was, and the same time that Satmar and many other kehillos did, so it is not true that he brought yiddishkeit here.
you are wrong but, I have better things to do with my time now. and most lubavitchers do beleif his moshiach and why do you say "dovid melech yisroel chai vikayam"? isnt he dead? your IQ and common sense seems quite low.
You are the one who says that moshiach can be dead! What is the difference between this and Yushke? Chabad is going nowhere unless they reject this avodah zorah.
in my opinion I dont lke sotmer. they start fights in brooklyn over thier opinions over shabbat. they are judgemental and they attack people. I like the Lubavitch, they are holy and I trust in them to teach, although I disagree with the moshiach concept of thier rebbe
you know, is very difficult to be tolerant when you care! Satmar change judaism in America because they cared so much about jewish values that they became "intolerant" to those who wanted to change them. with Luvavitch almost anything goes they are tolerant to non-religious jews but despise and are far from religious jews that are not Luvavitch. I have seen first hand how Satmar although cautious is more tolerant to all jews. however you cant blame them for being cautious. Thank G-d for Satmar!!
"What is weird is how hasids live off there wives work, this is against the Torah."
The Satmar Ruv never started a Kollel system except to train Dayanim because he felt it caused a mix up of the Torah order of family.
"Not speaking Hebrew is paganism"
You don't speak Hebrew. You speak an invented language. BTW, ever read the gemorah? The Amoraim spoke Aremaic as the lingua franca. Chasam Sofer says it was always like that, and that Loshon HaKodesh was the language of ritual and navua.
It was common in pre war europe for women to be bread winners for the family, so that the Men can devote themselves to Torah. This is not Satmar, not Belz, not Teman, this is everyone! You find this everywhere. Even the Gras wife worked, his Mother worked to support her husband in Torah Study!
Satmars are some of the holiest Jews in the world.
how could you say that . what make them more holyer then me , trust me i love satmers well some and i have nothing agents them but please dotn say that people get turned of very fast with statment like that .
To say Moshe was a Satmar is just as stupid as Muslims saying Moshe was a Muslim. Satmar did not exist back then and if he was here today he would likely be cursing the Satmar for not speaking Hebrew and encouraging fornication and you know exactly what I'm talking about. Anyways look at how Satmar behave in Kiryas Joel cheating the government and driving there neighbors crazy who welcomed them to the neighborhood. All they do is give us a bad name and create anti semitism.
The only reason satmar have enemies is because they go against the Torah and choose to screw the locals and the government which makes people hate them. If they lived by the Torah people would be comming to them for there knowledge. Why do you think so many Satmar are becomming Modern Orthodox or living secret unkosher lives? You see them in the bars and other places they should not be.
he kept everyone here....sephardis, ashkenazi, and yemen...and kurdish, and egyptians, and syrians? your point? moses was not a satmar, u seem stupid saying he was...please ur disgracing the satmars that have some knowledge in torah
i can agree satmars are some of the holiest jews in the world...and they are keeping us alive in torah..which i thank you, but if you just had love for israel and undertsanding our achdus would make us impossible to destroy.
you fool, lashon kodesh is hebrew, hebrew is just more slangy....learn something please. you satmars are so confused. you need to wakeup and start understanding outside of the box you live in...the correct way of reading is also the targum, just like the did in ancient days when shlomo was king...its a tradition past down. trust me its more official than the way you read the taamim, moses cant be a satmar, your taamim are not correct.
helping an old man that is on the road carry his bags, just because he isnt as religious as he is....and this video is rediculous, the old chassidim were much diffrent than today, as you see in mesechtas bruchos. moshe rabeinu was a cananni, not any satmar/karta/european nonsence that you think, plus you satmars dont read targum which was an old tradition to do, which only yemenites keep to.
listen, if you think your a tzadick you would like (Olmert) the erev rav just as much as you like any other jew...because in a second he could reach a higher level in shamayim than you worked on your whole life...second of all, chassidim do not accept all yiddim, they still have the sinat chinam that neturei kartas have, i can agree with you they are talmud scholars...they sit in beis medrash all day, but they tofel baikar, they will make sure a small halacha is going right, rather than
moshe couldnt be a satmar...he liked the whole bnei israel unlike most satmars and neturei kartas. .....so moshe must have been either sephardic or yemen decendent, i can promise u he wasnt white like most the satmars nowadays and he did not wear a stremelach...lets get real now u fool. i study in beis medrash gavoah, dont talk this type of nonsnce and please be humble if you are a "chassid"
it seems pretty clear to me this isn't definitive prove that moshe was a satmar. there are still many satmarers who don't wear the frisby hats. there are other hungarian sects who wear them. i've even seen many poilishe yidden wear the frisby hats...though moshe probably didn't wear a spodik so we can probably rule out the polishe chasidim. i never even knew breslovers wore the frisby hats.
khas vasholem! moshe definitely wasn't of sephardic descent!! how can you even suggest it!?!?! moshe rubbeinu was most certainly fluent in yiddish.
there's nothing wrong with neturei karta! yes maybe a few rotten knishes did some stupid things attending conferences and funerals they shouldn't have, but that shouldn't destroy the reputation of a very pious group of people who care very much about the jewish people.
Who said Moshe wore a hat? Rather He was Sefaradi. In the first place, his name wasn't Moishele Ravinovitz. Secondly, he was born in Egypt (a Sephardic country). Thirdly, he did Teshuva for 40 days, not a week.
He was not sephardic. There was no distinction between Jews at that time. I do get your point that he didn't were a hat like the satmar. Most Egyptian joins are ethnically Mizrachi and not Sephardic.
"Most Egyptian joins are ethnically Mizrachi and not Sephardic."
The word Mizrachi used like this is an Israeli invention. Before Ivrit Sefardi ment those who followed the halakhah according to the system developed in the yeshivas of Al Adulas (Sefarad.) Ashkenazi ment those who did according to what was taught in the yeshivas of Germany (Ashkenaz).
The differences weren't ethnic, or even geographic, though they followed roughly geographic lines.
Reb Yoshi: You are correct that the literal translation of Satu Mare is "large place" or "large village." However, the name was also traditionally interpreted as "Saint Mary" as well. Look it up.
Not sure where you get Saint Mary ... in Romanian it would be Sfinta Maria. Yes, i know that many places in Transylvania have Hungarian names and Hungarian speakers, but Satu Mare is a Romanian name that means, as rebyoshi stated, large town. You could look it up.
Wikipedia: There is a folk etymology, repeated both among members of Satmar itself, as well in outside literature about the group, that Satu Mare actually meant "Saint Mary." Some Hasidim - even Satmar Hasidim - called the town "Sakmer" so as not to use its allegedly "pagan" name. This folk story is however slowly disappearing, and the vast majority of people now use the name "Satmar".
I am NOT from the Chassidic world, and I have heard more ridiculous "arguments" than this one..so I honest to G-d wasn't sure if it was a joke or not. I listened to it two or three times, and then made out the "hats" thing..at which point I got it. Sorry..I'm clearly a dolt. :)
I think Mambo has it right... If Moshe was a Satmar, we would find more Satmars that are 10 amos tall. ;-)
Dako, stop ruining our fun... we are having a good time taking this guy seriously. Plus I think you are just bitter that Moshe was a Breslover. Na Nach Nachman M'Uman!
I can't believe how many of you all are missing the point of this clip. This is the work of a COMIC GENIUS and is one of the funniest things I have seen in years. Lighten up, folks, and laugh at this gentle humor. 5ENECA, I look forward to more of your enjoyable videos. Kol HaKovod!
Yes, its funny; the guy sounds like Yogi Bear. But I seriously don't think he's joking. Believe it or not, this kind of shtuss actually passes for scholarship in some circles. He is what you might call an armchair rabbi. He's merely aping the rabbonim of his yeshivah, thinking that by doing so he attains some of their intelligence. But, it doesn't pass the smell test. Funny, yes. Scholarly, no.
Satmars are from Satu Mare in Romania, which means "Saint Mary." Now explain to me why Moshe Rabbeynu would have anything to do with an Xian saint let alone claim to be from anyplace named after an Xian saint.
Enough "ad hominem" remarks... let's talk about the issue. 1. Moshe Rabeinu practiced hisbodedus, so this points to being a Breslov.
2. If he was a Satmar, he would have had to find felt and beaver skin to make his hat - impossible! So clearly they must have chosen the knitted hats of the Breslovers.
3. In the desert there are many desert storms, which would have knocked off Satmar hats. The Breslov kippas stick on during such storms. Clearly Moshe was a BRESLOVER!!
Wow, this guy makes a great argument. He makes such rational, logical, and well thought through points. He says that "Moshe Rabeinu could not have been a misnagid because he just couldn't, there's just no vay." Wow, what an intellectualist we have here. I would definitely want him to be my lawyer. There's just no vay he would lose a case. I've never seen such a person raise such great points to defend his arguments. (I was being sarcastic)
This fellow is so ignorant it is really, really frightening. Chassidus was invented in the 1700s, I don't understand why someone would devote so much time and energy for something which is so obviously untrue. He could be learning. But of course he would not do that, he is a chossid.
Here is a proof he was not a satmarer chossid--he know all of the Torah and never went to arkaos akum.
Poor loser, that's the best you can do? Someone emailed me this post and I responded. I would go so far as to say I am miles over Aroney and Zallie, too--individuals who the Mechaber would called reshoim because of what they did. Ferd.

Satmar is a great Chassidus. The Jewish Task Force is a perversion of Judaism, AND of Rabbi Kahane's teachings for that matter.
EitanK770 3 years ago
Hillul Hashem? Look at the teachings of Rabbi Kahane, open his Sefer "Or' Harayon" and open the Chummash. See who advocates more to what G-d says in the Torah, Rabbi Kahane or the Satmer.

EitanK770 3 years ago
oooo
We see in Midrash that Moshe Rebbeinu entered Paros palace, the door posts rose so that Moshe would not have to bow down to paro who was a G-d of egypt.
However, for the mishkan, one would bow before Hashem. You bring a very good point.
But the point still stands. The Plotige Bibur adds next to nothing.

malush181 3 years ago
That is why you don't go to satmar to be religious. go to Modern Orthodox or Chabad, just avoid those messianic nut jobs
steve1a5 3 years ago
im not religious myself but I have chabad friends and I was brought up religious but, isnt the whole point of being a religious jew about Moshiach? it is. I know it and you do.
gwolf77 3 years ago
Moshiach is a fundamental part of Judaism, but not appointing false messiahs.
REAL chabadniks are not messianic (i.e. believe the rebbe is the messiah).
5enecan 3 years ago
your an idiot. I know lots of chabadniks as you call themand, they do beleive the rebbe is moshiach but, why does that bother you so much? You dont like that they have so much faith in the man that pretty much brought judaism to America and then the world? what exactly is it that bothers you about their beleif? and what proof do you have that the lubavitcher rebbe, who I think was the most real lubavitcher or Chabadnik as you like to call them, is not moshiach?
gwolf77 3 years ago
"what proof do you have that the lubavitcher rebbe, who I think was the most real lubavitcher or Chabadnik as you like to call them, is not moshiach?"
He is dead.
And the majority of Chabad does not have this belief.
And there were Tzaddikim and kihillos here before he came to America. And he also established Chabad headquarters at the same time that bobov was, and the same time that Satmar and many other kehillos did, so it is not true that he brought yiddishkeit here.
5enecan 3 years ago
you are wrong but, I have better things to do with my time now. and most lubavitchers do beleif his moshiach and why do you say "dovid melech yisroel chai vikayam"? isnt he dead? your IQ and common sense seems quite low.
gwolf77 3 years ago
You are the one who says that moshiach can be dead! What is the difference between this and Yushke? Chabad is going nowhere unless they reject this avodah zorah.

Because Rambam specifically says that Moshiach can't be killed (NOT that he can't die). Yoshka was killed, the Rebbe was not.
EitanK770 3 years ago
in my opinion I dont lke sotmer. they start fights in brooklyn over thier opinions over shabbat. they are judgemental and they attack people. I like the Lubavitch, they are holy and I trust in them to teach, although I disagree with the moshiach concept of thier rebbe
ephrayimlevi 3 years ago
you know, is very difficult to be tolerant when you care!

All they do is give us a bad name and create anti semitism.
steve1a5 4 years ago
two things! 1)shup up!2)we have enough enemies we don't need you!
violinistapr 4 years ago
The only reason satmar have enemies is because they go against the Torah and choose to screw the locals and the government which makes people hate them. If they lived by the Torah people would be comming to them for there knowledge. Why do you think so many Satmar are becomming Modern Orthodox or living secret unkosher lives? You see them in the bars and other places they should not be.

you fool, lashon kodesh is hebrew, hebrew is just more slangy....learn something please. you satmars are so confused. you need to wakeup and start understanding outside of the box you live in...the correct way of reading is also the targum, just like the did in ancient days when shlomo was king...its a tradition past down. trust me its more official than the way you read the taamim, moses cant be a satmar, your taamim are not correct.
Mikuzaki 4 years ago
Please don't call me a fool.
I know exactly what loshen Kodesh is. it is Not aramaic.
Targum is Aramaic.
Moshe did not speak Aramaic. Therefore we see he did not read Targum. which we conclude he was not Temani.
5enecan 4 years ago
helping an old man that is on the road carry his bags, just because he isnt as religious as he is....and this video is rediculous, the old chassidim were much diffrent than today, as you see in mesechtas bruchos. moshe rabeinu was a cananni, not any satmar/karta/european nonsence that you think, plus you satmars dont read targum which was an old tradition to do, which only yemenites keep to.

listen, if you think your a tzadick you would like (Olmert) the erev rav just as much as you like any other jew...because in a second he could reach a higher level in shamayim than you worked on your whole life...second of all, chassidim do not accept all yiddim, they still have the sinat chinam that neturei kartas have, i can agree with you they are talmud scholars...they sit in beis medrash all day, but they tofel baikar, they will make sure a small halacha is going right, rather than
Mikuzaki 4 years ago
moshe couldnt be a satmar...he liked the whole bnei israel unlike most satmars and neturei kartas. .....so moshe must have been either sephardic or yemen decendent, i can promise u he wasnt white like most the satmars nowadays and he did not wear a stremelach...lets get real now u fool. i study in beis medrash gavoah, dont talk this type of nonsnce and please be humble if you are a "chassid"
Mikuzaki 4 years ago
Probably a Zionist Beis Medrash!
Moshe WAS a Satmar. We gave you the Facts.
And do not associate Satmar with Neturei Karta again! Neturei Karta are not even Chassidishe.
5enecan 4 years ago
it seems pretty clear to me this isn't definitive prove that moshe was a satmar. there are still many satmarers who don't wear the frisby hats. there are other hungarian sects who wear them. i've even seen many poilishe yidden wear the frisby hats...though moshe probably didn't wear a spodik so we can probably rule out the polishe chasidim. i never even knew breslovers wore the frisby hats.
oblonsky 4 years ago
khas vasholem! moshe definitely wasn't of sephardic descent!! how can you even suggest it!?!?! moshe rubbeinu was most certainly fluent in yiddish.
there's nothing wrong with neturei karta! yes maybe a few rotten knishes did some stupid things attending conferences and funerals they shouldn't have, but that shouldn't destroy the reputation of a very pious group of people who care very much about the jewish people.
oblonsky 4 years ago
Who said Moshe wore a hat? Rather He was Sefaradi. In the first place, his name wasn't Moishele Ravinovitz. Secondly, he was born in Egypt (a Sephardic country). Thirdly, he did Teshuva for 40 days, not a week.
JasonJSimanowitz 4 years ago
He was not sephardic. There was no distinction between Jews at that time. I do get your point that he didn't were a hat like the satmar. Most Egyptian joins are ethnically Mizrachi and not Sephardic.
jsuprez 4 years ago
"Most Egyptian joins are ethnically Mizrachi and not Sephardic."
The word Mizrachi used like this is an Israeli invention. Before Ivrit Sefardi ment those who followed the halakhah according to the system developed in the yeshivas of Al Adulas (Sefarad.) Ashkenazi ment those who did according to what was taught in the yeshivas of Germany (Ashkenaz).
The differences weren't ethnic, or even geographic, though they followed roughly geographic lines.

Not sure where you get Saint Mary ... in Romanian it would be Sfinta Maria. Yes, i know that many places in Transylvania have Hungarian names and Hungarian speakers, but Satu Mare is a Romanian name that means, as rebyoshi stated, large town. You could look it up.
sashanicky 4 years ago
Wikipedia: There is a folk etymology, repeated both among members of Satmar itself, as well in outside literature about the group, that Satu Mare actually meant "Saint Mary." Some Hasidim - even Satmar Hasidim - called the town "Sakmer" so as not to use its allegedly "pagan" name. This folk story is however slowly disappearing, and the vast majority of people now use the name "Satmar".

Yes, its funny; the guy sounds like Yogi Bear. But I seriously don't think he's joking. Believe it or not, this kind of shtuss actually passes for scholarship in some circles. Funny, yes. Scholarly, no.

Mambovista, do you speak Hungarian? No. Obviously.
Satu Mara is a village in the ethnic Hungarian part of Romania. It mean Satu (province) Mara (big). The towns name is literally Large Place.
rebyoshi 4 years ago
Enough "ad hominem" remarks... let's talk about the issue. 1. Moshe Rabeinu practiced hisbodedus, so this points to being a Breslov.
2. If he was a Satmar, he would have had to find felt and beaver skin to make his hat - impossible! So clearly they must have chosen the knitted hats of the Breslovers.
3. In the desert there are many desert storms, which would have knocked off Satmar hats. The Breslov kippas stick on during such storms. Clearly Moshe was a BRESLOVER!!
thedeeman 4 years ago 2
Breslovers don't go in just yarmulkes. They wear a poilishe hat like the Gerrer Hasidim or the beeber, like what this gentleman is talking about.
your thinking of Na NAchers, who usually have no connection to a traditional Breslov community.
Check out pictures of Michel Dorgman or Yaakov Meir Shecheter.

One question: Ohr Sameach or Aish?
Aaron Kotler cried when the Satmar Rov was nifter because there was nobody left like him, but you know he was "obviously wrong."
Do you know who the Satmar Rav was?
Before he was the Satar Rov he was the illui of Sighet.
He was a dayan on the day of his barmitzva, and rabbonim would stand for him from the time he was 3.
The town of Satu Mare invited him to be the Rav. It was not a chasidische town.
