no doubt that madhubala was the greatest beuty of indian screen and lata's voice will never be created in this world, but we should also give credit to khemchan prakash for its composotion and nakhshab jarchawi for the high class URDU poetry.
One of my all time favourite Lata mangeshkar songs.khemchand prakash's best composition ever... too good, listen to this song as many times.DILKHUSH ho jaata hai,.
I WONDER HOW MANY KNOW THAT MADHUBALA WAS BORN IN BHERA, A ONCE A MILITARY BASE OF SULTAN MAHMUD GHAZNAVI AT THE BANK OF RIVER JEHLUM (Dist SARGODHA), PAKISTAN.
Aspects of MADHUBALA are unique and SIXTH SENSE. Can't explain. All about her is in the eyes & mind of beholders. I like India most for THIS BEAUTIFUL LADY MADHUBALA (name sound very pleasant too) who was born in this country. Made the country proud. Will there be another MADHUBALA, I doubt very much because That's the BEAUTY OF ALMIGHTY, OUR CREATOR WHO GOT THE ABILITY TO INDIVIDUALIZE HIS CREATIONS. Each CREATION IS UNIQUE. Please pray for this beautiful lady to be forgiven for her legacy.
MADHUBALA-----what a wonderful beauty-----and then this beautiful ghazal , with proofound human emotions. Wonderfully wonderful----and beautifully beautiful.
All songs of MAHAL sung BY LATA ,recorded by the name KAMLA as singer.(kamla is heroine name ie Madhubala in film.the 78 rpm records shows KAMLA as singer.
Voice like that of Lata ji will not be heard on this earth again.God give Lata ji a long life. She has enlightened our hearts and minds by her golden voice
Thanks Divyeshbhai, This is the song for which I fanatically searched but could not get it.Very happy to hear this song. This song is my very favourite one of early 50s.
Mushkil hai bahut mushkil chahat ka bhula dena........... how true aur agar pehli muhabbat hai to phir dard ka mut poocho....... you can feel this in latajees voice and madhubala's facial expressions.
I agree entirely, 'Buttegowda'. The secret is in the Raag that this composition is primarily based on - Pahadi - which is a soulful, poignant melody. Truly mesmerising. Thanx, Kitaabik.
This is one song which really haunts me ... I consider this song better than Ayega aane wala in many ways . The way in which Latha sings ... there is nothing that can match it. Thanks to KhemchanPrakash for composing this number.
used 2 listen on all india radio n radio ceylone SLBC in my childhood. what a magic composition of khemchand pakash. salutes 2 his talents. equally is the latajis honey sweet rendered voice making the song immortal n memorable for the future generations.
Today, neither there are like composers, nor lyricists, nor directors, nor such picturisation and see the simplicity of actors so actual so living. Today's bollywood is shit before such golden era.
all my friends...u all r right...magic song from lata..khemchand prakash...nakshab..but one more interesting thing in this song is...whole song picturised in one shott...see carefully once song start no second shott.. AMAZING ...
A most wonderful piece of music by Khemchand Prakash, am unforgettable gift of intense emotional value to mankind carrying with a very difficult to achieve balance of microtones of Indian classical music supported by Western operatic style of singing. Truly brilliant achievement by Khemchand Prakash who left us so soon after leaving this beautiful memory to remember him.
These days artificial people have grabbed the industry. They just want money no mater what way it comes. They are not artists, that is why they are failed to produce any classic. Usually they take use nudity and valgarity to catch the people.Infact to sell their product and this way they make money which the easiest way.
bahut hee sesational song sung by bharat rattan " Melody Queen Lata jee " sunkat dil dehal uthta hai aur purani yadain taza ho jatee hai. itnee mithas hai ki dil main ek ajeeb mastee chha jatee hai aur bar bar sunnain ka dil karta hai.thanks for malodious uploads.
what a great old sweet song. ashok kumar sahab looks great and young in this song.laajawab janab. thanks for posting this zabardast song, this is aman dayani from toronto canada.
This song is also one of the jewels in Hindi film songs!!how touching is lyric and so sweet melody!! i get plesing shudder in teh bodyh when lsiten this!!
all true but gentlemen don't forget the man behind this melody. Mr. Khemchand Prakash who was the music director and who deserves the credit for all what is given to Lata and Madhubala
Indeed, KP was among the greatest of all Bombay composers. Others from that period whose quality work stands out were Roshan,Pankaj Mullick, Ghulam Mohammad, Sajjad, Madan Mohan,Naushad, Khayyam,Shankar-Jaikishen,C. Ramchandra, Salil Choudhary, S.D. Burman,Hemant Kumar,Anil Biswas,Ravi, Chitragupta, and O.P. Nayyar. Lata, Asha,Suman,Sudha,Geeta, Rafi, Mukesh,Talat, Kishore, Mahendra Kapoor and other singers could not have risen to their heights but for them. What a treasure!
Johnk49 ..you are so right i just got chill down my spine n goosebumbps all over .... im all dumbfounded ... it was my fave song from the age 9-10 even before i guess i knew Madhubala's name...Thnx for the vid...
Lataji sang this and other Mahal classics at age 20. She achieved perfection that early and has stayed at the summit ever since. As for the much beloved Madhubala, she was a sweet 16 in this movie and gave us a foretaste of her versatile talents yet to unfold . What a precious duo! Many thanks , Kitaabik , for sharing your collection so generously. I am delighted to see a young person of refined taste like you show such admirable interest in Bollywood classics.

Uljhan hai bohat phir bhi hum tum ko na bhulain ge
Mumkin to nahin laikin tum hum ko bhula dena
It is very difficult though, we shall not forget you
It is not possible though, you try to forget us
Two classic lines written by poet Nakhshab.

It is surprising that Madhubala was only 15/16 years old when she acted in this movie. She reportedly received Rs. 25000 for her role.

Story written by Kamal Amrohi was originally titled " Haveli " but was picturised under the name " Mahal ".

Both Lata and Madhubala were equally beautiful.Lata's beauty was her voice and Madhubala was beautiful by her appearance.
