the machines seem basic but to the point for me, but just a question, why would you run with wires hanging around? i mean im just going by the video. testing is testing i get it i took chances to, but the wire could have been snagged right? whos fault is that really tho? anyways hope you got it all fixed and having fun!
@irishkendoll Thanks for the comment. The wire the run the side rail motors don't move so they would not be in danger of being snagged. In addition that is how TM sends the machine. Since we had just recently purchased the machine we had not secured and finalized the install. Shortly after posting this video all of the connectors were changed wires shortend and secured. The machine has been working great. Thanks for the comment.
@JonesysAutoClub ah. well that certainly crappy fif they sent like that, glad its working great now. what was the cost of the machine, i never got pricing from the, etc..
This is a great machine for what it is intended to do and that is small one item jobs and prototyping. If you are thinking about buying one just know that it takes a long time to set up, it does not come with a table and it is not robust. It is really a hobby machine. With that said I have squared it several times, replaced all the motor connectors, and locked it into position by tack welding it to the yellow frame. Since then it has been trouble free and is great for my business.
Really good video. Good advise as well. I'm considering one of these machines BUT if it's built with those cheap connectors I may just not get it. Thanks for taking the time to post this.
First off I think it is a great machine but needs some refinement. The rails don't stay square and the torch height adjuster does not stay tight and secure. I also assure you the wires did not snag on anything as the motors on the side rails don't move. I should shoot another video showing how I fixed the bad crimp shortened and secured the wires. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment as it seems to have gotten you fired up.
What a DA.... How can you blame this on TM when you have the wires hanging all over the place? "It WAS working fine! Then after the loose wire (that I didn't tie up cause I'm an idiot) snagged on something when the X-axis jogged over and snatched the connector loose, it just stopped working for some reason?!?!?!"
"Now I have to go on Youtube, and crap on this company, because I'm very careless..."
Yeah we have had a few problems like this with the 2x2. It is not as robust a machine as they would like you to believe. With that said it is still a great addition to the shop and will be a gateway to a larger more heavy duty machine. Thanks for the comment.
Thanks for that I will keep it in mind

Not surprising given the way wires just hang all over the thing. How much do a few tie wraps cost?

It blows my mind that they just let those wires hand down and snag on everything. They should be tied off from the factory
