  • Love that whistle!!!

  • The whistle on this thing is just harmonious, I beleive it is a 3- chime whistle.

  • Good video, but I still wonder why B&SV uses a Chinese engine when other American steamers are/were available.

  • @trainmanj the railroad has been facing tough money problems. and the cheapest steamer to get was a chinese steamer plus strasburg 475 was in boone before but was sold to strasburg and the B&SVR had only a really messed up african railways 2-8-0

  • I can't believe Kate Shelly crawled across the Des Moines River bridge in a huge storm to save a passenger train from flying into Honey Creek where the bridge washed away further up the line. Read the story, Heroic woman right there.

  • Its very interesting that it has a bell, and a 3chimr. One time I went to the China Railway Museum in Beijing and one of its steam locomotives has a bell.

  • Good observation. I'm not sure if it came from China with the bell, or if it was added by the good folks at the B&SV.

  • @jterry618 NYS&W 142 had its bell added after it came to the US.

  • Very nice.

  • Awesome video,great job,fantastic and awesome steam train 5*****

  • Great compilation - 5* Thanks for sharing. What year was the loco built?

    Mike

  • 1988 - its our "newest" locomotive!

  • The RR acquired the locomotive in 1989, it was built the previous year. Believe it or not, it's our newest locomotive!
