I do agree though that if they went to top speed the supra prob would have blown the doors off the escort. Plus it handles way better.

Lets clear a few things up. This is an Escort RS Cosworth for the the European sector of Ford.
It is a 2.0 16v Turbocharged 4wd car producing approx 220BHP in standard from.
It could do 0-60 in less than 6 seconds and go on to do over 140 MPH. It doesn't even share the same chassis as the Escort, it was based on the underpinning from the Sierra Cosworth.
Its not uncommon for these to produce over 600BHP and I have personally seen a tuned one reach 0-60 in less than 3 seconds.

Easilly £400 000 will have gone into the preperation of that. Skylines happily run 1200 bhp for a mere £100 000

If you want to compare the 2jz or rb26 to that little yb then they are simply in two different classes Inline 4 vs inline 6. I would hope the extra 2 cyl's would make more usable power, but this video says otherwise.

I can get an American V8 for a fraction of the £100 000 cost that makes a lot more power and is just as reliable if not more reliable. plus it will have a nice broad torque curve not just the peaky HP that the skylines and supras make.

I have a friend at work with the older R33 gts25t skyline a nice turbo and a little work done to it. We are taking it and an RX8 with a little work to the nurburgring here in a few weeks. I cant wait to put some laps in with both of them.

@gu81singh Your smoking crack if you think that a supra and skyline motor are better than a cosworth. that little 4 banger can hold over 1200 hp and will spank a supra and run just as well if not better than a skyline on a road course. I've seen them that could beat skylines with similar mods no problem on the drag strip. and as for supras the vid speaks for itself. All that with 2 less cylinders. And racing from a roll is for ricer fags that cant launch. HP is no good if ya cant use it. AWDFTW!

We love these vids because there very rare.. Supras have a lot going for them. The driveline, the engine. So when we see one getting beat by a car we like, we get very excited, but, in this video, the guy in the Supra seemed to have decided just to do a massive burn out for half the legnth of the run..

I dont get angry, i work with jap cars all day long and i know there potentials, just my choice of car and i stand by that, only ever had one other car and that was a golf.

No it isn't that hard, all you need to do is ditch the shitty 175bhp 2.3 single overhead cam non intercooled turbo engine for a decent engine, ditch the weak type 9 gearbox that cant handle more than 200lb.ft torque find a limited slip diff from somewhere and you are nearly there.. let me know how you get on.

@sdubgti Look up standard specs. of the 2JZ... Forged internals=Stock! Metal head gasket = stock. The list goes on. Toyota were clearly wasted when they decided to mass produce the 2JZ for us to drive. Its a serious engine, which you dont see very often. The Cosworth is great, but the 2JZ would be better.
