The Red Baron was defeated because of a stupid mistake that only novice pilots do. What a shame ... but he was a great pilot anyway.

@MotoscuterZ He made several mistakes and was shot down once and wounded in other engagement. Third occasion became a fatal one.
He broke the rule, which he wrote himself in his "Code of Fighter Pilot".
I guess the syndrom of "the best" plaied its role, making him to forget a necessary caution.
