@philip78, the word 'malista' in 1 Tim 4:10 does indeed mean especially. The greek word for 'only' or 'exclusively' is monos, which is not used in this passage. I hope this helps.

Funny how they say universal salvation is the devil's doctrine, when they think that God will actually fail in his will, and he succeeding is just devil doctrine.. think about it. I did not take it as an insult. No apology needed. I was agreeing with you about the pride thing and offering a real-life example to support your statement.
Here's why it matters to me, whether people believe in eternal torment or not: God is all wise, all powerful, and all loving. If He was outsmarted by evil, unable or unwilling to accomplish His purpose, then God's name is defamed. I don't reject the ending of the parable, my friend. I reject the mistranslation of the word Greek word aionios. Your "everlasting" is actually age-abiding. Big difference. One allows for hope of redemption. The other doesn't. Tell me, what Bible do you read? Have you ever studied the history of Bible translation? Do you know who translated the Bible you use and what motivations they had to translate certain passages in certain ways? Take the time to answer each one of these questions.
Check out 1 Peter 1:3&4, 1 Corinthians 15:42, 51-54 and 2 Timothy 1:10 for proof that the life given to us does not end because it cannot be corrupted. Look up the Greek words. You will notice that aion or aionios are not used there. The words akataluton, amarantos and amarantinos, aphtharto, and athanasian are used to indicate immortality and such, but these words are never used to describe punishment. Short answer: I am not saying there is no such thing as eternal life.

Those who say things like "Universalists reject Christ in favor of an imaginary savior" should really look at the savior that THEY believe in.
They believe in a savior who is TRYING, or WANTS, to save everybody, but CAN'T.
Or, they believe in a savior who COULD save everybody, but chose not to.
Universalism believes in a Savior who CAME to save everybody and WILL.
Which savior sounds more "imaginary" to you?
