Operation market garden wasn't a D-day landing. It was the name for the invasion of holland. That we (The U.S) lost because the Germans dumped All their SS panzer divisions and Fallshcirmjaegers into Holland.
And what country might you be from? Because our tactics were Actually good. We fooled the germans into thinking we were attacking Calais so they moved All of their tanks and most of their infantry into Calais and Away from the Atlantic wall leaving 5 to 10 thousand troops there.

Im an Australian and during WW2 i dont no if you have heard about it but Australia fought its first battle where their troops were under their own control in papua niugini on a mountain trail called Kokoda. the australians had some 5000 men the japs had 30000. America cam in half way through with another 20000 troops.
@badababoopi of these 20000 troops 2000 were lost and they americans drew back to the ships and left before the enemy got close. they left the 5000 australian troops to the japs. the importance of this war was to save australia from being taken over by the japs. off the 5000 troops we lost between 2500 - 3500. the remaining australians managed to push them out and capture one of their transport ships so they could get home with out trecking back across the kokoda track

Ive been militery modeling for near 30 yrs...and i MUST say that d day landing diarama would be in my top 3 as too all time diaramas...just perfection at its best...take into account at just all the building putting men and machines together...then the scenery, water, its simply perfect...i salute all involved.....truly a piece of art....
My thing to build is TANK'S ! it takes me a while like maybe a month but this is out of this world . Who ever did this took alot of time and and did it right . I'm guesing it took about ayear to complete !

Operation market garden wasn't a D-day landing. It was the name for the invasion of holland. That we (The U.S) lost because the Germans dumped All their SS panzer divisions and Fallshcirmjaegers into Holland.

And what country might you be from? Because our tactics were Actually good. We fooled the germans into thinking we were attacking Calais so they moved All of their tanks and most of their infantry into Calais and Away from the Atlantic wall leaving 5 to 10 thousand troops there.

@501stAirsoft i must admit i had not heard of this act in the war, but even if they devised 2-3 intricate and sucsessfull plans that dousent make you experts at war. Im an Australian and during WW2 i dont no if you have heard about it but Australia fought its first battle where their troops were under their own control in papua niugini on a mountain trail called Kokoda. the australians had some 5000 men the japs had 30000. America cam in half way through with another 20000 troops.

@badababoopi of these 20000 troops 2000 were lost and they americans drew back to the ships and left before the enemy got close. they left the 5000 australian troops to the japs. the importance of this war was to save australia from being taken over by the japs. off the 5000 troops we lost between 2500 - 3500. the remaining australians managed to push them out and capture one of their transport ships so they could get home with out trecking back across the kokoda track

@badababoopi and the kokoda track is also known for killing more people for the soilders did, just for a percepion of the condition of the track. so as they left papua niugini on the japanese transport ship they were shot down by an american submarine of the coral sea. hows that for a hard battle eh? btw im pretty sure fooling someone to think your attacking somewhere is your only tactic like in iraq america spent 1.2 billion dollars on restoring the Missuri

@badababoopi dumbass, american tactics were different, i study ww2 and much others, back then they were tactical with useing many men and didnt pay much of the price, Germans arnt japs nor are they arabs, they have better fighting skiils to fight americans thats why we lost many soldiers, also you are refering to the russians, they threw millions at the germans with little surviving

forgive me but wernt the americans not involved in market garden, the landings near arnhem were all brittish paratroopers, the americans had armoured units in the area at the same time but it wasnt part of the same operation ( allthough they did get involved ) i was unde the impression in was almost entirely an operation carried out by the brittish comonwealth under the comand of general montgummery

the plan was to drop three airborne divisions,the American 82nd Airborne and the 101st Airborne Divisions and the British 1st Airborne Division.These three divisions would land in the Netherlands, behind German lines,and secure bridges and towns across the western part of the country,primarily at Eindhoven,Nijmegen and Arnhem.British XXX Corps,would then make a rapid advance to Arnhem and cross the Rhine River,this would then cut the German lines and would hopefully "End the War by Christmas".
