My 93 year old mother is starting to have problems remembering simple names for everyday items like TV remotes or names of old movies she has seen many times. She does out bursts of frustration , too, like this lady. She'll swear she has taken her medicine and gives a description of when she took it though I haven't even prepared it for her for that day. Don't know if it's Alzheimer's, but her doctor, in-home care nurse, and I are monitoring her. Mom is suspicious about her money, too.
Thats so very sad but I think at this moment I wouldn't question her about anything. Asking her for a kiss, asking her who your dad is, and repeatedly asking questions I think is ticking her off. Not an easy job you have there, may God give you strength.
I would just like to let everyone know that my beautiful mum passed away. Her illness that took away her mind so long ago, finally caught up with her body. She passed very peacefully and with my dad, me and my sister, and her grandchildren around her. She's now with family that love her just as much as we did...my brother, her mum and dad and her sister. We love you mum and you gave us so many memories, I just hope that memories of you before Alzheimers come to me soon..xxx
@sambi1968..i just saw your vid....shes so much like my mum..at this stage..shes speaks just like her.did you call her dot..as thats my mums name also god.bless
@sambi1968 What goes around comes around!!!!....... I am so happy for you and hope your children forgive you in the same way you forgive your Mum. My father was the kindest fellow before dementia set in and now he makes Victor Meldrew look like sweet Jesus!!!! It is so difficult not to take things personally, but if you can take this kind of abuse in the spirit you have, then so shall I thank you for opening up your heart to us all.
My grandmother is the exact same way. Yesterday I was watching TV in our family room, and she was sitting on her chair that she usually sits on. She started speaking random words and I told her to stop. She yelled at me saying "I'm going to ... KILL YOU!"
I work in a care home, and theres a lady whos like this she just shouts out insults for no reason all the time. And shes started swearing and being violent. Its sad :/
Watching this reminds me of how it was with my mum. She never use to swear but with the disease came new things. It was really tough, but there were also some funny moments and you know you have to laugh sometimes otherwise you'd be crying all the time. I´ll never forget the first time mum forgot who I was. I wish you and your family all the best. x

hey great video, im a carer in anursing home and my ward deal with the late stages, the violence etc, its great to see you care for her, i do think some people are better with their faimilies rather than in a care home horraible diease its robs people, its not just forgetting as you said, patients become aggiated and violent and its very upsetting, i even find it diifficult to see them so distreased couldnt image it happening to someone i love so fair play
@cupcake4206969..... Why do you say I'm conniving or phony? I have no resentment of my wonderful mum in any way shape of form....all my resentment is aimed at the illness, not my mum. The video is posted to show just how this disease can affect someone, who used to be the most amazing mother in the world. Some carers have no idea what they will go through with their loved one, when they are diagnosed with Alzheimer's... it's not just about 'forgetting things'.
@209116032 you're right, I've never walked in either of these ladies shoes and i have no room to judge especially based on a 4 minute clip. don't know if her daughter will see this and no need to respond. just wanted to say I'm sorry for my rude comment.
@cupcake4206969 yeah, that wasnt my mom. but it is pretty sick what you do to your mom. seriously, and ur dad. from what i hear he always takes u from behind. u need therapy before u start murdering virgins and what not! sick, twisted depraved indivdual cupcake man. geeze, u are a future pedophile in the making. u have my pity for ur pathetic life!
I'm sending you my best wishes but I would not post footage of my mum who suffered from Alzheimers (what a gross intrustion of privacy). It is the most cruel illness I have ever witnessed.
I'm glad you shared this. My grandfather was diagnosed with alzheimer's disease... He was the closest thing to a father I had growing up cause my dad didn't want to be a part of my life.... It breaks my heart cause I don't want to lose my grandpa cause I lost my mother and I'm losing both grandparents right now. my grandmother to cancer and my grandfather to alzheimer's.
Your moms reactions are very typical - but you can guide her so that she reacts less negatively. Unfortunately the negative language does come out due to the disease, but if we are very careful with our approach of subjects and questions we can prevent this display of self protection when our loved ones simply do not comprehend .....
just lost my uncle he was just like this with most people but not me he seemed to enjoy my company,he died last week and its his funeral on monday 7th september miss him loads saw him every other otherday,so sad.....
Sending you all the very best wishes to you and your family and hope that you can stay strong at this time to give her the love and care she deserves and needs....thanks for your comments..xx
I'm glad I'm able to share this as sometimes this side of Alzheimer's goes unnoticed and unspoken about....yet it's happens all too often and is very upsetting for the family .... we have to stay strong though and sometimes mum, makes us laugh, but it's not very often we see her smiling now...xxx
I am so sorry for where you are at with your Mom. This makes me realize how lucky I am about my Mom...no matter how hard it is right now, at least she knows us and if these treatments keep working, we will never have to go through the heartbreak you must be feeling.
I will be praying for your Mom's comfort, your family's understanding, and your patience and strength.

@patrick25w What a stupid, ignorant comment. Get some education, including basic spelling lessons.

@cupcake4206969 I don't think she sounds phony at all. She sounds sad that her mother has become this way. You are in no place to judge. :(
