the 98 film wasn't a bad creatur feature, just a bad godzilla film. but that is just my opinion on it.

Godzilla is a Japanese icon so why dont the Japanese come up with a nice movie ? If they can make great CG films like Final Fantasy advent children surely special effects is not a issue for them.

Well actually I meant Toho going with CG so that Godzilla , the city and the destruction would look more believable . i have to completly disagree with you on this one. the miniture sets always look great, though some of the vehicles my look off at times. and they have done cg before (always sunset on 3rd street 2 has a reall kick ass sceen that you should check out) but the guy in the suit is just more believable then a sleek effect in my opinion. toho will keep doing what they do best, and legendary will go with a cgi godzilla. but im against an animated movie, live action all the way.

Japan has a glorious film history which is as old & as grand as the one America has, Directors like Akira Kurosawa , Heinosuke Gosho ,Teinosuke Kinugasa among others are recognized as Master Filmmakers and their work is studied by budding American filmmakers at various Film Schools around the USA.

I've made a really cool Godzilla 2012 design for you Godzilla419, I haven't put it up on my deviantart account yet but it very closely resembles the 1954 Gojira design except with skin that looks like it has been burnt from the nuclear fallout and inverted legs similar to Zilla's but he stands upright. He only runs like a T-Rex. I also have the preference for orange fire because in the original "Gojira" poster and G:KotM poster his fire is orange.

any godzilla fan who appreciate the original design would not like "porkipine godzilla" nice art if fan art but if movie then not good at all, godzilla was clearly originally designed after a dinosaur and should be kept to that idea
these did turn out to be fan are (check out the videos linked in the video or the video response section), but it turns out that the guy who drew them intended that the spines were actually supposed to be primitive feathers, like what they suspect therapods at the late cretaceous period might have had.

yeah wikipedia is not that great, but godzillawiki (maintained and updated by godzilla fans) is fairly acurate, and that forum has a mod or admin that is an expert to answer the question. so i trust the last 2 more. and all the info confirms eachother.
Well if that's the case then if you kind of think about it, it wouldn't make senes to leave destorya a hanger while Godzilla 2000 is its own movie apart from the last series so that would mean one series has been forgotten or the people in toho now want to leave something or not continue with the last series while making Godzilla millienium an outsider from the other movies made about the other Godzillla's.
they had ment to continue the series with monsters like obsidion, crystalax, and bangan fighting jr, but they dropped it. just like there was no reason to drop the origonal series after terror of mechagodzilla, but they did. they thought it was time for a new start, but never got a series going. now trust me, i thought that 2000 was a direct sequal for a long while, but then toho said it wasn't. check out cinemassacars godzillathon, he will confirm.
Heeeyyyy. Didn't you forget that at the end of Destoryer The other Godzilla gave his life energy to Jr after he died and then Jr became the new king of the monsters and yah Jr is also The millenium Godzilla . Also I'm not being negitive or mean I'm being reasonalbe .
i remember destroyah, i reviewed all the godzilla movies. and it is a documented fact, that the millenium series is not cannon with the heisea series. completly different continuities, and for a fact, each are a reboot. millenium only sequals the origonal. megagirus only sequals the origonal. x mecha sequals the origonal and sos sequals x mexha. final wars and gmk are also both stand alones that only sequal the origonal. these are facts straight from toho.
I just looked the cgi is ok but it looks like the Godzilla from Godzilla monster all out attack or the orginal but nothing like the Millium Godzilla (aka Godzilla Jr. just older) and he is not that fast or twitchy.But it is ok I perfure the Tokyo sos's better.
hey this is my opinon I'm not saying it's bad but Godzilla isn't not dark in soul but rather hardcore and vishes like animal and intelligent but like I said it's my opinon on how Godzilla should be like. (aka the Godzilla in Tokyo S.O.S is the one I like just without the scar on his chest.)
@GodzillaStitchfan yeah and that is cool. i am not saying you are right or wrong about anything. i like the dark version like in gmk, and you like the animalistic version which is also really cool. both are dramatic and cool looks that godzilla pulls off well. it is the campy hero version that probably wouldn't float in a modern remake. all i am asking is that you check out that one sceen from always sunset on 3rd street and see a good cgi godzilla model. most people really like it.
Its just that I'm worried that this Godzilla will turn out to be like the Sony version and its been in all the Godzilla movies that Godzilla was a rubber suit and with the best of cgi it may or may not look real and the rubber suit made Godzilla more real. Not trying to be negitive but reasonable.

monsters from space takeing over mexico and slowly incroaching on the usa should be a big deal we have to confront every day,but it is treated as mundane.
I can't believe there are some people who defend that abomination that was the 1998 Godzilla movie directed by Roland Emmerich. That 'thing' was anything but Godzilla; didn't look like Godzilla, was way too weak, the story was pathetic, and it showed not a bit of respect for the kids (and adults!) who remembered Godzilla as this awe-inspiring nearly invincible monster. Clearly not a single fuck was given when making that "movie".
now i have to both agree and disagree with you there. yes, it was clearly a lame attempt to imatate or just cash in on the godzilla name with no respect given to the source material. but if looked at as an independent entity, as a stand alone creature feature, it was not all that bad. terriable godzilla movie, ok creature feature. i actually have a review of it in my godzillathon, though it is numbered as 22.5 and not given a whole number slot real godzilla movies get.

the 1998 american godzilla is not so bad, it didnt have the famous atomic breath but the science is not so ridiculous as the tokusatsu standard not to mention the stinky and cheesy acting especially by the foreign extras

I've made a really cool Godzilla 2012 design for you Godzilla419, I haven't put it up on my deviantart account yet but it very closely resembles the 1954 Gojira design except with skin that looks like it has been burnt from the nuclear fallout and inverted legs similar to Zilla's but he stands upright. He only runs like a T-Rex. I also have the preference for orange fire because in the original "Gojira" poster and G:KotM poster his fire is orange.

Good thing it was Fan-Made. The first one looked as if it was growing spines, out of his arms.
The second one, I will say the same. I agree with this guy, IF it was real and they got rid of the arm spines and all the excess crap it has, then it would look pretty cool

any godzilla fan who appreciate the original design would not like "porkipine godzilla" nice art if fan art but if movie then not good at all, godzilla was clearly originally designed after a dinosaur and should be kept to that idea

these did turn out to be fan are (check out the videos linked in the video or the video response section), but it turns out that the guy who drew them intended that the spines were actually supposed to be primitive feathers, like what they suspect therapods at the late cretaceous period might have had.

But still any time I see Godzilla 2000 or Godzilla Tokyo S.O.S, the Godzilla they use looks like Baby Godzilla from MG 2 through out to Destorya well if you had two pics one from MG 2 and one from Tokyo S.O.S just look at the face and eyes they look a lot a like just the age is different. Well if that's the case then if you kind of think about it, it wouldn't make senes to leave destorya a hanger while Godzilla 2000 is its own movie apart from the last series so that would mean one series has been forgotten or the people in toho now want to leave something or not continue with the last series while making Godzilla millienium an outsider from the other movies made about the other Godzillla's.

they had ment to continue the series with monsters like obsidion, crystalax, and bangan fighting jr, but they dropped it. just like there was no reason to drop the origonal series after terror of mechagodzilla, but they did. they thought it was time for a new start, but never got a series going. now trust me, i thought that 2000 was a direct sequal for a long while, but then toho said it wasn't. check out cinemassacars godzillathon, he will confirm.

i remember destroyah, i reviewed all the godzilla movies. and it is a documented fact, that the millenium series is not cannon with the heisea series. completly different continuities, and for a fact, each are a reboot. millenium only sequals the origonal. megagirus only sequals the origonal. x mecha sequals the origonal and sos sequals x mexha. final wars and gmk are also both stand alones that only sequal the origonal. these are facts straight from toho.

I just looked the cgi is ok but it looks like the Godzilla from Godzilla monster all out attack or the orginal but nothing like the Millium Godzilla (aka Godzilla Jr. just older) and he is not that fast or twitchy.But it is ok I perfure the Tokyo sos's better.

@GodzillaStitchfan yeah and that is cool. i am not saying you are right or wrong about anything. i like the dark version like in gmk, and you like the animalistic version which is also really cool. both are dramatic and cool looks that godzilla pulls off well. it is the campy hero version that probably wouldn't float in a modern remake. all i am asking is that you check out that one sceen from always sunset on 3rd street and see a good cgi godzilla model. most people really like it.

Its just that I'm worried that this Godzilla will turn out to be like the Sony version and its been in all the Godzilla movies that Godzilla was a rubber suit and with the best of cgi it may or may not look real and the rubber suit made Godzilla more real. Not trying to be negitive but reasonable.

I can't believe there are some people who defend that abomination that was the 1998 Godzilla movie directed by Roland Emmerich. That 'thing' was anything but Godzilla; didn't look like Godzilla, was way too weak, the story was pathetic, and it showed not a bit of respect for the kids (and adults!) who remembered Godzilla as this awe-inspiring nearly invincible monster. Clearly not a single fuck was given when making that "movie".

now i have to both agree and disagree with you there. yes, it was clearly a lame attempt to imatate or just cash in on the godzilla name with no respect given to the source material. but if looked at as an independent entity, as a stand alone creature feature, it was not all that bad. terriable godzilla movie, ok creature feature. i actually have a review of it in my godzillathon, though it is numbered as 22.5 and not given a whole number slot real godzilla movies get.

the 1998 american godzilla is not so bad, it didnt have the famous atomic breath but the science is not so ridiculous as the tokusatsu standard not to mention the stinky and cheesy acting especially by the foreign extras
