NICE video by the way! I would not EVER recommend shooting an animal that far, but in order to make shooting one up closer easier... safely practicing tougher shots like this, with consistent quality results... will make hitting that single, much smaller hair patch mush easier to handle in the future. Compare this sort of target practice, with shooting at a half of a walnut shell stuck on the face of a hay bale @ 40 yards, and you will see similar results. Sort of an aim small hit small idea.

I have shot a sighted bow set-up @ 90 yards, with my furthest yardage pin set @ 40 yards. I was able to get better grouping than seen in this video, but it took a few shots to determine how high to hold over the top of the target (& I held plenty high over the top... like PLENTY HIGH). Shooting these distances is not as tough as it appears, when one safely practices doing so often. Shooting a target vs. an animal is one thing as well. I do agree, shooting far makes shooting near VERY easy!

come on people, its a proven benefit to practice long shots out to 2x your normal shooting distance. it makes the short shots very easy. would i shoot an animal from that dist? no but i practice out to 80 yds.  makes the normal 50 yds and cloder easy.

@nriggs1000 terminal velocity applies when you are falling with gravity in a vertical manner. You can reach terminal velocity from a bow, but after a certain amount of yards, its velocity will drop. Nothing on the planet earth can travel at terminal velocity in a horizontal motion (or curved motion, it doesn't matter) indefinitely, or even for very long at all unless you are using a high power gun. Due to gravity, air resistance, and friction, it slows down. That's why arrows drop.

@nriggs1000 You dont hunt much do you? Well last deer season i was bow hunting with a matthews switchback 320fps 70# bow, with carbon matrix arrows, and muzzy 100 grain broadheads. I shot a deer at 70 yards (dont ask why) and hit perfect right behind the shoulder. Only got 3 1/2 inches of penetration. Just enough to graze his heart and i was able to recover him. Now, i understand what your getting at but arrows at 55 yards and further have little to no penetration.Unless your bow is over 100lb

Point being his sight system is pretty damn accurate. This is a hundred yard shot and each of the three would harvest that animal. Who cares about noise, bow, penetration and so forth. Thats all dependent on your bow. Compare it to your own accuracy with all your pins and guestimations. I get it! Nice video.
