Awesome and inspiring. So glad I'm finally getting into this, would love to "quit my day job" and take on the markets. Thanks for getting me pumped! haha

nice motivational video, try showing a guy with body hair untrimmed, eye all sore from starting at the computer screen so damn much and the BO so strong your neighbours two floors above you can smell it because you didn't shower for a week and then when you bag a lot of units and see it was all worth the hassle, a nice warm cry of happiness or a total annihilation of your apartment if your position was way out of the park :)
discipline and self-awareness are our companions, thats the key of being a successfull trader, great video guys, i watch it every day before the market opens
I love that clip! I watch it regularly and it gives me strength and honour to be part of this distinct craft! Thank you for giving us a voice with style @OpentraderVideos
@tygerk@PedroAntoniodaCruz Great comments. We're independent traders ourselves, and made the video in good spirit for traders like you. People in the comments who aren't traders are confusing independent retail traders with Wall Street firms (aka Goldman Sachs, etc). This video was made for independent traders.
Did you know bankers and traders use to earn the same wage as bus drivers. I know a trader who saw his wage rise up and up, he thought it was because he was clever, I know my trader friend and I know his work, he ain't no Einstein... it was because of corruption bought congress, deregulated the financial industry, gave hand outs to those within the industry and told them they deserved it... They do not.
@SocialSC >"Did you know bankers and traders use to earn the same wage as bus drivers."< Since you state this, I have to re-read and re-think what you said in your other comment. I've never worked at a financial institution, but there is a big difference between an institutional trader, and the retail trader (just your regular guy/gal at home.) Retail traders don't earn wages. Like the video says "We live by our wits, eating what we hunt." Retail traders AREN'T LOOKING for a wage!!
@tygerk I'm just saying the whole idea that this jobs is important is a fallacy, its a game created by the corrupted that contributes nothing to society.
@SocialSC I've seen "Money as Debt" parts I & II on youtube, so I see what you are saying (about the evils of making money from money), but as long as this world is based on FIAT CURRENCIES and FRACTIONAL RESERVE BANKING, I don't want to only bring a knife to a gunfight. What I mean is, even before the markets were so open to small retail traders, institutions were doing it among themselves anyway, so I'm not going to abstain from trying to do this on some type of 'moral' grounds.
@SocialSC However, at the same time, I do think that the ability for companies to raise money, and liquid markets for facilitating transactions are beneficial developments for the evolution of what businesses can contribute to society.
As an ex trader I must say this is total propaganda. I respect the skills and insights of a trader, but lets face, its a very unhealthy job.. not just the sedentariness, but the stress is insane and is sure to kill you prematurely. Then you have the fact the job is worthless to society, a waste talent, just bouncing money around with no tangible value. I expect this occupation will be replaced by AI computing in the future anyway.
@SocialSC (Part 1of3) As an aspiring Retail Trader, I must say that this is NOT total propaganda. IMO, its a motivational video to cheer on the people who decide to go into this venture, to praise the kind of traits necessary, and to celebrate the commonalities traders share. Basically, A BIT OF CHEERLEADING, for those who choose to pursue this endeavor, that's all. That's why this video always makes me smile. It's not propaganda b/c 1-What it is saying is true {correct me if I'm mistaken}
@SocialSC (Part 2of3) 2-It's not trying to scam people to join by making unrealistic, dubious claims & promises; it is just cheerleading. Anyone learning to trade quickly becomes familiar with the fact/anecdote that 95% of traders fail.
As for it being an unhealthy job, sedentariness is an option one chooses for themselves. (that was a pretty weak excuse for you to put up there.) I don't know from my own experience, but I think I can see how working for an institution must be VERY stressful
@SocialSC (Part 3of3) (having to meet performance requirements,' constant competition'/'feelings of inadequancy' between you and your co-workers during losing streaks maybe). Otherwise, ANY entrepreneur who becomes their own sole source of income will feel stress. And as I stated in an earlier comment, Retail Traders take money from the markets and use it to purchase goods and services from the real world.
[nice hearing your thoughts, I'm not trying to be hostile or anything.]
Everyone want to live luxury life. But noone know why it goes. And it goes because traders are still controlling markets. Loans, credit cards and so on are possible because traders are still controlling markets like angel on the sky. I believe that I will be good trader too. I am working on my strategy. But without someone who can help me it goes hard. Trader, be careful. Wish you all the best on markets. Regards Mário F.
@tranquilizer85 Just removed some comments. This video was made for TRADERS and every trader we've talked to loves the video because they KNOW it's true!
@OpentraderVideos I can only support this comment. I am in no way related the company Open Trader, but people THIS is FUN and lucrative too! I have been actively (full day) trading for 5 years now and IT WORKS, I don't have anything to gain with my comments only to encourage you to learn this wonderful skill. Good luck.
@birdofprey160 Yes, working for a company as a slave is sane. You are fucking asshole. This is the real craft, working as a stupid worker screwing stuff into a Ford Galaxy makes humanity certainly go forward. Go and fuck your arse.
@j3ph42: Obviously you have no idea about the history of trading. And all you fuckers that are bashing Wall Street and Bankers have NO CLUE about finances and money and are just envying that you still have a stupid 9-5 job! Here a short history lesson: traders & speculators provided the liquidity so that farmers could work their land and still feel confident that they would sell crop. Also thanks to greedy speculators the US advanced with train racks, NASA AND the Internet. Ignorant idiots!!!
@BenjiREC Yes, and you are a Saint that is using a computer, the internet and an iPhone that was made by Asian slave workers so that you can come here and vomit your idiotic opinion. You are a fucking parasite that lives off inventions of other intelligent people. WHAT WAS YOUR contribution to humankind? Besides feces and urinating?
@KungFuChess It motivates you!!!!!!! Gives you that good feeling to go out and WIN my friend. I have traded the markets for 5 years. Nonstop. I don't have a BOSS. I trade whenever I feel good. Trading is pure Platinum Lifestyle. I wish you KungFuChess lots and lots and lots of success my friend.
@unomnacajit111 I learned this while questioning an argument in "Money As Debt":
Traders earn/take some of that fiat currency that the Central Banks have sloshing around, and use it to purchase items from the Real World of Goods and Services.
Trading in this video is exaggerated a lot but still, it puts a smile on your face. Well, real trading is (for a currency trader), waiting reports, spending hours in front of computer waiting the right moment(and signal), showing your middle finger to the indicators from time to time, and sleeping peacefully after a profitable week(or dreaming about a trade gone horribly wrong when you carry positions overnight)
@unomnacajit111 Parasitic? It's a zero sum game at worst. You need to have the conset of two parties b4 a trade is made. The only actions are consensual, voluntary exchanges. In every transaction, each side, based on their own circumstances, believes they are better off than before. Trading is nothing but an exchange, Mate. Don't take it so personal. Also the video is portraying the average daytrader, not the damn investment banks. So tell me how does a 9-5 desk job contribute more to society?
Interesting video, but I will say this, day tradding is not something you can just pick up easily. Imagine taking someone who knows absolutely nothing about airplanes, putting them 10,000 ft in the air in a 747 and telling them to land it... welcome to day trading. Many people fail, and when I say fail, I'm talking in the thousands, if not tens of thousands or more. Probably because of videos like this that give the impression anyone can do it straight out of the chute.
Trading is like any other profession, You have to learn how to read charts, understand price action. support - resistance levels to buy or sell. control risk and identify high probability trading areas. Shit is not easy, many people dont have the stamina to handle the heat when things get ugly but thats the entrepreneur spirit some people have, to get knocked down and get back up.
As a Technical trader i dont care if the price is going up or down. i will sell if i see prices are about to plunge and long when strength is to the upside. We dont wish for the economy to fail but if the warning signs are there that things are about to get bad, what... i should sit there and watch an opportunity go by? no, i will sell into it. the beauty about it is i can profit when things get bad, with a job you just have to "suck it up" until you get the pink slip and your income is chopped.
@euphoria651 You're wrong, those are the really profitable ones & the reason that they visit this video is that they want to know what losers like you are thinking lately so that they can have your money. Thank you.
aren't you the bastards who benefit from the downfall of the stock market? the ones who where wishing for this economic dissaster to make proffit? like the worst scum behind the worst and most failed proyect ever (capitalism)? hope not, but if you are then your days are counted and you well diserve it, after that hope you learn the lesson: don't fuck with humanity!.
You obviously know nothing about the market. Yes, we traders make money when the market is down; but we also make money when it is up. Whatever you perceive our actions as being to drive the market down, those same actions are in play when the market is up. We are what drives production, innovation and advancement.
Without boats, a shipping company can't deliver. Without parts, and auto company can't manufacture and with out airplanes an airliner can't transport; who fronts the money/risk for these companies to be in busines? We do.
@khartoba yeah ok i get it you guys are gods ... thank you thank you os much for fucking with our lives and out planet creating a fake economy based on whatever you feel like , your interpretation of risks that are clearly subjective and manipulated by things like goldman sachs. hope you cut with the bullshit soon to create a real resource based economy in harmony with the planet not with your financial delusion. cause it's a fact: it doesn't work, creates poverty all arround the world. wake up
Whatever dude. Have you ever purchased a car that cost an entire year's salary, or a home that cost 10 years salary? How is anyone able to purchase any large ticket items, not just to live but also start a business? Investors; someone willing to take the risk. It doesn't always pan out though. I bet you wouldn't survive 1 week trying to trade in the market.
@khartoba no, actually i haven't, if i want to make a big purchase i save money then go for it. sounds simple enuf without having to deal with crazy people... about investments, ok dude, but what about the FRAUD that left thousends of citizens in USA HOMELESS? DUDE. wake up ! this is a bad habit, this has to change. i get your point tho, just try to understand mine... it's been a big scam comming from the financial system. it prooved itself worthless and it HAS TO CHANGE!.... love
@Nojgic You're right, it can help a lot of ppl who do know nothing about this business to get better understand. I think that the guy who uploaded video here is the only person who can gimme a permission.maybe that's happen.
people making money by shuffling paper adds no value to the economy. These people are leeches on society, and the world would be a better place without them.
I applaud and thank you for this video. Awesome. I have been living off the markets and it makes traveling around the globe possible. My family still thinks this is gambling ;-) Places I visited this year - thanks to full-time trading: Scotland, Paris, Dubai, Lisbon, several places in Germany, Varna (Bulgaria), Amsterdam, Costa Rica.... Tribute to you and good trading to all of you!!!!
@PedroAntoniodaCruz Congratulations, I am learning how to trade, and hope to reach a level of success where I can live/work on my own terms as well. And donate to a few good charitable causes along the way...
Have you ever worked for a financial institution? Or has all of your trading experience been outside of that area?
@tygerk -- The good news my friend: I never worked for a financial institution (I have received job offers from some, but refused - I prefer freedom over a higher pay). I have aqcuired my experience by reading books, forums and a sickening amount of hours in front of the screen. This is like Golf, Tennis, Piano playing...take anything you want....do it for thousands of hours and you reach the upper top of professionalism. Some people have natural born skills and have shorter learning curves.
@PedroAntoniodaCruz -- I repeat: ENDURANCE. Stick to it. Even if it becomes hard and you cry and your losses are hurting you. If you give up, everything you did was for nothing. I have spent thousands of hours into this and it pays off. I could have used that time for some hobby or watching TV, but instead can now lean back on hard work. This week I only traded 3 hours. Took the rest of the week off. Yesterday I slept in and watched movies till 3 a.m. - just because I wanted to do so :-)
@70weer Yep. I fully agree with you 70weer. You are doing this for the money, if you want excitement buy a motorbike or go skydiving ;-) No emotions in Trading, just pure, dull repeating and executing - squeezing your edge!
In response to others thoughts .... A person can look at this as investing ... but it's not because in the end .. when you close the trade after 20 milliseconds or twenty years . You trade it for something else . 99.9% of the time it's currency . But it is still a trade .
Investing is a perception .. a philosophy , a mindset ... but the reality is your still trading one thing for another .
Just to make things clear: when it comes to commodities, we don't trade them. We trade IOU's about commodities, but not the commodities themselves. For example, we trade much more silver that is known to exist.
And, trading is speculating, not investing. Using the right word is important: what you do what the money you earn in investing. I call investing if I convert my money into cashflow. It I just make capital gains, I am speculating.
So I spend the money I earn speculating in investing.
I trade and I dont consider me an investor. I speculate. Investing is what I do later with the money I earn to convert it into cashflow. Which is the song by the way?
One more note, Trading is a business and you must develop a trading plan for yourself. I think thats why so many fail at trading, If your going to be a doctor you need years! of study to become a good doctor, same thing with any other profession but come into the trading world and expect to be a rock star trader in 6 months? it aint gonna happen pal. the fact that in trading a 5 figure profit can be achieved in a week have people drooling but you must master the trading art first before anything
@uzernam3 I learned to trade in three months and make 5 digit profits in a week and I continue to make 5 digit profits weekly. It is just how you trade and prepare yourself. You are right, a plan will make you rich. :)
@uzernam3 the matter is not a 4, 5 or 6 figure profit, but the percentage people make, or claim to make. And specially, the constancy of the profits. Many people were making money for a few years and then lost all of their gains in 2008. Very few people make good money for a long time trading (percentage wise), just like very few people are sport champions for a long time.
Aren't you a real witless wonder? What about them indeed? What I am I meant to understand from your attack? That you're a trader? That you make money from that? Easy to say, but you know, "proof or it didn't happen". And as for reading books, I'm positive I've read more in my 30 years of life than lots of other people, includng yourself, which should be obvious by your oh-so "clever" retort.
@guidocalzone Why are you bashing traders. I trade for a living and I'm 21. Haha.
I learned to trade in three months and learned from my mistakes. I make 5 digit profits per week and young. It is just how you play the game. Those guys you met were losers and probably suck at it. $_$
@NiHaoWoJiaoYang 3 months is nothing. I've seen MANY people making crazy money in a few months only to enter a bad luck roll eventually and lose it all. Just saying. But I know you won't believe until it happens to you eventually. You can't stay at the top for too long. No one can.
@tradercrm in theory this is easy, but you can also go on a sequence of being stopped only to see that your stop price was pretty much the inversion point of the trend. And if you're daytrading derivatives that could mean a huge loss in one week for example. If one claims to make a living out of trading stocks, they gotta have at least a 100k dollars, and then maintain a regular profit of 2 or 3% a month. But people trading for a few months claiming they MAKE A LIVING... that's just not true.
And he wanted me to set up a pooled account with my money and his "method". Slowly but surely I found out he was actually living off his second wife who had a job while he sat at home "trading", or more likely watching charts because he had lost everything (which wasn't much to begin with). Later I found out he was going to speak on "myths and truth in trading" for a forex brokerage firm. I was like yeah, the myth is you make a living trading and the truth is you're mooching off your wife.
bla bla... i knew a guy who used to work for a bank, then he got fired and when i met him through a forex brokerage get together, he claimed he was some bad ass trader, making a living off forex. The first doubts came when i saw his piece of junk car. I was like what, you can't afford to fix this or even better buy a new one with the kind of money you claim you're making? He claimed he had some infallible strategy.
Sound like his infallible strategy has him following some "Wonderful" magic system that probably over leverages his trades and therefore cant make any money, Those get wealthy quick systems never work. People sometimes ask me "How can i make money Trading like your doing?" Usually people only "see" the money and dont consider the prior years of trial and error that leads to nice profits while minimizing and controlling risk.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
The masters of lies and deception. The kings of deceit. You guys know that what you do is gambling and a whole lot of you know what you are doing is immoral and unjustifiably crooked. You manipulate the markets, deceive the people and pocket the profits at high speed. Your day of reckoning is coming soon.
The voicing and music may be a bit dramatic but the "If they only knew" line is pretty on point. Trading has less to do with your strategy and alot more with your psychological make up, mental toughness and managing risk. People who do not trade dont understand that part, its a tough business and you really have to master yourself in terms of controlling your emotions and discipline.
I can't tell if this is a Colbert-style parody, or if the author of this video is so delusional he/she thinks stock traders are some kind of shadowy, persecuted breed that everyone in the world secretly aspires to join. This video is more like a nice parody of Scientology than an inspirational call to action for traders.
Cool video. Love it and its true. My bosses and coworkers don't understand and are ignorant. They hate someone who is intelligent and knowledgeable in making money. They complain about money and missing paychecks while I laugh at them and tell them learn to make money and stop complaining. :)
@BabaShtrumf Sorry dude, but you're confusing self employed people with some kind of employees, and all employees with their employers. It is good for set scapegoats, but bad for analyzing reality, which is critical to change it...
@CheaterNLaw I'm cool with running a small family business.. car insurance. I have plenty of time to educate myself through the non-mainstream media unlike you and I'm not your son. you sound like a redneck...
They say it's not gambling, then attribute to traders almost every positive character trait (analysis, discipline, etc) that serious gamblers will also tell you they possess. You know, acceptance is the first step.

Manage your risk wisely, select trades only with the best probability and confluence and a high r:r ratio.

Edirneli 3 months ago
@Edirneli You can trade FX (currency) with no Fundamentals and no Indicators; just purely on Price Action.
But you're definitely right, the video always puts a smile on my face!

Shit is not easy, many people dont have the stamina to handle the heat when things get ugly but thats the entrepreneur spirit some people have, to get knocked down and get back up.
uzernam3 4 months ago
As a Technical trader i dont care if the price is going up or down. i will sell if i see prices are about to plunge and long when strength is to the upside. We dont wish for the economy to fail but if the warning signs are there that things are about to get bad, what... i should sit there and watch an opportunity go by? no, i will sell into it. the beauty about it is i can profit when things get bad, with a job you just have to "suck it up" until you get the pink slip and your income is chopped.

You obviously know nothing about the market. Yes, we traders make money when the market is down; but we also make money when it is up. Whatever you perceive our actions as being to drive the market down, those same actions are in play when the market is up. We are what drives production, innovation and advancement.

Have you ever worked for a financial institution? Or has all of your trading experience been outside of that area?
tygerk 2 months ago
@tygerk -- The good news my friend: I never worked for a financial institution (I have received job offers from some, but refused - I prefer freedom over a higher pay). I have aqcuired my experience by reading books, forums and a sickening amount of hours in front of the screen. This is like Golf, Tennis, Piano playing...take anything you want....do it for thousands of hours and you reach the upper top of professionalism. Some people have natural born skills and have shorter learning curves.
PedroAntoniodaCruz 2 months ago 5
@PedroAntoniodaCruz -- I repeat: ENDURANCE. Stick to it. Even if it becomes hard and you cry and your losses are hurting you. If you give up, everything you did was for nothing. I have spent thousands of hours into this and it pays off. I could have used that time for some hobby or watching TV, but instead can now lean back on hard work. This week I only traded 3 hours. Took the rest of the week off. Yesterday I slept in and watched movies till 3 a.m. - just because I wanted to do so :-)

So I spend the money I earn speculating in investing.
flaabmrlinux 6 months ago
I trade and I dont consider me an investor. I speculate. Investing is what I do later with the money I earn to convert it into cashflow. Which is the song by the way?

One more note, Trading is a business and you must develop a trading plan for yourself. I think thats why so many fail at trading, If your going to be a doctor you need years! of study to become a good doctor, same thing with any other profession but come into the trading world and expect to be a rock star trader in 6 months? it aint gonna happen pal. the fact that in trading a 5 figure profit can be achieved in a week have people drooling but you must master the trading art first before anything
uzernam3 6 months ago
@uzernam3 I learned to trade in three months and make 5 digit profits in a week and I continue to make 5 digit profits weekly. It is just how you trade and prepare yourself. You are right, a plan will make you rich. :)
NiHaoWoJiaoYang 6 months ago

NiHaoWoJiaoYang 6 months ago
@NiHaoWoJiaoYang 3 months is nothing. I've seen MANY people making crazy money in a few months only to enter a bad luck roll eventually and lose it all. Just saying. But I know you won't believe until it happens to you eventually. You can't stay at the top for too long. No one can.
WilliamAztech 5 months ago
@WilliamAztech This is why a daily loss limit should exist, a professional backs off size when things aren't going their way limiting their losses.
tradercrm 5 months ago
@tradercrm in theory this is easy, but you can also go on a sequence of being stopped only to see that your stop price was pretty much the inversion point of the trend. And if you're daytrading derivatives that could mean a huge loss in one week for example. If one claims to make a living out of trading stocks, they gotta have at least a 100k dollars, and then maintain a regular profit of 2 or 3% a month. But people trading for a few months claiming they MAKE A LIVING... that's just not true.
WilliamAztech 5 months ago
And he wanted me to set up a pooled account with my money and his "method". Slowly but surely I found out he was actually living off his second wife who had a job while he sat at home "trading", or more likely watching charts because he had lost everything (which wasn't much to begin with). Later I found out he was going to speak on "myths and truth in trading" for a forex brokerage firm. I was like yeah, the myth is you make a living trading and the truth is you're mooching off your wife.
guidocalzone 6 months ago
bla bla... i knew a guy who used to work for a bank, then he got fired and when i met him through a forex brokerage get together, he claimed he was some bad ass trader, making a living off forex. The first doubts came when i saw his piece of junk car. I was like what, you can't afford to fix this or even better buy a new one with the kind of money you claim you're making? He claimed he had some infallible strategy.
guidocalzone 6 months ago
@guidocalzone

The masters of lies and deception. The kings of deceit. You guys know that what you do is gambling and a whole lot of you know what you are doing is immoral and unjustifiably crooked. You manipulate the markets, deceive the people and pocket the profits at high speed. Your day of reckoning is coming soon.
Snordelhans 6 months ago
The voicing and music may be a bit dramatic but the "If they only knew" line is pretty on point. Trading has less to do with your strategy and alot more with your psychological make up, mental toughness and managing risk. People who do not trade dont understand that part, its a tough business and you really have to master yourself in terms of controlling your emotions and discipline.
