It's wonderful that he found the path to a more spiritual life. However, it's a shame that he has recently came out as a homophobe, saying homosexuality in "unnatural" and "detrimental and ultimately destructive to the many foundations of civilization". These are the words of a bigot and not those of an enlightened man. I'm sorry for his words and his contempt for fellow human beings who are gay and who seek to form their own families.
It's ridiculous to say he would have been bigger than Tom Cruise as not all t.v. actors make it big on the big screen. In fact his movie with Dudley Moore was seen by a few and wasn't seen as anything special. He was the biggest child star, I will give him that, but that doesn't mean he would have been a big movie star.
What better choice could Kirk have made than backasswards born-again christianity?? Jeez, Alan, there must be about a million better choices he could have made! Remember, this idiot has publicly held up a "photo" of a "crockoduck" in order to refute evolution, and sat by while his idiotic partner Ray Comfort made a fool out of himself describing how his god made bananas just for the human hand...he's embarrassed himself and probably all his friends and family; and STILL continues.
@jerico641 Did you ever consider that maybe, just maybe, Kirk and Ray have a sense of humor? He doesn't call God haters idiots, why do you need to insult him to make your point? Perhaps if your sides' arguments were more than ad hominem attacks they would be more convincing and you wouldn't be so angry. Jesus loves you.
Jesus is imaginary. And don't kid yourself, Cameron and Comfort were SERIOUS about the crockoduck and the banana. I can't help by insult people like that, not to mention people who try and coerce others into calling themselves "liars" and "thieves". They're both amoral idiots, and I'd bet every dime I have that if all of us got in time machine and traveled back to Germany in 1938, both of them would be charter members of the SS. People like this are dangerous, not funny.

Punctuation is sometimes fun to use in a sentence; you might want to try it sometime. I happen to know several decent people who have used drugs in the past, including myself. Have you ever consumed any alcohol? And you've just gotta tell me, did you REALLY confuse fascism and communism?
@jerico641 yeah right sure and why your going to try and be clever and say how coffee and alcohol are drugs are you?! Its you thats confusing everything methinks!!!
Alcohol is a drug; I didn't state anything about coffee, but it's a drug too. I'm sorry if I'm confusing you, but I can't write any more simplistically than this. I'll try to stick to no more than three syllable words, how's that? By the way, what's with the "methinks"? What are you, from the Middle Ages?
I guess you were directing this comment to me, and somehow managed to send it to yourself instead. Nonetheless, the answer is I thought my comment might answer your question as to the origin of my screen name.
@billygutter01 reason and skeptical inquiry were what led me to Christ. Kirk doesn't seem unreasonable and he sure is skeptical of all the claims made by science falsely so-called.
@stramster1 If it's so easy, why do so few take it? It was the hardest thing for me to do...until I did it, and then I only regretted I hadn't done it sooner. It's far more than just a story. It is THE reality.
You are kidding right? Over 30% of the worlds population divided among over 30 thousand Christian denominations not counting Jews, Muslims, Hindu, Jain and all other religions and you call this a few?
Understanding reality is hard work. It takes time hard work and the accumulation of knowledge. If Kirk really wanted to know where we come from he should have studied biology. 17 would be a great age to start. But thats hard... very hard.

That's not true. It's an unsubstantiated claim. Please provide the necessary proof that Kirk Cameron ever made such a statement. Otherwise stop making such wild claims.
Kirk Cameron is an anti-science creationist, he supports rejecting intellectual thought for religious authority. Him and his crazy bannana man buddy ray comfort.
He is neither anti-science nor "anti-intellectual". If you make such allegations, you should be able to prove them. Otherwise, this looks to me like you are committing slander.
The fact that he said this on way of the master, the only way to get people to believe in god is to circomnavigate the intellect, just proved to me he is not intelligent enough to understand science and biology. Whats sad is that creationists like him go on with the logic if the natural world cant explain everything, then it had to have been supernatural. It's people like him, is the reason i'm atheist/naturalist/humanist. To say god did it thats it, is intellectualy lazy!
>the only way to get people to believe in god is to circumnavigate the intellect
I'd like to see the video where he said that. But even if he made such a statement that wouldn't necessarily prove he's anti-intellectual, just that he thinks there is more to a human being than just the intellect. Though that may be arguable, I guess.
What this statement wouldn't prove at all is that he's "not intelligent enough to understand science and biology".
Ok, the fact that creationism dose not explain biology and how biology works. Creationism is not science! He rejects evolution which is science. Kirk like all traditinal christian thinkers believ
I agree, creationism is not science. But neither is macro evolution. At least not observational science (more or less: something you can test in a lab). Nobody denies that there is micro evolution.
And no, you don't have to reject macro evolution in order to be a "true" Christian. To be a Christian means to be a follower of Jesus. You don't have to be a young earth creationist (or macro evolutionist for that matter) in order to be a sister/brother in Christ.
Wow, macro evolution not observible? Look at darwins finches, thats a nice example of specieation! I dont believe we showed up 3000 years ago already fully evolved or other animals that were fully evolved that there was no decent with modification. Are you thinking evolution is like kirk camorens crocduck picture? Thats what alot of un educated christians think evolution is, Pat Robertson, Ray, That guy who did the creationist musiem, kent hovend his phd was from an uncredited school
"Darwin's finches" would fall under micro evolution. To clarify: By micro evolution I mean small-scale change allowing an organism to adapt to its environment. Macro evolution would be for example the molecules-to-man evolution Darwin promoted.
No, I don't think evolution is like a crocduck picture. And I don't know why you have to label those people as uneducated just because they have other opinions than you.
That a christian must reject evolution to be a "true" christian and conform to dogmatic ideals! thats what i'm trying to say. Yes I can out debate kirk if I ever met the guy!
leave Kirk alone. He chose what is best, the eternal. He found the real joy, peace and love by serving the Lord. You have not experienced what he experienced. One day you will understand.
Cameron always was a joke. Nothing against people of low intelligence, but Kirk's intelligence is quite low.. YET he is one of the most outspoken celebrities there is! Frankly, Kirk belongs in a mental hospital. Basically, since he doesn't KNOW much, his thinking centers around FAITH. Intelligence is like eyes, and Kirk is blind to reality, so like a blind man with a cane, he must rely upon "blind" FAITH. Kirk is so sure of himself that he condemns almost everyone to hell.
KIRK had a traumatic experiences and found God to explain it all away how typical. Certainly shows how God is to fill a need not a reognition of anything real.
I remember growing pains as a kid, Great how kirk really changed. I mean he could have ended up dead, but God saved another soul. GOD BLESS Kirk Cameron, Great movies, especially fireproof.
am I the only one who finds it odd that Leonardo Dicaprio who was literally unknown back then was the one cast member who made it huge? From Growing pains to Inception...not bad Leo. Not bad.
@VideoAudioDisco09 "Christians" is a label for those who choose to follow Christ and since you've read the Bible you should know that nobody's perfect. God knows that no one is perfect and that is why He forgives us for our sins because no one is perfect but if you ever meet a Christian who claims that they are lying to you because no one is perfect
@VideoAudioDisco09 Well they that believe the loudest wheel gets the greez sure do make too much noise. I fully am aware of the understandings dealing with those that know not me and yet use "my name". I call those christ-stains and they will be left out of the next chapters of this long trip as we dip through the phyiscal illusion of "reality" at 5% over 95% personal preseption.
Too bad no one wants to create and watch decent tv shows like this anymore..instead our children get to watch trash on tv, well if the parent's don't care that is.

@pbrskater26

@scabw
Thats what alot of un educated christians think evolution is, Pat Robertson, Ray, That guy who did the creationist musiem, kent hovend his phd was from an uncredited school
pbrskater26 2 months ago
@pbrskater26

@scabw
That a christian must reject evolution to be a "true" christian and conform to dogmatic ideals! thats what i'm trying to say. Yes I can out debate kirk if I ever met the guy!

I don't think you need to throw such insults at someone ... even if you disagree with him.

leave Kirk alone.

There are a handful of true "christians" but most are just Christ Stains.

@JesusPuppet
I have never met or herd of a TRUE christian. Just lots of Jesus cult gang members.
Having read the bible no true christian can exsist by its definition, by christians own definition none have ever proved it.
VideoAudioDisco09 3 months ago
@VideoAudioDisco09 "Christians" is a label for those who choose to follow Christ and since you've read the Bible you should know that nobody's perfect. God knows that no one is perfect and that is why He forgives us for our sins because no one is perfect but if you ever meet a Christian who claims that they are lying to you because no one is perfect
3sweetful 3 months ago
@VideoAudioDisco09 Well they that believe the loudest wheel gets the greez sure do make too much noise. I fully am aware of the understandings dealing with those that know not me and yet use "my name". I call those christ-stains and they will be left out of the next chapters of this long trip as we dip through the phyiscal illusion of "reality" at 5% over 95% personal preseption.
