Judging by the harsh rhetoric that Joe has hurled at Obama, it is not out of the realm of possiblity that he is capable of doing just that: undermining Obama at all costs.
The more I hear Lieberman, the very essence of the more thoughtful and centrist side of me wanes. Joe will be heading one of the most important committees in the Senate, with the capability of undermining Obama's presidency. After watching his behavior over the last few months, it is clear that he and Obama are on two different wavelenghts when it comes to foreign policy.
Actually the surge came from the military generals that we advising the President. They had been advocating a similar position for some time before Bush finally came around and admitted that his strategy to that point was a complete failure.
McCain got on board with the idea of the surge well before Bush did though.
So is Joe still walking and refusing to drive on certain faith days? He seems to have changed his spiritual tune since partnering with bush/mccaine/cheney. When he loses his seat this yr what party will he switch to?
Lieberman will be losing his seat due to his pimping for McCain. Dems will never vote for him over his actions, and Redpublican voters will still see him as a Dem. He's killing his own chances at re-election.
remember your history bumblehead, he already won his seat once as an independent, he doesn't need the help of 'retreat and run' party to keep his seat
He won his seat due back as an independent due to Republican backing in a democratic state. No way will the Dems that voted for him will vote for him again.
No, those Democrat voters who have the ability to think and who voted for him last time, both in the primary in which he lost and the general that he won as an independent will vote for him again. It was the radical Left voters who caused him to lose the primary and forced him to run as an independent, he will win again.
The more Lieberman talks, the more the turns people away from McCain. His tone, his old-world persona and lack of presentation only reinforce that this is the 'yesterday club' running for President - and America is looking for someone to lead us into the future.
Keep talkin' Joe. You're doing great! Yuk it up some more. And have some applesauce.
Lieberman slipped up there, fighting public opinion is not what the US needs. Most of the US government is morally corrupt or have given up morality for reciprocal political favours. Your government owns you.
Joe Lieberman is a political whore. The man has no ethics. How can one man run as a democrat for vp in 2000, then all of a sudden become a republican hack. He's such a loser and a spineless rhetorical mouthpiece. I wish he would just go away.
Pretty sure he misspoke there-- meant Afghanistan. Richard Holbrooke did the same thing on Morning Joe this morning-- said Afhanistan when referring to Pakistan. These slips always go unnoticed by the interviewer.
We need more folks like Evan Bayh to shut down the ridiculous right-wing talking points:
"I have to respond to that. Barack Obama was not for 'losing' in Iraq. Barack didn't want the war to begin with. John McCain opposed surging troops in Afghanistan till last week. Was John for losing in Afghanistan? I don't think so. And now you have Maliki, even President Bush, are moving towards Barack Obama's position. His judgment was right."
Yeah, that's what Lieberman calls himself, for some reason. He made up the term because he has a stupid petty grudge against the Democrats, but doesn't want to be a Republican so that McCain can seem more post-party lines by having an independent on his side. Honestly, it's all strategic bullshit.

After studying American politics, this is how to win an election:
Convince people you're very American and that they can "trust you".

Because of the path the Dems took following 9/11, there has been a radical shift to the Left, Lieberman doesn't drink the DNC Kool-Aid
