  • A great band! ...eh, but what's the deal with the ferret? Hes on every fuckng album cover! Can someone explain that one please?

  • Fire Down Under gehört zu den besten 100 Metal-Alben aller Zeiten.

  • Great album and Band Rock on Mark R.I.P!!!

  • Electric eye are you talking about Tygers of pantang? They were badass too.

  • Id like to say R.I.P. Mark Reale. I was fortunate enough to see Riot with Rush wayyyyy back, but was a fan since. Swords and Tequilla forever. RnR will forever miss you Mark.

  • Another great one gone...Thanks for the years of tunes, Mark! Was listening to this driving just this week...Fire Down Under & Narita are staples in my collection and always will be...

  • R.I.P. Mark Reale... Thanks for all the memories & fantastic music...

  • RIP Mark !! sadly missed!!

  • I am so glad you put this on here dude. No one around me has ever heard of these guys. Another one of my heroes gone too soon. R.I.P. Man !

  • This band why they weren't more popular in the United Sated is still baffling to me considering all the great records they put out !!

  • R.I.P.MARK.SUCH A LOSS.

  • RIP Mark...I am stunned.

  • Das einzig gute Album von Riot. Sehr gute Songs, die ich auch heute noch gerne höre.

  • The lyrics, the riffs, and the beat. Many bands answered but few delivered. This album is among the few.

  • They're TOURING BB Kings in NYC in January 2012 !!! Get 'em now!

  • fantastic band. and to those who ignore them based on their mascot.... i pity you. a band that meant serious business with a sense of humor.

  • Thanks for posting these tunes. It takes me back to high school when things were much more simpler !

  • ah hell yeah man

  • Chorus reminds me of thin lizzy

  • one of those rare gems that every tune jams, a must for any party, also Motorheads Ace of Spades or Iron Maidens first release1

  • Have this on vinyl from back in those days. Very talented and underrated band (and some would argue..."influential" band also.In fact, some of you ARE arguing about the "influencing" heh...IMO everyone borrowed from everyone in the early 80s, and most of them probably didn't even realize they were doing it. It was a great time, with a lot of excellent releases). Thanks for the upload, very happy to hear this again after all these years.

  • One of the GREATEST album of ALL times!...I own PROUDLY a copy !

  • One of my Faves from the eighties! Still have the recorded tape! Haven't bought it yet on disc. Going to buy this and Tygers of Pan Tang!!

  • @electriceye7 Crazy Nights is almost impossible to find.

  • @electriceye7 Tygers were another hugely underrated band, especially the John Sykes period

  • A rare album with not an ounce of filler. Great start to finish.

  • this album rocked!! Seriously.

  • one of the all time best metal albums

  • Ya Vol !

  • Zusammen mit "hundersteel" ist "Fire Down Under" das beste Riot Album und dies ist der beste Song aus diesem Meisterwerk.

  • Awesome awesome stuff. So may great unknown bands from this era and movement. It's a shame. I guess they had a lot to compete with back then but these guys should have made it. How does a band like Nickleback or Theory of a Deadman become popular? Sad sad music industry. Is it illegal downloading or crap artists that are tanking them? Equally strong case for both

  • I was 15 in 81.I wish I had heard of these guys back then.I remember hearing swords and tequila some time in the early 80's but i didnt know who did it and it was the only song id ever heard of them untell youtube.I like every song on this album but swords, and this one are my faves

  • theres not a bad song on this whole album, one of my favorites

  • Guitar, vocals, drums, everything Totally F'N KILLER!!! The Power & the Glory through Wild Woods Calling!! Oh Yeah! Oh Yeah! Absolutely RockiN' Song!!

RIP Guy Speranza RockiN' Hard in Rock N Roll Heaven Forever!!

  • Yep, still sounds freakin AMAZING. what a good ass band they were. We used to do this, rock city, 49er, road racin. whoo .Good years , good times.

  • Yep, still sounds freakin AMAZING. what a good ass band they were.79 or so was fine fine year. We used to do this, rock city, 49er, road racin. whoo.

  • Yep, still sounds freakin AMAZING. what a good ass band they were.79 or so was fine fine year.

  • Hm... am I the only one who sort of hears a similarity to Ozzy's Bark at the Moon in this?

  • i cannot belive, i can remember the riffs after all this time, just shows what metal is all about, its life and death rolled into 1,

  • This is the best album by the most underrated metal band of all time. Every song leterally kicks ass

  • Riot kicked some serious ass! Not really given the credit they deserved, but we are huge fans of them here in Sacramento, Ca!

  • no comments! Hands down and kneels on the ground to the greatest american heavy metal band ever!

  • Yes!!! This tune kicks fckn ASS!!! The old days of my life are still alive. Hell yeah.

  • When Rock-nRoll went Metal!

  • @michaeldondeo well put!

  • this shud be a staple on classic rock radio

  • Great song and great album...brings back memories of the 80's...good melodies, great guitar work and vocals...long live RIOT !!!

  • @Sunlovr54 long live riot!!!!!raarrgghhhh!!!

  • Quiet Riot doesn't hold a candle to theses guys , so quit bring there band name up in Riot videos. This is REAL hard rock/metal!!

  • This is the melody of consternated king, sat within the darkest, most morbid chamber of his rough-stoned castle, contemplating the imminent destruction of his once splendid kingdom.

  • Quiet Riot sucked! other than Randy was once a part of it! I heard this album before maiden, metallica & preist. thought it was the heaviest thing ever! been a long time since I've heard these songs! and they still rock!

  • It was my young years!!...Speranza was a good singer...good feeling...

very vest song of the album...that was when i was listening "Wango tango" from Francis Zegut on RTL radio...i was 14 or 15 years old...good good memories...I bought the album in "importation"...Motived!!!

  • who is that fucking seal?

  • @VisorTM

Johnny. He is the awesomest seal ever.

  • OK I HAVE TO CHIME IN ON THIS ONE AND I NEVER LEAVE COMMENTS ON YOUTUBE..THIS FUCKING BAND ROCKS AND ALL OF YOU GUYS ARE RIGHT, THIS ALBUM FIRE DOWN UNDER IS ONE OF MY FAVORITES OF ALL TIME, GREAT TASTE EVERYONE ON HERE HAS GOT A GREAT EAR. FUCKING ROCKS

  • when this came out I was one of the very few here that had heard of this band. we would jam it out during bonfires and everyone would just jam out on it. Execellent band.

  • metal and glam 'metal' are two different things

  • so cool, its not even funny

  • absolutely perfect. how can you not love this album. metal at its finest. one of the best bands of the 80s.

  • on the night!, thru the fire and the light, i hold my sword up, lighting, it strikes out!

  • i say ,where are you guy... this singer was the best for Riot. they are among the best during the 70-90s

  • This is one of my favorite metal albums of all time! Bar none! Way ahead of their time and if you give a good listen, innovators of the genre. Fricking awesome! I still only have the cassette, I am so glad someone posted this!!!

  • nothin quiet about a riot

  • soo!sweet!

  • NEVER confused these guys with Quiet Riot, punched anybody who did.

  • @markb174 lol,gud stuff

  • amazing ....The Band 'domine' played this one too(a cover, of course)

  • Great music, great time. Riot rulez.

  • BADASS BAND

  • Riot is a great band....this is their best album ... ....don't confuse these guys with the shlop hairband Quiet Riot

  • How could any one confuse them with Quiet Riot,Rock on and RIP guy

  • uh...because they're a bit obscure ....mention Riot to a typical 80's " metal " head and you'll get ..." oh ya mean Quiet Riot ? " ...that's how you could confuse them

  • Sounds like ride of the chariots thor.

  • djävligt bra låt. får hela götet att gunga. i love riot. and blue and white in sweden. heja blå-vitt.

  • This was one of those moments that will forever live in the history of rock. only the few have this moment in history! Kudos Riot!

  • This song has a powerful melody!

  • @ApettoPicozzato (Translation)

Fuck these metalheads of shit, they can only copy! This is a wonderful song of infinite traditional Italian music. Barboneggiate and get drunk, you know just what to do! w the great Italian music, w Italy and Naples! Go and hear Nino D'Angelo, namely the ABC of European pop music instead of deleting the comments, asshole.

  • Wow I drank more beers to this song than i could count, lol good thing i quit drinking!!

    great tune!!!!

  • great album great song great band

  • Comment removed

  • all the songs from this record are good

  • Used to play this song live all the time.. a great band, severely underrated..

  • this song brings back memories! my brothers and i played this song at a Christmas party to throngs of unsuspecting friends, families, kids, babies, lolas and lolos at a Filipino party in the 80's when we were 16, 17 and 18 y/o. sporting long black hair, wearing concert jerseys, tight jeans...we had comfortably placed ourselves in the "out" crowd! LMAO!

  • Raise your fists!! This is what it's all about!! Real metal makes you feel like you did when you were young. Such a gem of a song and a very underrated band. Been a Riot fiend for many years.

  • Riot- The Most Underrated Metal Legend.. been around since 1970s and been an influence to many metal bands since.. just like Judas Priest..

  • so great its the best cd ever i recomend u pay alot and get the import from japan its got extra bonus material found nowhere else.

  • When this album came out I saw the tour at the Cleveland Agora, small venue, standing in the front row, guitars in my face the entire evening. They played the entire album, first to last song, it was unreal! They sounded perfect, extremely tight. I will Never forget that night. All for about $7.00.

  • Metallica came to town (Indianapolis) Sept 17, 2009. I got a program for the World Magnetic Tour, and I saw the pics of Lars in the Riot Fire Down Under T-shirt. If any of you have a program, you know what I'm talking about. That was the first time I had heard of Riot. Anyway, this sounds pretty much like the NWBHM bands that Lars liked. But you can tell that they're American. Does anyone know how popular this band was? In '81, I was only 5 years old and never really heard of 'em.

  • YEAH RIOT-save the seals!

  • I was a roadie for Blue Oyster Cult when this came out. We all would listen to this album on the bus! good times

  • 2:51-3:03, sounds like "Aces High" from Iron Maiden.

  • Check out Maiden's 2 Minutes to Midnight and Riot's Swords & Tequila. This album paved the riff writing way for metal after it was released. Woo!!!

  • I think Metallica got the idea for the intro to "Damage, Inc. from the intro to this song. Metallica's version just sounds like a repeat of this intro.

  • I heard these guys on the radio the other day and about shit my pants! These guys are awesome. It's a shame I hadn't heard of them till now.

  • awsome guitar work, especially solo

  • Man... I will neva foget when this album came out... This is what it is all about ppl... Guy was a great talent. These boys neva got there qudoes they deserved.

  • my fave song off this album !!!!

  • opened up for them in 84..great guys...great time had by all...

  • I've only got two things to say about this:

    CRANK IT!

  • Yup, underated it is..but fans and metal lovers knows what is good and what's bad ;)

  • What I'd really like to know is what the hell is the thing on the album cover.

  • It's a harp seal

  • When I first heard Road Racin' on the Castle Donnington tape, I had to get Narita and then FDU. I saw Riot with Kiss and Vandenberg in the early 80's. Rhett Forrester was singing and his mic went out for some reason and he threw it down and stalked offstage with the band still playing???!!! I think the lead guitarist finished singing for Rhett. The rhythm guitarist's amp stopped working and the lead guitarist had to finish the solo and song. Had a lot of respect for the band, but not Rhett.

  • one of the most underated bands riot kicks ass

  • i agree.I think maybe their creepy mascot scared people away.

  • Hmmm Maybe if they had another artist for their album covers they may have had more success hell it worked for Maiden

  • Ive been a Riot fan since I discovered them back in the early 80's and they are the best kept secret in rock and roll history along side the Sensational Alex Harvey Band!

  • ¡¡AGUANTE RIOT!!Esto es Metal de Verdad

  • 2nd best song ever made!...Hot for love on the Narita album is No.1....Riot Rocks!

  • Hot for love!!! one of my favourites!!!

  • altar of the king......just bloody great

  • great band first 3 albums are timeless

  • I COULDN'T AGREE MORE!!!

  • One of the top 10 best metal songs eva, not a bad band eiva

  • I been a Riot fan since 81. They are one of the best kept secrets in Rock n Roll and never got the credit they deserved.

  • Riot should have created a Riot, but alas, they remain in the quagmire of long forgotten bands that should have made it far beyond the likes of Priest and Maiden!!

  • they were awesome but they had too many band problems, lineup changes all over the place.I guess they hated each other , but it doesn't show in there music.Riot forever.

  • my cousin was marrieds into this band before this album- riot fuckin' rocked & still do - we still do a lot off this album- r.i.p. guy speranza.....

  • rip guy- we're gonna miss ya bro- but alter of is on my next cd & so is don't hold back- long live guy

  • This whole album kicked serious ass in early 80's and still does today! I remember I used to tell people about Riot and how good this album was...and they all would say.."you mean Quiet Riot?" That used to piss me off..I'd say "NO" I said Riot ! Damn...I hated Quiet Riot!

  • How come not many riot fans made a bigger deal about Narita? They jammed more on that one, better songs I think too.

  • Love Narita and their Debut "Rock City" Great stuff on Narita if only Steve Loeb would have produced Narita the production was rushed bigtime for Capitol records there is quite a story involving the whole matter on Narita. Sammy Hagar knows whats up I think he should have helped these guys more if he had anything to say about it. Anyway I say Production was the reason. FDU has the sound and attitude of a legendary Metal record!

  • SAME THING MAN! I live near Seattle and only a few thousand lucky people ever found about these guys I listen to em everyday Riot has been a staple for me as has UFO, And Y&t!!

  • if ya loved this try the road racing album....but this is the best `.

  • @kodiak1966 same here, there was no comparison between the two.

  • @kodiak1966 Personally I like both Riot and Quiet Riot. To each his own.

Fire Down Under is a phenomenal album, btw.

  • @kodiak1966 yeah its hard to beat this band and l agree, seen quiet riot and theres no comparison to this band at all. l just did not like quiet riot

  • @kodiak1966 woahhhh theyre both amazing.

  • @kodiak1966 Yep I use to get the same thing and it pissed me off too.... Riot was GREAT!

  • @kodiak1966 yeah stupid general public

  • @kodiak1966 ....I went through the same thing with people!

  • @kodiak1966 ha ha ha I think most knowledgable rock fans hated Quiet Riot, and would have much preferred Riot, but have to admit the suicide of Kevin Dubrow was quite sad

  • @kodiak1966 exactly the same here, these days its worse cos Riot are still going strong, but nobody seems to notice them

  • dont get me started!!!!!!! Riot Rocked

  • did i mention we played this, swords, the outlaw & don't hold back... riot freakin' rocked

  • great song & my cousin was maried to jimmie- but no vis- still good

  • I think KIP LEMMING deserves the credit for his Bass playing on this album along GUY, SANDY, RICK And Mark. Kip was also bass on RESTLESS BREED album when Rhett came on board...

  • Whole album is top

  • All my buddies in HS thought I was a genius finding RIOT. I used to come up with some good ones; Rage, Talas, Headpins, DVC, Shooting Star, More, etc...BTY, this album used to get me laid...ha! I used to know what that was...

  • I agree totally with the previous poster Excellent band.

  • Way before thier time. One of the most underated albums ever. Nice post.

  • I'd go as far as saying it's THE most under-rated rock album ever. I'm not that into their other albums but Fire Down Under is just magnificent.
