Yeah to chop samples you will need the program called Recycle for reason. It is probably the best sample chopper out there...

they say blah blah blah abotu whats best to get, and they say the MPC and shit, i mean its an amazing peace of work, but that is expensive, plus you need a keyboard, so get the akai MPK 49, 12 MPC style drum pads, and 49 keys. plus arpeggiator with latch function, and note repeat for the drums, with 8 different speeds for both of those functions. and nobs and sliders, you'll get it when you buy it haha, plus the fact that its only around 400 on the market
