  • Nice video guys real nice.

  • i love your vid! i love Cocktoos you are so lucky to have such an experiance to see them free flying in the 'wild'. Pretty angels :)

  • yesterday I got bitten by my african grey! and yea it hurts! I wanted to kill him !

  • bet he gets all the bitches

  • so cute !

  • very nice

  • amazing video!

  • haha nice i live in Australia every year we get all different types of cockatoos coming to our house, they love eating almonds from our trees, a lot of times the whole flock comes to eat, about 40 of them and i only live 15mins from the city, don't even have to go to the bust to see them :)

  • You do know that your not supposed to feed wild birds because if people keep feeding them they won't know how to find the food their selves

  • cockatoos around where l live act the same way, they flock pensioners sitting outside cause they know old ppl cant resist their cuteness, lol.

  • wtf why dont u catch them?????????

  • @laughalotrot It's illegal.

  • Ummm for the most part, bread isn't great for birds...gives them the runs..

  • well of course their claws are sharp! You should have worn something thick over your arms.

  • youll have those scars for a while those nails they have can do some mager damage have a look at my cockatoo video have one of him opening his cage a running away

  • a glimpse of heaven:))

this s the way these beautiful birds should be left to live...thanks a lot for sharing this wonderful video.

  • Full of "cockys" hahahha

  • Ouch i forgot how sharp the nails can be when not trimmed!!!

  • I would of exempted to catch one

  • you should bring the music it will bring the wild parrot to dancing and show off their yellow umbrella head

  • Wow. Who knew that wild cockatoos, would be so personable? They seem so friendly. We designed a cockatoo piece that we're particularly proud of. If you like cockatoos, we recommend taking a gander at it and let us know what you think!

  • I do not get why anyone hates those cockys. when they scratch you its only because they have grasping tallens

  • Beautyful birds.

But from their reaction, it seems like they are used to getting fed by people.

Oh and also: Alfred Hitchcock comes to mind ^^

  • my armmm

  • Woow, i want to go there to!

  • i would had kept one

  • TY FOR SHARING THIS WITH US

  • Cockatoos are the best species of parrots ever :)

  • well besides the scratches i would have LOVE to take pcres of them, wild, in the trees, so pretty!

  • It's not good to feed birds bread--harmful for them. Feed bird seeds (like sunflower seeds) instead.

  • @MarthaH605 It's not good to feed them seeds either. An abundance of seeds in there diet kills there liver. far better off with proteins or fruits.

  • i hope there are birds in Heaven

  • STOP SAYING COCKYS!!!! THAT'S HORRIBLE!

  • hey i live in glenbrook!!!!!

    glenbrook rules!!!!!

  • Looks like demon cuts...:(

  • I'm glad you enjoyed your stay in my own home town. I have grown up here in the Blue Mountains. unfortunately many of the locals here don't like the Sulphur Crested Cockatoos but I just think they are gorgeous. They are not shy and they love to be fed (although bread isn't so good to feed them) by people.

  • wow that bird is wild and is already more tamed than mine

  • Those cuts - That's what you get for being such a well trained feeding station! Can you remember what park this was in at Glenbrook (there are quite a few)? Glenbrook is only half an hour from here so I might head up there on the weekend.

  • @verticalsmurf Euroka Clearing... one of my favourite places on the planet.

  • @parrotscience Oh yeah, I've heard of that place - very nice area, such a shame about the problem it has with Brown Snakes, Death Adders and Red-Bellied Black snakes . . . not to mention the funnel-web spiders . . .

Hehe nah they're not that problematic. That said, in the unlikely event that anyone visiting here gets bitten by a spider or a snake, don't stuff around, call emergency services. A 15 year old was killed by a brown snake in Western Sydney last year - only 20 miles east of this place

  • I wish we had cockatoos here. I'd feed them every day.

  • Bread isn't good for birds.

  • Great video! The seagulls of Australia :)

  • this is amazing.ware long sleeves next time.they are all like kids its so funny.

  • FANTASTIC!

  • I had a similar experience with seagulls up in Maine. Birds are amazing!

  • actually. a cockatoo bite is worse than a macaw

  • Sometimes I wish I could enjoy Cockatoos from afar, like this in the wild. I have a Cockatoo, who, in my estimation is like having a "rain man" in the family...lol.

  • Those bites it's more the pressure then the cut that causes the most trauma. But Cockatoos are noted for there friendliness (when kept as pets) and it's likely they have a lot of human exposure at that reserve.

  • Nice quality for 1999!

  • I adore cockatoos; they are truly amazing birds! Ours is a little ball of fluff and love!! <3

  • You've got a big cockatoo........... On your arm

  • Awesome!

  • Dude, sounds like someone watches alot of "survivor man" "seems like"

  • Considering this video was filmed in 1999, I'm guessing maybe survivorman watches this!

  • Survivorman should be paying you royalties for that laid back commentary style. lol

  • don say toe nails :p they're birds say claws....

  • are you delirium

  • COOL

  • Incredible.

  • You wacky Canadians! :) It's a good thing you were wearing glasses, so they wouldn't peck your eyes out. lol

  • @Blackhawkflygirl i thought they were australians

  • @narutoandavatarrocks - On his channel it states Canada, and he has a Canadian accent. They must have been on holiday in Aus. :)

  • Don't feed birds bread!

  • ? why not?

what if it is a 12 grain wheat bread?

  • @ogias

If you are more comfortable with the bread group, give them a "Fruit Cake for the Birds" seed wreath.

  • Nice! Interesting and informative video.Hi with Bertík ! :))

  • i be really jealous :P

  • that was a very small bite lol, a parrot like this can bite 10 times harder

  • logic may suggest those parrots are wild however people might already been there cause it's weird how the parrots stand on the hand like they have done that before

  • these birds are smarter than you think, Cronic.

They'll know when it's safe and come get free food. :D

  • I agree w/ FBIRyan. That was a love nibble.

You were lucky to have escaped w/ those wounds. Cool experience, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it... especially with the enough biting force to crack open a walnut, a thumb or finger would be like a cocktail pepperoni. At least you didn't have kids out there. Then I'd have to smack you. =?p

  • that would freak me out

  • Your really shouldn't feed wild cockies, it can make them to dependent on the person handing out food... I know form experience there used to be a cockatoo that would walk into my kitchen if the door was open and beg for food =\

  • One feed Will Not Make them Dependant on People handing out food, And before you argue the point of if "everyone does it once" or something along those lines Just consider the maths behind it.

  • Great video...These birds are so intelligent.

I live in the states and have 8 of these beauties...They are great talkers, dancers and so smart....

  • Bleached crows.

  • Try getting bit by a Macaw.

    Best feeling ever.

  • @FBIRyan over rated and exspensive,,,cockatoos are mumerous in number, cheap and just as smart

  • @FBIRyan I think I will have this scar forever...curse you Mojo

  • @FBIRyan umm hey why do people complain about there bites so much huh? my macaws bites dont even hurt parakeet bites hurt more there like sharp jagged little beak diggin into your skin

  • @sammymunir

A.) You have a miniature macaw of some type.

B.) You're macaw never bit you with full force.

Our macaw doesn't often bite with full force.

But when she does, it's over.

Our friend had to go to E.R. to put back on half his lip.

And I've been close to full force and had crushed bones / deep scars.

  • @sammymunir

She's a Green Winged Macaw, by the way. ;)

  • @FBIRyan Oh yeah I almost got my pinky finger taken off by one of those suckers

  • @WARRIORofHARDCORE

    XDDD

Glad to hear you got to keep your finger though. ;)

  • @FBIRyan

yeah but there is an extra knuckle now lol

  • wow

  • cockies.....................lol!

  • exotic version of seagulls :)

  • There nails are designed for scrapping off inchs of bark off of tree's, flesh it like a sharp knife with paper :X They're also known to split open pine cones, those are hard to open.

  • is it hot down there

  • id try put 1 in my car!

  • hahaha u look scared shitless

  • Wow! Amazing footage! Thanks for sharing! Guess nobody clips these guys' toenails...

  • duude i havent clipped my birds nails sense i got him

  • What park in Glennbrook were you at? I live about 45 mins away and would love to meet these birds!

  • of what i have heard, bread is not good for a bird's digestive system...

  • Correct. Large amounts of bread like that are not a good idea. A little bit is good but as a meal like that it's probably not an excellent idea...

  • ew have two rescued ones. Peaches a Moluccan, abandoned at age 16 y/o and Albert, Umbrella Cockatoo, wife of the couple is terminally ill. we love them dearly and they are spoiled rotten. the kids already compete to see which ones will raise them when we are gone. 5 stars, and fave.

  • Albert is only 15 months old. both have had their DNA tests for their gender.

  • nice man

  • Nice touch with the creative "don't do this at home" at the end; kind of still have the horror crow movie where one starts scouting a person and suddenly they start swarming all over from all directions and the girls start screaming!! Lol.

    Awesome interaction

  • LOL! I guess you were probably expecting claw marks anyhoo, if they were going to land on you. ;-) They need em sharp for all that tree climbing malarkey.

    Brilliant vid. I'm jealous.

    5/5 and fave.

  • 5 star,great vid,well done

  • Wow! I wish I can be there with the wild cockatoos.

  • priceless great video

  • 2:14 priceless, they sit next to you like old friends discussing a story. and they are certainly not shy are they and yes they have an extra painful bite they have a three pronged beak with beveled botom beaks that form corners on the two edges.

  • niceee!!! your so lucky :)

  • Such beautiful birds!!

  • Wow, I didn't know wild cockatoos had such sharp claws!! They are beautiful, you're very lucky no matter the scratches. ^_^

  • Those are really beautiful! i wish that i could get a cockatoo! (Woot first comment!!)
