now this was a damn good race, and it's a damn shame NASCAR left such a wonderful track. No other place like it, this is the only track where there's racing all around the field

I live in wilkesboro and i am 17, i think its a shame that they shut down the speedway, where one of the places where nascar began. I went to this race i was only 4 years old but i remember it good.

RIP North Wilkesboro, 1947-1996

On Sunday, September 29th of 1996, Jeff Gordon won the final Winston Cup (now Sprint Cup) race at North Wilkesboro Speedway. The late Dale Earnhardt Sr. was the final runner-up (2nd) at that track, his first top-5 finish in 12 races.

I hope someone buys North Wilksboro Speedway and does something with it hell theres so many other racing series out there like the truck series or the Nationwide series or the Hooters pro cup or the modifides hell put dirt down on the track and run dirt races

Someone will hopefully/eventually buy the track but it shouldn't be 12Million dollars should be like 10Million because of the condition because it would cost about 3-5 million dollars to get the track raceable again. But if it ever get's back up and going again it would be great because hopefully some series in Nascar or Arca will come here again.
