no seriously if you like the association of islam as a religion with every aspect of muslim imperialism, far be it for me to criticize your taste. think about it, iqbal has many good points as a poet, but who are his ardent fans these days? empires grow and recede and muslim kings have been great conquerors and mixed in that greatness can be many cruelties and injustices that they have inflicted on their own people.

Yup! the need of the world today is hardly to portray sword weilding side of Muslims to either our younger generations or to the rest of the world. Imperialistic past or not - the present does not allow for any dreams of conquests for swords.

More attention is needed to guide the Muslim youth towards the tolerant and enlightening aspects of Islam and Islamic history - and not towards dropping subtle hints in favor of armed conflict of sorts.
