good demonstration, however I think he will explode and get his head up before you can secure a forearm on his head.. unless the opponent is extremely tired.
@sipplet2009 I looked up this art form and there are a whole whack of 'arts' with this name: a kempo style, judo style, aikido style...or sub styles...or whatever. Which one do you dabble in? It will give more more information to respond once I get a clear picture. BJJ does have tricky set ups sometimes. You need that when you are facing other experienced fighters. However, I would say 80% of all the moves are grounded in simple gross motor skills.
Thanks for all the kind words guys, Glad you like the technique all though I like to share videos with Ari and th guys @Submissions101 I have a large amount of videos on my own channel as well @10thplanetrochester , feel free to subscribe.-Chris Herzog
@sipplet2009 except you'll not beat a bjj fighter with shin gi tai...I just watched some videos of "shin gi tai"...to keep it brief, lets just suggest you take some bjj classes...
Surely when you're putting your forearm across the back of his head, you're pushing his head down so you could then slip in the darce choke. So you could use the japanese neck tie as a set up for the darce ?
There's actually an option for a sweep for the guy on bottom called a "nogueria sweep". Hillary Wiliams has a great video on it from the half guard. Great technique though!
@xXFrankyEmFutproXx There are only so many ways to choke a human being so SET UPS become super important as people learn counters to what they encounter on a daily basis.
@Submissions101 The annoying thing is the act of naming every setup like it's a new hold. This is a cross arm choke, just a different setup. Don't get me wrong, I love the setup, but it doesn't need a new name.
@xXFrankyEmFutproXx by "same" youmean theres an arm in there with the neck? this technique is different in almost every other way from an arm-triangle.that being said, you cant just squeeze an arm and neck together from any position with all your strength and expect people to tap.without that leg and without tucking the opponents head into your stomach you wont get the tap.squeeze all day, even with a poorly applied arm triangle you can squeeze all day. arm triangle is more simlar to legtriangle
@Submissions101 Does 10th planet jj have any videos on position where one person is standing and one is on their back. Like whats some effective ways to engage your opponent from each sides perspective? In tournaments I get stuck there a lot and im not sure what to do and how I should re engage my opponent.
this seems more like a crank than a choke, no?

Kamasutra?

this setup is unbelievable... we have a guy who's one of those 10% of people who is impossible to tap. got him in this and he tapped immediately.

I like it. Also check out the KY necktie...

the key to this submission is really get that top forearm and digging it in trying to get it down to the mat.

Could you do a video showing how to transition from a single leg takedown to a kneebar? I've seen rousimar palhares use it pretty effectively

I'd like to see all of these chokes done with MMA gloves, not quite as easy to slide your hand through then

cant you just tripod to pin them in a wrestling match, if you found you self in that position, w/out trapping the leg???
SanchezJacob411 6 months ago
@SanchezJacob411 Submissions101, and 10th Planet JJ are almost strictly submission grappling. No pins.

@Submissions101 is this a choke or a neck crank?
beargrylls3 6 months ago
@beargrylls3 Choke
Uzu70 6 months ago
@beargrylls3 Looks basically like a Brabo to me... if it's not a crank, it looks like it can turn into one quick if you're positioning isn't right.

@Mandelbrot yeah it does because those are positions that we work different things off of.

@xXFrankyEmFutproXx arm triangle is the basic choke in it's category, of course everything will look like it.

@IronlVIan Check out "open guard options", or even "standing open guard options". You should find a couple possibilities.
