@lanakaui8 Her suit doesn't give her good grip on the helmet? lol, I have no idea, it is kinda dumb in a sense, but I guess it was for the ability to play as Zero Suit Samus.

On boss difficulty, I would say Queen Metroid was only due to the Metroids coming out, but in reality, its all ridiculously easy due to the quick dodge crap, so I just try to avoid using the quick dodge thing. The Metroid Prime series (1 & 2 especially) and Super Metroid had great bosses.

metroid: other M, takes place before the prime series. it goes back into her past and explains everything leading up to the prime series. metroid prime takes place during the time period whe the galactic federation is strewn about the galaxy to the point in which it holds no power, and the space pirates run free. along with echoes as well. metroid prime 3 occurs solely because of the fact that the dumbass metroid prime essence from the end of one, refused to die. but then there wouldn't be a 3rd

@ikilluforcoffe That can't be true, the Metroids are eradicated in this game completely. I doubt they would do another story that involves genetic engineering, so any game taking place after this would not have any Metroids, such as Metroid Fusion.

The Metroid Prime series happened in between Metroid (Zero Mission) and Metroid II, since those two games are where Metroids exist and aren't near extinction.

@Anumizte Kind of the problem with naming the whole series after the creature isn't it ?

Samus mission in Metroid 2 was to eradicate the species, one survived. The hatchling/baby, was the last and marked the extinction of the species in Super Metroid.

Then both Other M and Fusion featured cloned/enginered Metroids based on the dna from the hatchling. By the end of both game, they are once again eradicated.

So i guess we can expect them to return again, wouldn't be a Metroid game without them. ;)

Other M game story itself takes place toward the end of metroid's timeline.

The canon timeline is: M:Zero Mission - M:Prime - MP:Hunters - MP2:Echoes - MP3:Corruption - M2:Return Of Samus - Super Metroid - M:Other M and finally M:Fusion.

The Prime trilogi takes place during the Space Pirates/mother brains defeat after the first game, while the pirates rebuild Zebes and revieve Mother Brain.

I always loved those escape moments, plus everything has to have a self-destruct sequence right? That makes it more epic! (kidding but...) Like Raccoon city. You gotta blow up the lab and escape on a train! Oh wait, dang! The train has one too! Hilariously enough, the chopper you ride into the sunset in those games also have self-destruct sequences too... when the protagonists get dropped off, the pilot has to get back before the thing kersplodes...talk about adrenaline rush!

I love the primes I bought this game too. I wasn't expecting the Prime feel to it, I expected to know about ADAM, and what happened to him. I think THAT'S the reason people were bitchin'. Yes it does has it flaws, a side from the obvious dialogue it isn't bad. This wasn't suppose to be a Prime too, did you not read the title? "Metroid Other M" not "Metroid Other M Prime 4". I think it's a pretty cool, game a side from it's flaws, I agree with SomeCallMeJohnny on most flaws :) Watch his reviews!

Pretty much what BWGgy said. While I do take issue with the fact that certain story aspects of Other M blatently ignores a bunch of other Metroid story and it doesn't really compare with a lot of the other games, it's fun as a standalone title and bridges the gap between Super and Fusion.

This and Nightmare were the two worst parts of Other M. Both bosses just didn't have the creativity of the rest of the game. Sure the cut scenes were annoying, but having played (and enjoyed) FF13 I learned to deal with them.

I admit, this was the most bittersweet boss fight in the game. When I heard they were going back to Metroid's roots after the Prime series, I thought that it meant we'd see more of THIS. I would have much rather fought a bunch of ancient, electrical space ghosts than a bunch of bugs piled together into one. I'm fairly neurtal about Other M, in that I there I things I love and things I hate, but why they'd make such a cool enemy an option secret fight just perplexes me to no end.

One of the few things I don't like about this game is that...She's talking! The fact that she was quiet and never spoke a word made her the bad ass she always was. It made her mysterious. But I guess you can only make a storyline go so far with a non-talking character who was never really shown interacting with anybody. Either way. She's still a bad ass.
