Ahh yes, I had that problem a long time ago too. Get version 0.102. Its on MAME's site.

i got it and unzipped it(got like 3000 files). But when i try to launch the mame app , it says u should try to launch this app from a command prompt. And gives me this documentation i don't understand! Please any help would be appreciated!

Mine is sort of slow also and the audio repeats a little. I think getting the MAME32 Plus from Cheatman64 will make it run smoother.

Try turning frame skipping to 0, that's what I did and it plays just like the arcade.

F8 is to decrease the frame rate, F9 is to increase. Also, download different verisons of MAME and test them out, some will run Carnevil smoother than others. I think MameGUI might work well.

if you can't handle it, you can turn off the gore. I found a way to set it to green or red blood, full gore, or none. None just makes them look like dust being shot. Also, when Evil Marie is killed, they skip the scen where she is impaled. With Tokkentaker, he just falls through the blades like if they weren't there. I will upload a vid on how to set the gore level.

if you want to calibrate gun in the game (That never pus to play ): ) press F2 and enter to test menu and select Gun Calibration and shoot in the X two times and click to acept calibration and press A 3 times to exit and select exit and the gun are calibrated.

hmmm, i told you about this emulator and repeat: i tested this emulator, but still the problem the Game hangs after to beating any boss in the Rickety Town and Freak Show.

and now...

Mame32 0.102 is already fixed it and Game is Full Playable and more or less better speed like HK2V9, but is version you can finish the game without Hangs.

you need calibrate target cursor to working fine. Press F2 to enter Test Menu and select Calibrate Gun.

Also, for the Gun Calibration, it wants me to do gun 2 but I can't set or use any controls for gun 2. My video card is an nVidia 6600 GT.

There are buttons on your keyboard for 2nd Gun by default:

R=Up

F=Down

D=Left

G=Right

A=Trigger/Fire

S=Pump/Reload

ok, all this, just try to calibrate for 2nd Gun, if you can.

Intel Core 2 Duo is very faster than a Pentium 4. i think a 3.7 Ghz or 4 Ghz of Speed is recommended to play this game and Mame32 V 0.102 Recommended too.

Good news. I found an arcade emulator that runs this game better. I think its my ROM. Some guy online said you needed 3 GHz or faster to play it.

i hope if you have mame32 version 0.102 or higher, because the early versions, the game hangs afther to beating any boss in the Rickety Town and Freak Show, but the boss in Haunted House nothing hanging. (I still Bad English).

Well I found out, its my CHD. My computer is good enough to run it (because there's parts where the game runs perfectly). I use this emulator called HK2V9. It runs the game much better than MAME.
