The Wii Remote itself has a depth mode. It uses the leds in the sensor bar that depending the distance between the leds, it makes the pointer near or away the screen. Try it in Photo Channel, Play mode.

I think it's hilarious on Wii videos when people will always comment how it looks better on other systems. Funny thing though.. Nintendo doesn't aim for the crowd of people that want amazing graphics, they aim for people who want a new experience. You don't see the Wii trying to copy graphics from PS3 and 360 do you? No. But do you see those systems trying to copy the motion mechanics that Nintendo revolutionized? I think yes.

Also the thing about the wii mote... you know there is a rubber jacket that you can get. Infact wether you buy the motion plus by itself, or get a game bundle that comes with it (such as Red Steel 2) it comes with the jacket as well. That's what will also protect your TV especially seeing that you have kids. Also apparently there are some jackets you can buy for the PS Move. I don't know if they are rubbery or not.
The flaw with the camera was that you had it aiming too low, which is why when you put your arm up, it went out of the frame. Your head wasn't in the frame either. All you had to do was tilt it up more. It had nothing to do with the amount of space (or software) because that's about as much space as I have in my room. You can also buy a mounting bracket for the eye camera that clips to the top of your tv (made by Sony).

well the wii uses a sensor bar and the move uses camera motion movement and if u plan on getting the kinect it has like 3 cameras its like sky-net man and it wont be as accurate as you think lets just say is a smaller version of an xbox its going to overheat and die pretty fast and there going to be like 150$ and the move is about the same price if you get the bundle and the nav but you get more out of it a camera a game a controller witch for me is a really good deal

I think wii but I am biased towards it because I own 1 and come on move came out 1-2 years after the wii and consider this even if you have that ball it doesn't mean your tv is invincible. What if the controller hit the tv sideways then what?? Also come on Sony you too Microsoft make your own revolutionary system don't copy others!!
