Great Video!! Would like to ask for you to make another video on wearing goggles with your swim cap, and what works better, to either have your goggle strapps under the cap or on the outside. Thanks!!
You can kinda tell the difference between silicone and latex by the way it smells. Latex has a bit of a scent to it, silicone really doesn't have any scent.
@musicraze66 I don't believe you could tell the difference just by looking...But if you could feel them, you would be able to tell that the silicone is a little bit thicker and feels, I guess the word is stronger. It doesn't stretch as much and as easily as the latex does. I like to think of latex caps as a slightly stronger balloon. It has the same characteristics. And cloth caps are just to keep your hair out of your face, water can still get in, so they don't protect from chlorine.
@bizarrasp I've tried using 2 caps at once but for me it just gives me a headache and makes my head feel heavy. I don't think it would protect your hair any more than using one cap :)
Thanks for your video, best swimcap video here. I was curious to know if you think it's better wear the swimcap in the change room or just before entering the water. And I would like to know if wearing 2 swimcaps are better to protect the hair.
@bizarrasp Thanks, I appreciate that! And I personally prefer to put my swim cap on when I'm in the water and after I have gotten it (especially the inside) and my hair wet. Having the inside of the swim cap wet makes it much easier to get the cap over your hair/head. Plus, it's more comfortable/natural that way. (Plus, and I'm not 100% sure so don't take my word for it, but I've had more latex caps break on me when they're dry that when they are wet. So it might be better for the cap too).
@bizarrasp (2/2) Also, I've never tried wearing two caps on at the same time, but in my opinion it would be slightly more awkward because it'd make your head heavier (since I've never tried it, I'm not sure if it'll be THAT much heavier or not). But lag is lag, and if you're racing, I wouldn't want that extra weight. Now if you mean if it will keep one from breaking sooner or whatnot, I would say it wouldn't matter because most breaks happen when stretching/putting on. So you'd have more chance-
@shaanongreene I personally prefer the silicone. 1) because it's tighter and less breakable/lasts longer 2) because it looks cooler and 3) this one is reversible - so there's a white on black and a black on white. I know not every one of the silicone caps is like that, but this one is. Basically silicone caps are better if you swim a lot and use caps when you swim - but if you just swim every once in a while and aren't on the swim team or anything, I'd say go with the latex because it's cheaper.
Thanks for your video! I just bought my daughter a swim cap for her lessons and I had no clue as to how to put it on or take it off! :)

Is there any way to know if a cap is silicone or latex just by looking at it? I couldn't find it on the bag. And are cloth caps good too?

@bizarrasp - of two caps breaking sooner than one. Hope that helps! If you have any more questions, I'd be glad to try and answer them! :)
