2001 was a sad year for many people. 911...dales death....and many other reasons but the true and loving loving fans of dale will always be respected by me and by dale. may dale remain happy and loved in heaven forever. i hope no one ever forgets the year of 2001.
i was at the track the day he got killed. i was a big earnhardt fan and seeing that crash just changed something in me. i was always the bad one the daredevil and now just knowing that some day im going to be in heaven and im going to see dale again. it sucks to know that hes gone and i wish some days that the crash never happend. but i respect how he raced and most people don't.

All they had was a seatbelt and roll cage, and thats about it. when he hit the wall at about 100 m.p.h. , he hit it dead on and by the way the seatbelts were it might have snapped his neck. I live in Cornelius right beside race city USA....Mooresville, raised in Kannapolis, and lived many a year in Charlotte where now there is the hall of fame, down the road is Carowinds with The Intimidator roller coaster named after him with a beatuful replica of his #3 BF goodwrench chevy.
Awesome! My wife and I were there on February 18, 2001 watching that great race live. We stayed a couple extra days and went to Daytona USA to sign the Dale Earnhardt memorial. We are pictured signing it in the(Death Of A Champion) Issue of the Sports Illustrated. We also wound up in several other mags and three hard cover books of Dales life.
I am one person that seen the wreck happen in real life. I was there, my uncle got pit passes and I was watching him race for the finish line and then it happened. You think quiet you have no idea after that wreck the whole track was silent. I am a very unemotional person but seeing Jr go to his dads car was tear jerking and it was one of the most sad moments ive ever witnessed. Watch this video and think it looks bad and ill tell you it was a lot worse being there. Trust me.
I never got to see this race, today is the first time I watched his crash. I didn't get home till that night from winter camp with my church. As soon as I walked in the door the first thing my dad said even before he said hi to me, is that Dale Sr. had passed away today in the race, I was in shock and tears, I couldn't believe it, he was my favorite driver. i remember when this happened..I live down 2streets away from Indianapolis Motor Speedway.. The previous years i went to the race to see Sr. And later on Jr....we always bought our tickets in advance for the race.I was not yet 11 when this happened and i cried..Nascar has always been a big thing in my family. Dale Sr. was the nicest and most generous racer out there. I got his autograph when i saw him in a store in S. Carolina. I walked up to him and asked him and he said sure and signed it. than he gave me a hug and said im gald your a fan. So dont ever say he deserved to die. i was at the track the day he got killed. i was a big earnhardt fan and seeing that crash just changed something in me. i was always the bad one the daredevil and now just knowing that some day im going to be in heaven and im going to see dale again. it sucks to know that hes gone and i wish some days that the crash never happend. but i respect how he raced and most people don't.

@DJsuckafoolMC because back in 2001 they didnt have all of the high tech saftey gear in their car. All they had was a seatbelt and roll cage, and thats about it. when he hit the wall at about 100 m.p.h. , he hit it dead on and by the way the seatbelts were it might have snapped his neck. IDK if that actually happened but thats my opinion

i was 6 years old when dale died. I wish i could've been watching that daytona 500 when he won, although i probably wouldn't have remembered it... I can now reenact 17 of dale's wins, he was a great driver and he will always be in our hearts.

I dont Blame the M&M car like some people did but i mean 160-180 MPH headonto a wall, pretty small chance of survival. Dale was and still is the best NASCAR driver in the history of the whole sport. Awesome! My wife and I were there on February 18, 2001 watching that great race live. We stayed a couple extra days and went to Daytona USA to sign the Dale Earnhardt memorial. We are pictured signing it in the(Death Of A Champion) Issue of the Sports Illustrated. We also wound up in several other mags and three hard cover books of Dales life.
Thanks for the memories!

I am one person that seen the wreck happen in real life. I was there, my uncle got pit passes and I was watching him race for the finish line and then it happened. You think quiet you have no idea after that wreck the whole track was silent. I am a very unemotional person but seeing Jr go to his dads car was tear jerking and it was one of the most sad moments ive ever witnessed. Watch this video and think it looks bad and ill tell you it was a lot worse being there. Trust me.

I never got to see this race, today is the first time I watched his crash. I didn't get home till that night from winter camp with my church. As soon as I walked in the door the first thing my dad said even before he said hi to me, is that Dale Sr. had passed away today in the race, I was in shock and tears, I couldn't believe it, he was my favorite driver. i remember when this happened..I live down 2streets away from Indianapolis Motor Speedway.. The previous years i went to the race to see Sr. And later on Jr....we always bought our tickets in advance for the race.I was not yet 11 when this happened and i cried..Nascar has always been a big thing in my family. Growing up with him as your idol and then you see the crash... It still gets to me. I have not been to a race since the last one i saw him in.

I started watching NASCAR in '96, had two favs right away Dale Sr and Jeff Gordon. And I loved watching them battle it out on the track.
