  • what the fuck is this... who the fuck post this...

  • @Cocobumbo call me at 717-330-1479

  • What kind of BSFC?

Also 400W seems a little under loaded for a 4.5kW motor.

  • thats the nicest sounding engine ive ever heard. i want one

  • I have one for sale, let me know if you want one...

  • @edutchie still have that for sale?

  • @Cocobumbo i have, $1750.00 new in crate

  • @edutchie still have listeroid for sale? i am interested in buying one, thanks chris

  • Have you ever run vegitable oil in it?

  • This sound is music in my ears.

Sounds like an old marine diesel! A potato engine! Potato Potato Potato

    In German: Kartoffel Kartoffel Kartoffel

  • How long have you been running that motor? Any problems with it? I am considering a "Listeroid" generator. Alittle feedback?

  • Do it!

We've been running this one for about 1 1/2 yrs with one minor rebuild after boiling off all the coolant. We put the engine under heavy load without checking the coolant level. It was low enough to stop convection and boiled off.

All we did was drop in new piston rings and rehone the cylinder.

  • Are you off-grid or is this for supplemental power? 13.5v x 30 amps = 405 watts. That isn't much of a load. Do you have a very large battery bank?

  • We are totally off-grid, and are ruuning a home office, and our house. We are very conservative with power as you can tell. The alternator is set up with a variable amperage control, so we can run a vacuum and power tools if we need to. The battery bank is probaly around 550 AH, connected to a 2500 watt true-sine inverter. The batteries are mostly for cushioning out the spikes in useage, however we usually shut the engine and inverter off during the night.

  • :D It's the tappets that do it for me...

  • I read somewhere that Listeroids are inferior to actual Listers. Is there any truth to this?

  • Yes that would be true as the Listeroids are made in India. I don't think their equipment and expertise would be as advanced as the British in the 40's whent the original Listers were being manufactured in Dursley, England. Hopefully the Indians will improve their quality as they gain experience.

  • Thanks :)

  • However, with proper tuning and care a Listeroid can last for a LONG time. I run mine 60 hr per week and it ticks away like an old clock. I love it! The simple engineering makes it easy to do your own maintainence.

  • I heard that if you do buy a new listeroid that its good practice to strip it down before you use it, to clean out the remaining sand left from the casting process, which can still be found in trace amounts in the sump

  • lovely sound
