Thank you so much for doing this series of videos. They have given me an awesome amount of practical training, more than I have received in the past several years. It is very hard to find good information without breaking the bank on video sets and online courses. I will make sure that I support your efforts and buy PI on DVD. Again, Thank You.
A quick question from one XSI user to a Maya user:
To me it looks like the "shadow map" that Lucas is referring to is the equivalent to Maya's innate ambient occlusion. Am I right about that or is he referring to depth map shadows?
Just watch Pigeon impossible followed by your entire series back to back. Thank you for all your time an effort. A great piece of animating followed by genuinely useful advice.
I am using Daz 3d so at the bottom end of programs, but I can still use a lot of your advice. I guess the key thing is planning, both before animating the movie and rendering - anything to save time!
Alright I watched pigeon impossible. thought it was sick than i watched everyone of your blogs. I'm just amazed i want to get into this but i have no idea where to start. Also why not working for pixar or something yet. You could start your own film company though. Congrats josh
All of them are a pleasure to follow and highly didactic.
That listen to critics point you mentioned is indeed very important. I like to think that if someone says anything else then "WOW!" it's because there's something wrong, but it sure is a pain decide whether to change it or not :) It's a very known feeling. But I surely wouldn't abide of the constructive critics over the internet, they are a "tool" as good as any 3D application :)
I really enjoyed this podcast! It was very rewarding to watch and learn alot about CGI. Although, I only use it as a special effect, it is still important to learn from what you have taught us. Thankyou. I can't wait to see your next project!
Not bad!! I like this!
