i love the fact that Vampire Diaries became a series.

unlike Twilight, we get to see what happens weekly and not yearly.

I LOVE THIS SHOW and i'm more obsessed with this show than i did with twilight.

i agree with you that they didn't copy twilight but TWILIGHT was first to bring out the vampire theme...

so in a way VAMPIRE DIARIES is a follow up to twilight even though the story was written first.

So i feel that twilight came FIRST to make a "vampire" story as entertainment, then vampire diaries followed; that's what everybody means by copied.
