anything taking place in the world of ffvii after the game doesn't make sense. The final cutscene in ffvii suggests that humanity most likely died off, restoring the world back to it's natural state.

And no Cloud didn't kill Aerith, Sephiroth did, You'll have to played the game Final Fantasy VII and it will be all clear. And no there wasn't any other movies like that where cloud kill aerith, but there was a 2 episode anime movies/short episode of this its called Final Fantasy VII: New Order I think I kinda forgot :)

This movie was a complete waste, at the end of FF7 Sephiroth is dead. At the end of AC, sephiroth is dead again! what was accomplished? NOTHING! Cloud and Tifa still live like rommates instead of lovers (why is square so against having any payoff to these romantic subplots?), Aeris is still dead, yuffie is still annoying, vincent is still useless and barrett is still Mr. T. The fight scenes were ludicrously dragonball Z esque and overblown... why couldn't we just have a second FFVII game?

This movie is a not bad, but not great movie if you are 1. watching with english subtitles and 2. played the game or 3. boughted it on bluray. If you have not played FInal Fantasy VII, you will have a hard time getting to know the characters and their relationships with one another. I recomend playing the great game, Final Fantasy VII before you see the movie.
