I Noticed you mentioned that you worked for Kawasaki in the 80's. You must obviously remember the Suzuki Full floater and of course the Kawasaki Uni Track suspension. I'm sure your idea came from your experience back in the day. Why don't you use it the same way as they did just a little more legal. The idea came a great progression for bottoming and let you keep you small bump advantage also. Rotech used it on there RL9 down hill bikes. The one you have now is going to be a falling rate type
Dear Trek. I think you're getting it down, and faster than the other guys, too. If you could only work on a Fuel EX 29er! I'de buy it! Cheers, keep it up!
does anybody knows what this is about ??? its about the shock rate not the wheel path and btw DW-link, and Spesh's FSR (i have a specialized so i am not bashing them) are diff systems compatred to that. they are true four bar sytems while this is a single pivot, so stop saying the sl is the same system or that this is a DW link rip off. you guys dont know what ur talking about...

I've seen this suspension technology from some the Specialized bicycles...most specifically their Enduro SL. Really great bike. Planning on buying one myself.
Why don't you check out the website to see for yourself...they sure have various kinds of bikes.
No suspension works as well as Specialized's FSR, due to patenting it is the only uspension system that allows the wheel to travel to move through a completely straight line, when the suspension arcs the chain slackens or tightens so therefore pedaling is pulling the wheel closer to the bike and compresing the suspension, Pedal Bob, watch the vid and watch how the suspension moves toward the bike!
I could be mistaken, but this suspension looks earily similar to a Suzuki design introduced way back in 1981...also called Full Floater, strangely enough...hmmmmmm
its only similar in name to the suzuki "Full Floater" rear suspension system, suzuki;s system compressed the shock from both ends, this system cormpresses it from the top and moves the shock down slightly at the bottom. it's actually more similar to yamaha's mono-cross link system debuted in 1982. suzuki's system debuted in 1980 on thier works bikes, so the patents would have expired by now. All singleshock bikes now use variants of honda's prolink system, which is most compact and adjustable
I'm sorry Jose, this is just marketing nonsense. While the floating bottom mount could minutely flatten the rising rate curve, you know you could have achieved the same thing with any number of insignificant changes to the rocker geometry. When you guys treat us like fools, we have to wonder what other things you're trying to pull over on us.
it helps get more travel with short shox, but what about the others, pedaling, liner, energy loose?...that was a horrible design for mountain bike suspension system man!!!
Great info

I agree...Suzuki has been using this system for decades now. I believe they have all rights reserved for this invention?

I've been driving with this system on my Suzuki motorcycles for a couple of decades now, and actually it's superior to conventional systems.
brufnus 3 years ago
Uh huh. You've been 'driving' your Suzuki motorcycle for decades. Clearly an enthusiast with a masters grasp of all things technical.

Yes, I've had a Suzuki with Full Floater for 2 decades now. No need to be sarcastic about that statement, though...?
