I'm 11. I've been verbally abused and bullied. I'm always screamed at by my parents. I've tried hanging myself once, I've tried drowning myself several times, and I have considered overdose many, many times. I just don't know what to do anymore, I say I'm gonna suicide then I chicken out.
@BeMiiDuckkyPie It's great that you are reaching out and talking about your feelings and we would like to help! Please take the first step in getting help by calling 1-800-273-8255.
im 10 andddd i tryed drowning 2 times and i keep whriteing about death and i just really wanna die because of bullies and people being mean and i have to act like im happy
It's great that you are trying to put some positive actions in the world by trying to prevent this. There are no answers in this world. There is a loneliness in the world that is greater than any of us. I would like to believe there is a number to call that could somehow make it better. But life sucks in ways that most people can't even imagine. People who commit suicide are at the end of their rope in this shithole society and rather than beg for someone to "understand their pain" they leave...
@toontown633 you mean everything to your family. i know this because i have tried to kill myself before dont do it you are not alone. i love even though i dont know you you mean the world to your parents. I found this out after i came home one night and was goign to kill myself the next day. i am only fourteen . i got help and amm better. dont ever think that you are alone this world. ever

I was diagnoised with bi polar and when i feel on top of the world this little piece in my mind tells me life isnt worth the shit it puts us through i still think that even now but i dont just go off and kill myself well we'll just have to wait and see in a couple years.
@TheGothicspirit Hi, thank you for sharing. Please call the Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 if you are struggling. Calls are confidential and our workers are available 24/7.
@Arbiter567 The Lifeline is committed to the confidentiality of callers & upholds this at all times. Your name is not associated with the call. The only potential exception is during any circumstance in which an individual provides consent to share information relevant to their health/safety, is unable to provide consent or is perceived to be at imminent risk of injury/death. Then, the center staff will make every effort to collaborate with callers to send assistance as appropriate.
I can't call. I don't have a phone. I'm Bipolar though....I can't make up my mind! One moment I dont care. Next thing I know I'm about to take a bunch of pills....help?
@sasuke1on1 You can reach us via email on our website under contact. Please note though that it can take up to 24 hours for a counselor to reach you via email. Please do reach out if you need help. You are not alone.
What are my other choices? Therapy? All they will do is shove meds down my throat that the FDA is trying to promote. Psychiatrists don't care. They just watch the clock, waiting for the hour to end.
@OncologistBound Hi, you can call the Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255. Our counselors are available 24/7 and can help connect you to local resources. You are not alone.
i lost my dad, my best friend on march 15 2010... i never saw it coming, my heart is so broken, i still deal with post traumatic stress due to me finding him.. i miss him so much
@em1ly420 My sister took her own life on June 2, 2010. I didn't find her but was in the next room when she was found. My mum screamed for literally about 5 minutes straight until my step dad came in to see why she was screaming. Because i ran. I didn't see anything, but i knew she had done something. It was the worst night of my life. Nothing will ever top that. I can't believe it's almost been a year already. I can't imagine living my life without her. I just keep waiting for her to come home.
im so sorry to hear about your sister, I know how it feels, it really hurts it never goes away your whole world changes.................................FOREVER.
I LOST MY MOTHER 5 YEARS AGO ON FEBRUARY 11TH2006 I MISS HER EVERYDAY. IT HURTS. MY WHOLE FAMILY HAS CHANGED, IT HAS CHANGED ME......FOREVER.
As an answerer of one of those hotlines, I am sorry that you had a bad experience with a hotline. However, I would let you know that some hotlines have less quality than others. Also understand that if you are in a situation where you are in the act of suicide, we are legally obligated to send 911-emergency help. We cannot legally let that happen. If you are just high-risk, they should have not done that, but are legally obligated to offer to do that and encourage you to seek medical help.
My problem with these hotlines is that..I tried calling one once, and they sent the police. All I wanted was to talk to someone, not end up in a psych ward. These hotlines are BS, to me at least....I've had recurring thoughts lately, but can never talk to anyone about it, even anonymous people on the other end of the phone. They make it impossible, and ever since that one time, I don't trust those hotlines one bit.
"My problem with these hotlines is that..I tried calling one once, and they sent the police."
This is true. If you say you're thinking of killing yourself then they're legally required to call the police/ambulance (at least that's the case where I live).
It's the same with psychiatrists/psychologist, if you tell them you want to kill yourself they legally have to take action.
My opinion is that if someone wants to take their life then they should be able to.
@SuperAntiZionist We actually work very hard with callers to maintain the confidentiality of the calls and to ensure the safety of the callers. Our centers only request additional assistance if the caller is unable to assist him or herself. Suicide impacts the entire community and many who have attempted report later that they are glad they survived. You can see our suicide attempt survivor videos on our channel.
I lost my triplet brother to suicide when we were 17. I'm now 32, and my sister and I still deal with this loss. The pain of depression blinds suffers from seeing hope. More informaton has to be made public like this video to combat this disease. I love you Mark. Miss you every day....
I will never attempt this again an warn others not to do. My lesson from what I did is, that with suicide you not only kill yourself, but also the people who love you. Suicide is therefore double murder.
I am now in my bed recovering. I wanted to ti tell you this and what I learned from it.
My doctor had received my message and phoned my on my mobile early in the morning. She had phoned other health specialists. The supervisor at my work phoned me, police was alerted and came to my flat.
I felt so guilty afterward and understood that there are so many people who care about you.
I lost my favorite aunt to suicide at the age of 9. I'll never be the same, but hopefully those of us who have gone through it could change the bad into something good that will prevent this from happening to anymore families...RIP Aunt Shirley Sept 28, 1990
I lost me girlfriend, best friend, lover, partner December 13, 2009. Cry everyday. We are not alone. Though we feel alone. God bless everyone. Know there are others overwhelmed too. My heart goes out to those like us.
Our Lifeline counselors are available for survivors too. Please call the Lifeline at 800-273-TALK if you are ever feeling overwhelmed or are in emotional distress. Thank you for sharing your story.
Bless you Lidia, for the fine work you do. The world NEEDS more people to JUST LISTEN. You are SO correct when you say that most suicide victims didn't really want to die, they just wanted the pain to stop. It is so maddening to hear others say "I don't know why he or she killed themself." If people would only PAY ATTENTION, all the signs are usually evident, but our society is so damn self-absorbed that they just rationalize and hide behind a facade of suprised ignorance.
How do I flag a personal comment made to me by a young woman who is suicidal? I barely" know" her-she is 16 and lives in Sweden. I called the hot line number but because she is in another country there is little they can do. I am very concerned.
This was like watching MY story, 36 years ago. When I was 22 and my brother was 30, he took his life. I remember hearing someone in a support group I was in 3 months later say that it had been 3 years since her sister committed suicide and I couldn't conceive of how I could still hurt in three years. Now it's been 36 years, and I still hurt, differently maybe, but the empty space that was Dave is still there in me. Thank you, Lidia, for helping others avoid our experiences.
