  • What a beautiful moment and memory! This is what life is about!

  • Once I was in Munich visiting the The Royal Palace and in the inmense garden area I saw a Swan gliding along a channel in the woods, the very first thing that came to my mind, was this music. The bird was so graceful and elegant and the contrast of the whiteness of the feathers were resplandecent against the darkness of the woods. And with music in my mind, It was a moment almost magical. I will never forget!

  • 1:30 is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard.

  • Really so well played, expresses the beauty, elegance and gentleness of "The Swan" and creates a beautiful musical landscape and the pianist is also in harmony with this sentiment.

  • @aeolianartists It's true, like I said in my commet, it's magical!

  • freak

  • in my sister's highschool orchestra last year, some really good cello-ist played this too. he was just as good. :) this song is even prettier live!!!

  • @TinkaGirl I hope so. That's Roger Moore - Also known as James Bond.

  • @TinkaGirl I hope so. That's Roger Moore - Also known as James Bond. :)

  • my favourite interpretation

  • 51 people hate classical music now

  • @matrixmatt23 Because they live in violence, they listen violent music like Rap and other degrading music.

  • 50 people hate classical music! >:(

  • Bravo! Thanks for posting this vid.

  • who is the pianist ?

    thanx

  • @lola020202 Hyung-ki Joo from "Igudesman & Joo". Great pianist and comedian!

  • mmmmm mischa maisky is my favorite.

  • Hey... Where'd the UBER LOVE button go? Damn YouTube...Taking all the good stuff out...

  • i wish i had his hair.

  • now here is a real performance... no pretensions... just beauty... heartfelt and real... not an acted drama of fake emotions

  • larpurnu ---My god, balm for the ears. Thank you kisses from Brasil

  • This... this is why I want to play the cello.

Camille Saint-Saens... thank you for living.

  • i see the james bond but i am worried bout einstien being there

  • I named my young son Swan, My daughter also has Swan as her middle name.

This music is truly wonderful, not to mention Sir Roger Moore with his exciting correctly spoken words...

I am an ex big issue seller, I am married to a lazy religious christadelphian women, but i have 4 brilliant children for whom I have taught to respect all walks of life and it's workings. I work, come home, cherish my children until they got to bed, then I listen to such wonders on youtube

  • @fishywonka your son must be pissed off that his name is swan

  • @adamjenson4500

just as pissed off if his name was Adam no doubt? But Adam is just a name, a number to identify you zzzz

Unlike you, we don't follow sheep, we live amongst others regardless of how they look and what they are named....Swan i find is truly stunning, you can only adjust to it if you are adjustable in life...

Your probably the type of person who would try to bully him simply because you don't like the name?

How sad, but god bless you anyway adam x thanks for giving your views

  • @fishywonka no... i'm implying that he is likely to get bullied because he has a stupid name. also why are you writing information about your life on youtube as if anyone would be interested when in fact no one is?

  • @adamjenson4500

Your interested enough to comment, I guess that will do for me lol

  • @fishywonka well it shouldn't, you should know you are one of these sad losers who thinks people care about their lives.

  • @fishywonka Wow, thanks for sharing that awkward information.

I felt uncomfortable jut reading it.

I can't imagine what life must be like for your boy "Swan".

  • @XenophobicPiglet

Life is great for my boy "Swan" but I don't get why you felt uncomfortable about my post?

Maybe it's after so many family members taking the gender issue and thinking closed minded about a word?

I am not even religious, but I follow the rules. I don't hurt, steal, cheat, cuss, murder, lie and so on to anybody, probably more of a decent human being than the religious folks lol

  • @fishywonka

    Uh... Ok...

You seem to be in the habit of telling people way more than they wanted to know. Even if it has nothing to do with anything that was said.

Again, it's makes things very awkward and uncomfortable. I can't imagine what it would be like meeting you in real life...

  • @fishywonka rules were made to be broken. if spies didnt steal, cheat and lie, they'd be outta job. LOL. i dun really for religion either. XD

  • Se oli tonnin seteli.

  • Very nice. Thank you.

  • ROGER MOORE????? :O ;) :L x

  • Just love the way he plays this! this is my favorite version! keeps the tense great!

  • i am playing this extreamly easly actully

  • For me I prefer Yo-Yo Ma's version better, it's more elegant to be precise. Mischa exagerated the notes a bit too much, too sharp but not saying his interpritation isn't good, just that I like Ma's better. They are both great cellist.

  • @PeariezVespa you shouldn't comment on things you can't spell. (interpretation)

  • @ishyboy1993 I'm sorry what exactly is your problem? It's just a very small mistake.

  • I love his playing. Thumbs up if he's one of your favorites!

  • BRAVO!

  • The cellist is Billy Connolly. Fact

  • @spazabarri mischa maisky dumb arse!

  • @mornienduris

    Cool story, bro.

  • Beautiful as the swan...

  • he accents too much, and what's up with that hair?

  • @YCAT7 it's his character...

  • i wanna marry hearing this piece

  • I prefer Julian Lloyd Webber's version to this one, but still a beautiful interpretation

  • I found this song when they used it to show an interception that Jake Delhomme threw, as usual, while he played for the Carolina Panthers. It showed Muhsin Muhammaed doing the exact same ballet-esque moves with a Dallas Cowboys player. Epic.

  • I just discovered the Carnival of the Animals 2 years ago when I looked up the song from Benjamin Buttons. All Saint-Saens music is excellent!! Nothing compares

  • Comment removed

  • Amazing!

  • I love the music. I love Roger Moore's reading of the poetry, but does anyone know who wrote this marvelous poetry????? It's not Ogden Nash, that's for certain.

  • Finally find this music!!

When I was a baby, the swan always makes me peace! and so does now.. i love it so much!

I can't find this cello player on itunes, can anyone give me a suggest? "Which artist plays the BEST The Swan on iTunes?"

  • What fun to see Richard Joo playing it straight!

  • Aaaarghh!! I love this. My iPod lost count of how many times I've replayed it <3 This version is slower than the one I have, though.

  • Is that mickey mouse . ?

  • A guy (at the highschool concert), the cello teacher (apparently sometimes he stops by to hang out with the cellos), played this at the concert. :O you should of seen everyone's face!!! :D especially the cello section(on stage at the moment), were just like, :O

  • isn't the pianist that guy from igudesman & joo?

  • @firebird1924 yes

  • Yo Yo Ma > Mischa Maisky

  • @xbasket12x Mischa Maisky > Yo Yo Ma

  • i played this for my wife at our wedding..

  • @technerdarturo awsome!

  • @technerdarturo awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

  • @technerdarturo didya fuck er

  • Love, love, love this song! This is the most beautiful I've ever heard it played. Such emotion. It brings tears to my eyes. Beautiful.

  • Our orchestra is inserting Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer in the middle of Carnival of the Animals for laughs

  • I've had no doubt its Roger Moore, apparently he used to babysit my uncle many many years ago.

  • Was this a concert at St Martins just off Trafalgar Square?

  • absolutely amazing! we did the ballet and everytime i hear this I have tear i my eye!

  • beautiful

  • Beautiful

  • Lord this is beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing this. It is my favorite classical song. Reminds me of me in a way. The world racing by. Me just floating along in a sensitive way. Slow and, well, I wish I had more patience. This is so romantic too. I wish I could find someone who could bring this much emotion out of me : } This cellist Mischa Maisky is AWESOME. Wow. I wonder what this was produced for??? What a combination. It looks like it was for a CD recording. Yep Roger Moore! Wow!

  • Roger Moore you fools! 007

  • Can't hold back my tear......

  • Someone's name should be changed to asshole...

  • i nearly melted away......i used to play the cello and i forgot how beautiful it sounds. it just takes my breath away and i just become peaceful and my mind clears. VERY beautiful piece. there's no other way to say it, its just....amazing
