I'm playing this solo on my English horn. . . wow, that vibrato is magnificent, but it is very hard on the english horn. XD No one could play it better then he does!
Once I was in Munich visiting the The Royal Palace and in the inmense garden area I saw a Swan gliding along a channel in the woods, the very first thing that came to my mind, was this music. The bird was so graceful and elegant and the contrast of the whiteness of the feathers were resplandecent against the darkness of the woods. And with music in my mind, It was a moment almost magical. I will never forget!
Really so well played, expresses the beauty, elegance and gentleness of "The Swan" and creates a beautiful musical landscape and the pianist is also in harmony with this sentiment.
I named my young son Swan, My daughter also has Swan as her middle name.
This music is truly wonderful, not to mention Sir Roger Moore with his exciting correctly spoken words...
I am an ex big issue seller, I am married to a lazy religious christadelphian women, but i have 4 brilliant children for whom I have taught to respect all walks of life and it's workings. I work, come home, cherish my children until they got to bed, then I listen to such wonders on youtube
just as pissed off if his name was Adam no doubt? But Adam is just a name, a number to identify you zzzz
Unlike you, we don't follow sheep, we live amongst others regardless of how they look and what they are named....Swan i find is truly stunning, you can only adjust to it if you are adjustable in life...
Your probably the type of person who would try to bully him simply because you don't like the name?
How sad, but god bless you anyway adam x thanks for giving your views
@fishywonka no... i'm implying that he is likely to get bullied because he has a stupid name. also why are you writing information about your life on youtube as if anyone would be interested when in fact no one is?
Life is great for my boy "Swan" but I don't get why you felt uncomfortable about my post?
Maybe it's after so many family members taking the gender issue and thinking closed minded about a word?
I am not even religious, but I follow the rules. I don't hurt, steal, cheat, cuss, murder, lie and so on to anybody, probably more of a decent human being than the religious folks lol
For me I prefer Yo-Yo Ma's version better, it's more elegant to be precise. Mischa exagerated the notes a bit too much, too sharp but not saying his interpritation isn't good, just that I like Ma's better. They are both great cellist.
I found this song when they used it to show an interception that Jake Delhomme threw, as usual, while he played for the Carolina Panthers. It showed Muhsin Muhammaed doing the exact same ballet-esque moves with a Dallas Cowboys player. Epic.
I just discovered the Carnival of the Animals 2 years ago when I looked up the song from Benjamin Buttons. All Saint-Saens music is excellent!! Nothing compares
I love the music. I love Roger Moore's reading of the poetry, but does anyone know who wrote this marvelous poetry????? It's not Ogden Nash, that's for certain.
A guy (at the highschool concert), the cello teacher (apparently sometimes he stops by to hang out with the cellos), played this at the concert. :O you should of seen everyone's face!!! :D especially the cello section(on stage at the moment), were just like, :O
Lord this is beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing this. It is my favorite classical song. Reminds me of me in a way. The world racing by. Me just floating along in a sensitive way. Slow and, well, I wish I had more patience. This is so romantic too. I wish I could find someone who could bring this much emotion out of me : } This cellist Mischa Maisky is AWESOME. Wow. I wonder what this was produced for??? What a combination. It looks like it was for a CD recording. Yep Roger Moore! Wow!
