I used Steinberg Wavelab to loop the opening bars of the solo section of Zomby Woof from one of the YCDTOSA albums - if you'd like a copy, send me your email address in a private message to my Youtube account and I'll email it back to you.
ALSO, think you may be able to post a lesson on how to play the repeated riffs in this song? I just can't seem to get them right no matter how many times I go back to it!
you should shave your beard like zappas, you would be intense. honestly you've inspired me to start playing more of zappas stuff, your tone is amazing.
Thanks very much. The guitar is a Fender Strat Plus De Luxe and came with the following pickups as standard - red Fender-Lace sensor in the bridge position, a silver Fender-Lace sensor in the middle and a blue Fender-Lace sensor in the neck.
Fuckign awesome solo. Check my politically active music. I miss Frank. He could say and express this all more fluently: "Bilderberg Man" from my profile.
I made it myself by taking the version of Zomby Woof from (I think) YCDTOSA Vol. 1 and looping the opening empty bars of the guitar solo section in Steinberg Wavelab.
As usual Kevin you're such a blast to listen to. I think this is a great video because it shows more of what I think your style is instead of a strict Zappa copy. Great job my friend!
this fella can whip it good....under the right stars this guy could take everybody on a long ride...I would love to hear you do some other Zappa solos as well as your own stuff
Thanks. I've got a red Lace Sensor in the rear position, a silver one in the middle and a blue one at the neck - the guitar came that way as standard when I bought it back in 1991.
OMG! Kev! That was almost awreety awrighty down right NASTY - still a very clean bluesy sound going on - the last 45 seconds reminded me of Frank's impro on the title track from 'Them or Us' - and to think you used to be such a nice boy! Nice to see you just slightly turbo charged here - waiting for full throttle to commence...!
Awesome playing, very much in Zappa's style. I'd love to hear the two of you jam out.

I feel rude to ask, but could you send me in the right direction to get the backing track you're using for this?
Thanks, and keep up the great work!

They're not actually pickup covers as such - the pickups are Fender-Lace sensors, so they don't have any pole pieces.
