  • Awesome playing, very much in Zappa's style. I'd love to hear the two of you jam out.

  • @lnventlve

Thanks very much. As for me and FZ jamming out, I wouldn't have minded hearing that myself...

  • Outstanding!

  • liked this too. you're pretty versatile.

  • awesome playing, love the false harmonics, check out my zappa apostrophe era inspired track done on logic. Cheers.

  • @maxvitali1

Thanks. Devil Monkey Shoes is absolutely outstanding.

  • I love this....I really do...Its got so much attitude and musicality.Is that going through a G2?

  • @gagsmedia

    Thanks...it's going through a G2.1u.

  • very very nice guitar playng

  • Very nice!

  • Screw the 'eyebrows'...

You gave it all its body hair!

    Love it!

  • @IncaRoads1808

Thanks very much indeed - Zomby Woof is one of my all time favourite Zappa tracks.

  • stunning!

  • I really like your playing on this man. Great idea of yours to loop a few bars to solo over. Inspiring! Thanks again.

  • @lefthandpath314

Thanks very much...and thanks for subscribing, too.

  • great stuff yeah - technologically inspiring loop wise no .

  • Great work! Tough track to do.

  • where did you get the guitar free track?

  • @sweetchildonline

I used Steinberg Wavelab to loop the opening bars of the solo section of Zomby Woof from one of the YCDTOSA albums - if you'd like a copy, send me your email address in a private message to my Youtube account and I'll email it back to you.

  • @Kev3542 great idea i'll send it to you now

  • sick!!!

  • Hey man, you Zappa stuff is really intense!

    Definitely some great playing!

I feel rude to ask, but could you send me in the right direction to get the backing track you're using for this?

Thanks, and keep up the great work!

  • ALSO, think you may be able to post a lesson on how to play the repeated riffs in this song? I just can't seem to get them right no matter how many times I go back to it!

  • @laquil1

Thanks for taking an interest...if you give me a timing on the video, I'll see what I can do.

  • Shit man. Well done! That harmonic stuff is fantastic. It makes me want a whammy bar, but I have a Les Paul!

  • you should shave your beard like zappas, you would be intense. honestly you've inspired me to start playing more of zappas stuff, your tone is amazing.

  • @DDowza

Thanks very much. You can't beat a bit of Zappa.

  • @kev3542 cheers mate :D

  • hey man, geat vid and u sound awesome, just wonderin which pickups ur usin in that strat? :)

  • @leemansnake

Thanks very much. The guitar is a Fender Strat Plus De Luxe and came with the following pickups as standard - red Fender-Lace sensor in the bridge position, a silver Fender-Lace sensor in the middle and a blue Fender-Lace sensor in the neck.

  • Fuckign awesome solo. Check my politically active music. I miss Frank. He could say and express this all more fluently: "Bilderberg Man" from my profile.

  • @ZZombyWooff

Thanks. Your "Bilderberg Man" video is excellent - and some great guitar playing on there, too.

  • where did you get the backing track?

  • @PGROSYE02

I made it myself by taking the version of Zomby Woof from (I think) YCDTOSA Vol. 1 and looping the opening empty bars of the guitar solo section in Steinberg Wavelab.

  • you start FZ but you continue like stive vai

  • i wish i could make a strat sound like that.

  • Thanks very much, Fistacorpse (Fistacorpse? WTF??)

  • thats amazing ......

  • What? No cigarette in the headstock?

  • As usual Kevin you're such a blast to listen to. I think this is a great video because it shows more of what I think your style is instead of a strict Zappa copy. Great job my friend!

  • @KeeleyElectronics

Thanks, Robert - it's very kind of you to say so.

  • this fella can whip it good....under the right stars this guy could take everybody on a long ride...I would love to hear you do some other Zappa solos as well as your own stuff

  • Go on son!

  • wow!!! rippin!!!

  • Very good...

  • Great Tone X)

    amazing !!!

  • Terribly great! :-o

  • very nice

  • I really like this but the over-usage of tremolo, legato, and pinch harmonics take way from it.

  • That was just down right amazing

  • Thanks very much...and thanks for subscribing, too.

  • from a fellow zappa influenced guitarist - AWESOME

  • Thanks very much. I checked out your videos too and I'm very impressed. Your tone and playing are both outstanding.

  • Thank You!!

  • Nice!

  • Damn!!! That's some S#*t Hot playin' son;ya sound like a cross between FZ,Vai,& Steve Luke!

  • Great! Very good playing. Lace Sensors are really good single-coil pickups. Just out of curiosity what models do you use?

  • Thanks. I've got a red Lace Sensor in the rear position, a silver one in the middle and a blue one at the neck - the guitar came that way as standard when I bought it back in 1991.

  • OMG! Kev! That was almost awreety awrighty down right NASTY - still a very clean bluesy sound going on - the last 45 seconds reminded me of Frank's impro on the title track from 'Them or Us' - and to think you used to be such a nice boy! Nice to see you just slightly turbo charged here - waiting for full throttle to commence...!

  • Nice Wild Sound!! I like it!!

  • Very, but very good! Bravo!

  • the pup covers do any good?

  • They're not actually pickup covers as such - the pickups are Fender-Lace sensors, so they don't have any pole pieces.

  • haa swweett
