Nice that they're noticing pork now that they're the underdog party, in a convenient position to criticize without substantial repercussion. Even though this only amounts to a tiny fraction of the overall budget, it's nice that someone is thinking about these little margins. Tom Price is not a senator, he is a Representative.

Obama said that he would reform the earmark process. He also said that some earmarks are good.

The entire issue of earmarks is a red herring. Earmarks constitute less than 2% of the budget. His outrage seems misguided.

Price's close associate Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-GA) received more earmark money ($36 million) this year than any other Georgia politician. But Price has not criticism for his buddy.

Price is a fraud.

Privatization had nothing to do with Fannie and Freddie collapsing. There's a YouTube video of President Bush warning - at least a couple of times, I believe, that this might happen because Fannie and Freddie were getting too big. But Barney Frank and cohorts blocked any type of regulation. Government regulation is no cure-all - for sure - but in this case it certainly would have helped bring everything out into the light.
