i had one of those things, dont know where my dad got it, but i think renewing a magazine or automobile club (CAA) either one usally gives crappy gifts for renewing
That "radio" rather looks like a modern desktop telephone (I'm just missing the receiver...;-)). Who the hell has dared to design a radio like this? It's really incredible... I surely wouldn't have bought that product.
I have the clock part of this unit somewhere. It's not exactly the same as yours but same styling. I hate that horrible out of phase fake stereo. I have a wind up am fm WB radio and when you plug in headphones it sounds like this. Any way to bypass that and get standard mono audio other than tapping off the speaker wires?
The out of phase audio when you demonstrate the headphone output makes a really weird effect with the speakers I'm using right now. If I have my head in just the right position, it's as if the sound is coming from beside me although the speakers are in front of me!
Yeah I have surround and all of a sudden when he plugged in the headphone my back speakers started popping out audio it scared the crap out of me haha.
What a piece of junk. You must have not paid a lot of money for that.
I stay far away from dealerships that have yelling ads. Do a search of Bill Heard Enterprises of Georgia and you'll know what I mean. Bill Heard was probably the dirtiest of all dealerships in modern times.
@CenTexVideo That can't be any worse than Brad Benson, the ex-NY Giants football player who now runs a Hyundai dealer in NJ. His favorite trick is to charge $4000 for pinstripes and door edge moldings, and then claim to offer "25 percent off the sticker price on every new car" -- sure, off of his ridiculously inflated mark-up, not off of the factory list price!
@vwestlife haha! also SANSONE'S rt1AUTOMALL does the same thing ,just refuse it ,its illegal to install add ons until the customer agrees ,its against automakers own rules sansone charges $395.00 for nitrogen filled tires ,GM charges $39.00 ,costco charges $7.00 ea ! sansone charges over $400.00 for door edge moldings and over $500.00 for pinstrips that i can get for $10.00,they charge $400.00 for a few years of painless dent removal ironically some of these items void the warranty on the paint
@daewooparts they also screw you with the financing too ,instead of "factory financing" @ lower apr ,they steer you to dealer or bank financing at a much higher rate and the salesman gets points"cut" of it ,more then car commision from selling the car
@vwestlife $4k for pinstripes! It's a wonder the dealership stays in business with such inflated prices. I guess people aren't doing their homework before buying a car. The people need to pay over-inflated prices so Benson can give cars away to pastors wanting to burn religious books.
I like the way it looks, too bad about the rest. They should have put a phone in while they were at it. ;-) I have a clock-calendar thing that uses the same keypad, without the radio. It does have a "melody alarm".
There's a car dealer around here who seems to think that using severely lossy compression and cutting all but the midrange out is a good way to do things. Seems a lot of the people who respond to those ads don't understand "negative equity applied to new loan balance".
The clock radio is cheap, but it does look somewhat interesting. I first thought the calendar was a built-in TV.
All these aggressive credit advertisements are very annoying. In Germany they are rather uncommon, but they are getting more and more.
My bank likes to send me credit application forms all the time. I just have to fill in the amount of money I want and sign it - even the envelope for sending it all back is included. I feel offended by those things.
I've had units like that before, I had a touchscreen one that had an FM Auto scan radio, I think they're interesting because the ones I've had have melody alarms, I think they're funny. When you say this doesn't have an alarm, do you mean the alarm doesn't activate the radio, or do you mean it has no alarm full stop? Yeah these are pretty cheap and not very well designed, but you get what you pay for.
@Lachlant1984 The clock/calculator part runs off its own coin cell battery, which was dead. I don't think it has any alarm, but if it does, it would just be a little beeper, because it's not connected with the radio at all.
Man... those car commercials should be illegal.

sounds like they fucked the polarity up when soldering the headphone jack in (or routing the wires/traces to it) lol

lol no alarm - i guess they thought this would be a piece that set on gordon geckos desk rather than by a bed

A couple of dealerships here in New Orleans must use the same service for their ads - the format and voice is identical.

They once even called me to ask if all those letters would reach me. I told them to stop sending them, but they obviously ignored that...
