Love your plans, but I really couldn't hear a single word when your sound went down, and that was after I turned all the volume at my end right up. I hope that you're going to insulate the building to more than the depth shown. With such thin inner walls sound will also be a problem with guests. I know, because my walls are just like yours. Your plan to use solar power and a wind turbine are about the best thing you could do, especially with energy prices spiralling as they do. GL :D
@fluoridekid Sorry about the sound. Here is what I said: I plan to put batton strips over the seams in the boards. Inside the siding, I plan to put 1 inches of styrofoam and seal around it with Great Stuff expanding foam. Inside the styrofoam, I will be putting 6 inches of fiberglass insulation. Over the fiberglass, I will put visqueen plastic as a moisture burrier. Then 3/4 V groove Tand G siding in the inside. The interior walls will have fiberglass sound burrier in the walls.
@deepbeeps Thank you very much for letting me know what it is you said you are doing. Those ideas should make your home as snug as any good home should be. I do hope that you're going to allow us to see the finished project. It's all very exciting, I'd love to do something like this for myself :D
Sorry....I got an offer for it I couldn't refuse. The new owner ownes a marina on the Portage Lakes in Ohio. Kiefer's Marina. He is going to paint it with graphics, advertising his marina.
Very cool cabin, looks like it's going to be very cozy. BTW, hows the tug boat coming, you had me hooked with the progress video's on that and was wondering how the fiberglassing is going.
Love this! I'm looking at building a very small house and appreciate the inspiration. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product!

Great project. Will you be using solar and/or wind power?

@dapappacn We won't be totally "off grid", but after we get moved in, I plan to supplement our power with both wind and solar.
