@igorxa Apple and orange. When I can buy the Red Scarlet at the price of a 7D I'll make the comparison myself.
Besides, I don't see what the big deal is. With the 7D samples, either the interior or the exterior is perfectly exposed while with the supposedly extended dynamic range of the "HDRX" mode, the interior is barely visible while the exterior is washed out. Looks more like in camera processing where it tweaks the image histogram. In other word, a gimmick.
@meeksdigital I still don't understand why people need to put others down in their reply because I bet you won't do that to a stranger in real life. I also don't know what I said that solicit such reply from you. Did I somehow offend you personally?
I saw the HDRX sample in your channel and it looks good. My guess is that the dynamic range in this video is still too high for even RED SCARLET. I stand by my comment regarding how washed out the exterior is. Have a nice day.
You should probably do a little research before you comment. The Mysterium-X sensor in the Scarlet is the same size as the APS-H sensors in the Canon 1D mk4. When in 4k mode, the sensor is cropped to the equivalent size of the sensor in the 7D, or APS-C. Comparing dynamic range to the 7D is about as straightforward as you can get. Besides, even if the 5D has slightly better dynamic range than the 7D, the Scarlet blows them both out of the water, and that was the point of the comparison.
Sorry but how can you compare the dynamic range of that SCARLET with the 7D? The 7D is just a prosumer camera with a small APS-C sensor. Shouldn't you compare it to a camera with full frame 35mm sensor or even a Medium Format?
I hear the fan on the background do you have solution for that problem?????
I read some bad comments connected to this problem..
I think the fan start up to blow about 25 min operating the scarlet
