Tribute songs so often fall into the maudlin and morbid category, but the sincere emotion and genuine love manifest in this ditty...well, I was profoundly touched....Never a fan of Andy, but a huge Bee Gee enthusiast...especially their early stuff!!! Andy died of pericarditis , an inflamation of the outer lining of the heart caused by bacteria . The aggressive antibiotic treatment he was given at the time of his death did not help him , as it does not in rare cases but the doctors were not aggressive enough . They should have performed emergency surgery to remove his pericardial sac .

No overdose..He died March 10th 1988 5 days after his 30th birthday from "mycocarditis"inflammation of the heart muscle in a New England hospital due to a virus.He was staying at his brother Robin's Castle writing music for his next LP.

Family did comment in VH1 Special and on sites I've read his heart was probaly most definately weakened from cocaine. I myself and many people believe Andy died from a broken heart,very sad.He's an angel singing above us now.R.I.P. Andy
