  • how any human can express any kind of hate toward Carlie Pride seems imposible to me. but then again, i realize, history is ugly and often wrong. I, myself, find it imposible to have anything but love for the man. Forced to think on things I dont want to think on, I realize the man had haters , and lots of them. I accept that evil, and yet he be beautiful! I wish this thing were not Charlie Pride, but it is...I just enjoy the music, peace loving, friendly, funny and beautiful inocent music.

  • What a voice!! He truly is an amazing singer, one that doesn't need a studio to sound good. His voice is right on when he sings live, as his recordings.

  • one of the best country singers in the world lov him to bits

  • My fave, fave, fave Charley Pride song!

  • I coached football at Memphis State in the mid '70's & I recruited Charley's son, Kraig. When I went to their home in North Dallas, I could not have been treated nicer. Charley & family were so fine & kind. Charley & I went to see Jesuit (the team Kraig played for) play Houston St. Thomas in 20 degree temp for the Catholic State Championship. Charley had some anti-freeze on him so we stayed reasonably thawed out. It was a great game & I signed Kraig to a full scholarship.

  • dude my dad loves this song!

  • Cool song written by Don Robertson/John Crutchfield/Doris Clement.

  • Thank you,one of my best memories was seeing him him perform in Aberdeen many years ago.

  • Wonderful. I was very impressed to hear he flew all the way to Alberta to refund a Canadian fan her money when she was ripped off by a ticket resaler.

    What a class act!

  • Charley had alot to prove by being a black man in a world of white! I think that he more than succeeded, and he cried when he was inducted into the Hall of Fame!!! Great man!!!

  • Charley Pride is cool, unlike Obama!

  • @flashbell What does Obama have to do with Charley Pride?

  • lol old songs

  • My favourite alltime "Charlie Pride" record. My "Ford Capri" was stolen in 1976. I was more upset that my "Charlie Pride " cassette was still in the player. I got the car back but not the tape. At least the thief had taste.

  • Awesome! One of Charlie's all-time best!

  • My father had all of his albums; he met him when he (Mr. Charley Pride) visited Canada.

He had a HUGE following up here in Canada. Well loved and respected!!

  • I love Charlie Pride. I had all his LP albums.. He is so talented. God gave him a wonderful voice.

I just get so relaxed by the sound of his voice.. Memories of special times.

  • I couldn't agree with you more. I don't listen to the "new country sound". I stick to the country legends of yesterday. pinkfloyd59 "an oldie, oldie country lover till I die" (-:)(-:)

  • Another classic by a great legend!

  • MY DAD LOVE THIS SONG RIP

  • mine too.

  • Great description, so true...and I'm not really a big country fan, however these ARE what country songs are suppose to be...

  • I couldn't agree with the description more.

    seriously.

Most of yall just don't understand.

I was raised on this music, and to see nobody EVER play it on the radio is sp unfortunate.

  • I played the crap out of this song when I was a DJ on KROF AM 960, Lafayette, LA.

  • haha. good.

  • Great song indeed...this is what i call music

  • cool

  • Did Tammy Wynette do a cover of this one? I think I've heard her sing it.

  • timeless, why don't they make songs like this anymore.

  • he sings some good country music man

  • my parents used to play this when i was young, nice song, its timeless and still relevant

  • If anyone had the balls to do something like this in 2008, they'd be more popular than Abba was in the 70's.

Being incredibly gifted, and a genius at the same time, is one hell of a combination.
