This case works, no question about it. I had a custom one-of-a-kind resonator crushed by Delta upon refusal to let me board with it. I bought the CLam in response and have flown many times since on various airlines. They'd be hard pressed to to significant damage and the Jumbo leaves some room for pedals (boxed), as well. It's a great product and i don't endorse anything with this kind of enthusiasm. I'm just another travelling, working musician.
your correct these cases are made of corrugated plastic. Its a proven material that has stood the test of time. All the US Postal trucks and airlines use this material for the cartons that carry the mail. Because it is almost unbreakable.
While I'm sure it's a product whose time has come, I'm curious as to why the outside bears a slightly more than passing resemblence to corrugated plastic, especially in the area where it was hit with a claw.
Sure we can we have made cases for all kinds of equipment, like photo graphic equipment, tripods, Stand Up Basse, Audio consels, keyboards, even double keyboards.
In 8 years we have never heard of a guitar being broken using our cases. We have sold over 3000 in 8 years. We have many top bands and Grammy award winning artiest who use our case. Here is a short list of members of bands that use our cases. Buddy Guy, James Taylor, Blue Oyster Cult, The Cars, Kansas, Bob Brozman, The Four Tops, Little Texas Band, The Knack, Susan Vega, Chad and Jeremy, Phil Upchurch, you may not know any of these but they have sold millions of recordings and travel a bunch.
Luggage handlers crawl all over cases while inside and underneath the plane to get the luggage stacked properly. I had a job as a luggage handler right out of high school but I only lasted 3 days because it's brutal work. The hammer test was to show that if a bag is tossed onto our cases and its wheels or corners hit our case your guitar would be protected.
Hyper is exactly what I was when I videoed the demonstration. I had an Email from a customer and said that the cases looked like they would puncture easily if someone thossed other luggage on top of it . So I came up with the idea using a hammer. Believe me I didn't want to purposely destroy something that I built but needed to show this customer that I would give it a test. Yep I got a little excited when I did the demonstration because it did stand up to the abuse.
hitting it with a hammer represents local trauma to the case, but the guitar inside does not move and is not subjected to momentum.
show a test with a guitar inside, and throw it around outside, drop it from the roof and so on, so simulated it falling off the plane load conveyor, or someone dropping it out of the cargo hold onto the ramp.
Phill Upchurch, the Jazz man has recorded on over 200 albums said his $25K Jazz guitar was thrown from a plane in Russia in one of may cases. He said the battry didn't fall out . Here is a link to another story from a guitar maker who's $5000 guitar fell from a plane in one of our cases.
we have had them Online for 8 years now and have never heard of a guitar being damaged in one of our cases, Bands like Blue Oyseter Cult, Buddy Guy, Jame Taylor and dozens more use our cases.
But WILL IT BLEND?

actually, that video response was a lot better. Now that I can see the padding on the inside, I can see how it absorbs that shock too

We are always being challenged to make new cases. We just made a case for 40 inch flat screen TV that will be used at a trade show.
Last week I made one for a Lute player.

can you make a case for my 10 in telescope if i gave you the size?
ween69 2 years ago
We can make a case for you no problem.
We make all types of custom cases.
guitarlesson 2 years ago
What do these cases cost? Do you make cases for electrics like a strat, 335 or Les Paul?
dell4bq 2 years ago
They cost from $200-$267 as shown.
We do alot of custom cases and they can run a bit more.
guitarlesson 2 years ago
In the testimonial section people mentioned it was the best $159 they spent on a case. The price went up over $100 since 2005? I don't get it.
dell4bq 2 years ago
I'd like to see you throw it across the room as part of the demo.

i bet the case would resist many hits,
but what about dropping it on the floor?
fsxmaniac 2 years ago
Take one out to the desert, and drop it from an actual airplane. See if it survives a fall from 35,000 feet!

that is the kind of things i want to see in your promotional video. You should include it. You'll sell more.
A guitar is more likely to be thrown around by ground crew than beat with a hammer, as I'm sure you know.

this should be a video response to the ubg song.
