Dig that crazy tone! So, your pickup is wired directly to the output jack -- did you have to run a seperate wire to the bridge to ground it, or...? Thinking about trying a similar project on my own...
No, the lipstick pickup has three wires--one is a ground wire. I just hooked the hot one to the hot post and the other two to other one and no problem. With a two-wire pickup I'd only use a humbucker because the noise would be bad with a single coil 2-wire deal.
great sound! I was gonna buy that pedal, but the old "rock n roll" thing is way harder to make it sound good than the plain metal distortion. Great job mate.
It's a Bacon n Eggs Distortion box, it says so right on it. Danelectro makes several distortion boxes with varying levels/brands of distortion. They have "Black Coffee" and "Black Licorice" boxes for metal. Thanks for commenting.
What is distortion to him isn't distortion to us. I for one think that you are an amazing musician, and it takes mass quantitites of skill to pull something like that off, and even make it sound good. Most people think Rockabilly died out long ago, but it's musicians like you who keep the tradition alive. I was thinking about posting a video of me playing bass to this but my camera sucks

My guitar has no volume pot. The pickup goes straight to the jack--pure tone.

Your a dick,
1. it looks like he is recording therefore the levels in the booth are irrelvent to the sound in the mix
2. if not, does it honestly look like he is recording the audio with the best sound recorder you can buy.
"true rockabilly" has the worse recording quality due to being in the 50's.

Loved the playing! You have that loose, raw feel that would make Setzer and Perkins proud.
