  • Can you compare engl to mesa mark IV or V?

in europe engl amps are much more cheaper than Mesas....but i didnt have chance to compare

  • im thinking of getting this head... beautiful stuff. do think it sounds right with a distortion pedal or an OD pedal? just want to check...

  • @jamesbonello1 hey James, 2b honest I hvaent messed around with FX pedals on it. Though I do know guys who use a boss GT multi FX unit and seem to be happy with it. Myself, I prefer the amp distortion/overdriven, but hye, what ever you enjoy and get inspired from is the right choice! :-)

  • Great video, thanks for posting this.

  • hello, can you compare it to blackmore/fireball I am going to buy one of theese...

  • @FungusLabel yeah this is bacsically the smaler version of the Richie. that being a 150whead. I havent played with the fireball yet but I hear it has a darker sound apparently.

  • @ytsernity Mhm I see... well I really liky your tone Im going to a music store they have both blackmore and screamer so we will see...

  • @FungusLabel cheers man, well I'm sure you'll enjoy comparing the two but I'm sure you'll fall in love with an ENGL like me! Happy Shredding

  • @ytsernity hehe thanks, well I tested both and liked the screamer a bit more. Blackmore lead 2 sounds like a mix between distortion and clean... it lacks fullness. I tried the Line 6 HD 147 and was pretty cool but there was no life in the sound. Then I tried tourmaster 4100 and kustom double cross... I am happy new user of kustom double cross, it blew me away. Ill post some sound files as soon as I get my camre back. Cheers!!!

  • @ytsernity I The Blackmore head is 100 watts. How do you find the screamer in a band situation, is it loud enough? And is the 412 a stock Marshall? Thanks.

  • Dude you so look like Chris Pontius from Jackass...anyway, nice ENGL, I have the Fireball and love it to death

  • do you have the g system foot switch?

  • nah mate, I have a BOSS fc300 which works quite well :-)

  • Awesome. I think my next amp will be one of these.

  • if i turn my lead presence up to more than 9 o' clock the highs are way too much! but in your 1st video you showed your settings and there the lead presence is on 12 or higher! isn't your sound very sharp?

  • I dont find that it is sharp. This is due to the speaker cab and the guitars i'm using. I have found that with this amp, Guitars with active pickups in them do tend to blow out at the top end and its a very shrill sound but as you can hear from my demmo videos, this is not the case with the music man guitar. The pick up in that is a Dimarzio D-Sonic.

cheers for all the comments everyone :-)

  • What a killer sound!! I want to buy this amp

  • Great tones and playing! The Engl Screamer is an amazing versatile amp!

  • Awesome amp and playing! Would you recommend the Engl Screamer 50 combo amp? Or should I buy the head and a good 4X12 cab?

  • The combo has an externalo speaker jack so if you got strong hands go for the combo (cause its weighty)

  • well I have had great results with the head, but if you are just using it as a studio or prac amp the combo would be a winner!
