Uh.... so, I'm still trying to figure out what the test was... and what the conclusion was... It looked like you were just shooting a gun repeatedly. :/
Does putting the index finger of your off hand on the outside of the trigger guard benefit anything or is it just comfortable for you. I want to try that hold but currently have two broken bones in my hand. Something to look forward to next month.
great video, I totally agree with the heavy bullets. ive shot almost every weight bullet in my SRH. and have found the same thing that the lighter wieght bullets have a very violent recoil like you said and the 300gr and larger bullets are a big push like you said. I broke my nikon 2x scope with 240gr fatties. I attached a video of a review for that revolver. hopefully you wont delete it.
hahahaha, I'm not nerd is that I have a friend who is a gunsmith. but you live anywhere else is difficult to contact him. and another thing in my country as I said that this ammunition is prohibited, because I have no idea
I am assuming those are home loads. I load a 320 grain with 36 grains of h110 powder. The only problem is the empty case after firing gets stuck in the chamber from expanding after firing. Reducing the load gets ride of the problem, but I would rather keep the power. Any suggestions?
I have a Ruger Super redhawk .454 with a 9 1/2" barrel.
I have a 7.5 barrel 454 Casull SRH and noted the same stuck case or sticky case extraction issue when using hot loads. I use W296 (same as as H110 but just under the Winchester instead of the Hodgdon brandname) and case extraction problem occurs when my loads contain near max charge of W296. I switched to Hodgdon Lil'Gun and the problem has gone away. Lil'Gun gives me about the same velocity as W296 with the same weight of bullet and powder charge but at a lower presure level.
@frankgon4 sticking brass can be a result of a dirty gun. I've fired very heavy loads in my super redhawk (buffalo bore 340 grain, 1450 fps) without any issues.
Hey could you tell me what powder and charge are you using in the 335 load. I've started with some 330 cast bullets of my own design and they're to long for the cylinder, do you cast your own or do you use cast performance bullets
If you have 330s that are too long for the cylinder you need to seat them much deeper in the case. There are 500+ grain factory loads that cycle in the SR.
Are these your handloads, or did you buy from Freedom arms because nobody else I've looked at sells Casull ammo with ballistics like that. I must say, even though its size makes it a more unweildly revolver the 460 Smith is capable of pushing a 360 grain bullet to almost 1900 fps. Thats about the power level of the .45-70 they used to use on buffalo

Great video man. That gun is a beast!
Oh and the music ROCKS! Can't go wrong with AC/DC !

The video wasn't bad but the "music" was so screechy & abrasive that I had to turn the volume way down & couldn't hear the information on the ammo.

I'm lovin' the music. I've got a lot of their albums but none have this song. Which album is it off of?
Super redhawks are great. I love mine!
Enjoy!

seemed to me that you miss six shots. I had no idea that there was a six-shot casull .454
trigonome777 2 years ago
Introduced in 1997, the .454 Casull marked a first in that caliber, as it was the first six shot .454 revolver.

Yeah mines only 5...

@wutitdo98 Yeah. The taurus and others are 5 but the super redhawk is a 6 shot when chambered in 454 casull.

How does she compare to a 44 magnum- w/ 240 grains ?any huge differences?
bf3pwner 2 years ago
@bf3pwner the traditional full power factory loading for .44 magnum is a 240 grain bullet at 1450 fps
