Soundtraxx hass the exact sound for this FPH engine but then again Caltrain uses another type of engine and again sountraxx as the sound for that engine as well. I have another video on how to get sound into your engine for cheap.
sorry for the late response but yes I have been working at it slowly but surely its possible but there is a way that it can be done subscribe and find out!!
I will put up a video pretty soon hopefully before December as I didn't build it, a great and loyal member of our club built/engineered it who is 80+ years old! Hopefully i can get video of him on how he built. btw we have two helix's!!
Thanks I been adding on to it and bought 6 cars for it as that is the max that I have seen for one engine to pull/push. right now my cab car is in the process of being lit and to have sound by adding on a MRC sounder, just for the horn, bell and to control the lights. Ill make a full video of it next time i have it on the layout
I know i wasn't looking for anything fancy, plus im on a limited budget, but its just for the cab car, and i like it because it has contacts to light up the car so it does isolating ditch lights. but what can i say full time student, employee, and full time train enthusiast lol
No it wasn't on purpose I dont want my investment to be in pieces for fun lol. I was letting the Cal train run around the layout unattended when someone forgot to set a switch back lol

The engine is a Atheran F59PH Ready to Run like the passenger cars its pulling. You can find these online or at hobby shops if your lucky.
Prototypicaly is not what Caltrain uses its actually a MP40-3C. As of now True Line Trains is making this model in Caltrain colors.

Eew, I'd use a Revolution decoder for the horn in bell, or a digitrax sound bug, MRC sounds suck. It's horns are the worst!
