Ai-Yi-Yi!! My gosh; I've played this video a dozen times tonight, and it sounds better with each repeat. Do you have any idea how talented you really are?? What a voice...
Sounds as good as it did nearly a year ago when I happened across this great cover. I just can't believe that 4 people have hit the dislike button. I really think that YT should remove the thumbs up/down buttons because it seems that to many people miss use them.
may i suggest something else ? your guitar playing is excellent but also try playing a few tunes on karaoke to show what it would sound like with a full band you? be really surprised how many more hits on you tube you might get ..would be kinda nice to hear what you could do with a good background behind you ..you have the voice and looks to move ahead ..you are recognizable in your expression ... stay cincere and humble in your mind thanx
@nsim333 Thanks for all the great feedback! I'd just discovered that song when I recorded this so I think it was fresh and I was able to get into the mood of it with ease. I generally find I prefer enjoying really upbeat tunes as I get into them and have a good time. And now that I do have my own little band, maybe I should post a few more videos... still a 3-piece for now, but I LOVE fiddle. Thanks for the encouragement!
@nsim333 .Not sure that karoke would be right, The backing would need to fit the voice not the other way round. I prefer this rendition to Marty Robbins.
no question about how good you really are .. but you need to move on and get noticed when you sing a sad song ( which is good like this one) that can bring tears to a person it means you reached that persons heart and soul and got their attention then this is where you excel at ..you should pursue that road ..i listened to some of your other songs but this one reached me for sure ..always liked a sad song .check out charlie landbrough on you tube ..your great go for it..really!!
I would love to hear you do some Mickey Newbury songs. :Sweet Memories" is one of my favorites. Vicki Carr and Brenda Lee both did this. I think Sammi Smith did it too. Also, "She Even Woke Me up to Say Goodbye" is a Mickey Newbury song done by Jerry Lee Lewis. These are beautiful songs and just waiting for someone to redo them today. No one writes lyrics or melody like this anymore It's not her heart Lord, It's her mind
You have no idea how much this tune moves me. I keep coming back to play it over and over. I searched for Marty Robbins version but cant find it. For the life of me....I can't imagine it being any better than yours. Not sure I could handle it if it was ! lol
Thank you so much! I didn't know I had it! I went looking through some of my audio music and found it in the midst of an albumwrap of greatest hits. I'd never heard it before. The guy to get it from though would be Tarquin45 here on youtube. He has an extensive collection of Marty Robbins, so I'm sure he must have it somewhere, though maybe not posted yet.
Thanks for the headsup pertaining to Tarquin45's Marty Robbin site. He posted Tomorrow You'll Be Gone immediately and I really enjoyed it. However,I guess you got to my musical pallet (sp?) first and your version remains my favorite. I hope you will post more tunes in the future. Happy Holidays.
VERY BEAUTIFUL WORK! This Is A New One To Me Too And I Gotta Say You Sing And Play This Like It's Your Own, With SO MUCH PASSION! & EMOTION! 5 BIG STARS!
Another great job. You play great and your singing is even better. I look forward to your new songs and enjoy the old ones over and over. Perhaps some gospel ones sometime? The one you wrote was great. heartfelt and moving. I hope the best for you. Have a great day.
One thing your video lacked and I'm not in anyway being critical is the smile that Marty would bring to his performance of a song. Even on the most heartbreaking song Marty would sometimes almost laugh through it and not lose any of the song's emotion.
I am usually harshly critical of anyone on youtube attempting Marty Robbins songs, but I did enjoy your version of what was Marty's first 78 way back in 1952 on Columbia records.

great cover and don't do a karoke version; it cheapens the the song. Keep up the good work.
