@RockStarM3ntality No it was Jin's devil gene that created Azazel not the other way around. Jin received the Devil gene from the mishima bloodline. Meaning his father Kazuya. In tekken 2 when Heihachi was about to throw Kazuya in a volcano the devil's soul split into two parts. One stayed with Kazuya and the other to search for Kazuya's unborn son. He didn't succeed in capturing Jin's body but the spirit of the devil came back and branded that devil's tatoo on jin's arm thus making devil jin.

If you guys ever played Tekken 6 yet, the main reason why he started the World War was to save the world. As long as Azazel was alive, there would be a huge amount of suffering and more people will get the Devil gene. Jin already knew that the only way to summon Azazel was to cause extreme global pain and chaos and he also knew that if he did it, it will end the cursed Mishima bloodline and the Devil gene which means a 50/50 chance of him dying as well. So in short, Jin is still a hero.
