You're so gorgeous, I think you'd make ANY HAIR look good. But this is fabulous. I want this hair SO BADLY. I just fear the lazy days when I know I won't style it.
@dollydesii you have to aim them back while they are still wet. They are trained to lay flat so you'll have to style them away from your face using gel or mousse while they are still wet.
They are pretty hot when they are plugged in, you roll the hair up and pin it in place, and then they cool and the curl sets. They arent the best type of set for an authentic retro look but they are okay. They cost anywhere from 30.00 to 100.00 depending on the set you buy and you can get them at any drugstore or department store.
I just cut my hair according to the regular middy diagram, so it's a bit shorter in the back but no biggy. The problem is, that everyone's videos always skip through the "rolling" part, and I can never figure out in which direction to roll each hair section! I keep experimenting but nothing seems to get the look you just achieved in this video (before you made the victory roll).
I see by other video you have children. How do you manage your time between them and anad your styling? are you a full time mom, or do you work a full time job?Sometimes I really can't style my hair as I'd like to because e son needs his attneiton!
I believe every mother should retain some of herself, in spite of having children. I think Children need to see their mother take pride in her appearance and my boys like watching me! However, I understand that time is an issue...I only do these styling videos once a week and I work here at home full time as a skiptracer for a collection agency. I am home most of the time so when I go out, I like to 'doll up', as they say. I am very routined, in general, so it's not a problem.
I agree with you, and I retain a bit of a time for myself too. Sometimes more than others. I also try to be as practical as I can, if I take too long to pin curl my hair I want it to last a few days so I don't have to spend to much time on it everyday, but still look good. I'm very fond of hair snoods and bandanas for they're the fastest way to hide a messy hair. :D
Absolutely gorgeous! Your new haircut and the tutorials guaranteed to come with it are a godsend for me- my hair is fairly short and very layered, so that I can swap effortlessly (ha) between being a 60s rocker and a 40s lady: very similar to a middy, actually. Your new hair just makes it that much easier for me to tailor styles to my cut! (:
Actually, almost all of my styles can be tailored to hair this length. The 'Rolf Armstrong' style for instance. Check back thru my vids for more ideas. :)
Yes I have. The lighting isnt much better. I'll keep trying different things. It looks like my standby of puttint it facing me from the mirror is the best still...
They hold my hair better than anything else. You simply put them in the opposite direction that you pulled the hair. For instance, if you pull your hair up on the side, like in this vid, you place the comb DOWN to get it to hold.
Thank you so much for these videos - I am hopeless with hair, and your videos are super helpful and well done. :)

They hold my hair better than anything else. You simply put them in the opposite direction that you pulled the hair. For instance, if you pull your hair up on the side, like in this vid, you place the comb DOWN to get it to hold.
