  • All my proud haitians go check my new haitian rap video ..type (macjin uno) thank you all for the supports

  • i miss haiti

  • Musical genius and a lot more. Can somebody translate the words to Yele. The song is incredibly expressive without, but I'd love to know. I take it Yele is more or less untranslatable, a cross of freedom and triumph and winning through a struggle.

  • @aprilglaspieable The chorus: Shout, Scream, The people are asking if things will ever change! If you have ears, listen! If you have mouth, talk! Because if you dont do either, our country will sink like a boat filled with refugees! So be righteous and save your soul.

Technically its a conscience tune telling our people to stop all the fighting and killing. To love one another and that together we will make it. But it's pretty deep. It's actually one of my favorites from Wyclef!

  • @aprilglaspieable

Yele means shout, Kriye means to cry or to scream.

  • Musical genius and a lot more.

  • m.a.s973 et wyclef jean j'aime tros c son respecte haiti

  • @dahiddentruth ou pa gen anyen kow estipid ou

  • God Bless Wyclef Jean, and everyone like him still in love with his people after making it big, the world needs more like him. Haiti is a place like much the world, it needs help. How much worst will God look at us Christians who can and don't go to help, but rather just sit back and talk down to them and about them, don't be a pharisee.

Don't worry Haiti God hears when you cry, all will be well one day, I'm praying for you.

  • J'adore cette chanson, mais à quoi sert Lauryn ce sur clip??! lol

  • FUCK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!! assholes like you think they know everything when you don't know shit .You don't know anything about Haiti or anything about vodou . keep it going or i'll vodou your ass myself

  • bon bagay nettt

  • this song is truly a beautiful song! It brings tears to my eyes & it's the truth

  • @dahiddentruth that sounds 100% unrealistic,but i want to beleive is true.

  • @dahiddentruth yo this is crazy. haitians and jamaicans are both from the same place. why is one benjamin and one levite? don't try to use some shit in the bible to explain what's happening in haiti. it won't lead you anywhere

  • 9 people don't like super slow motion lightning strikes

  • This is when Wyclef was the man

  • @chachoochi he still the man

  • @dahiddentruth are u really sure man? i mean i've heard about that before . how come haitian people r hebrew israelite?

  • @ALBEJE90 I'm absolutely positive. It's all in the scriptures. Deuteronomy 28 list the curses that would fall on the true Hebrew Israelites. No other nation fits the curses but the so-call blacks, N. American Indians, and Latinos. Type in "The Twelve Lost Tribes Found" and you'll get a complete breakdown of the 12 Tribes of Israel & who they are. The people that's in the land of Israel today are not the real Jews. They're converts. The ones that are the lowest on the earth are the chosen people.

  • cool song

  • He's (rarely) singing in english but mostly in "créole". It's a language close to the french and declined from it, but even french people generally don't understand "créole".

  • He's (rarely) singing in english but mostly in "créole". It's a language close to the french and declined from it, but even french people generally don't understand "créole".

  • @kipsmiiling French Creole is a mix of French and Western African Dialect created so that the slaves on present day Haiti could understand each other

  • My girl friend in high school use to play this song to me lol.

  • oui ça ressemble vraiment le français

    really sounds like french

  • Yell, Yell, Yell

    Cry, Cry, Cry,

    The People Are Asking

When Is It Going To Change?

  • @crk3232 is that the actual translation? i've been looking everywhere but to no success. thank you, this is such a beautiful song and its great to be able to know what he is saying.

  • @bumpinbisco18 I was told the word Yele has no real translation - more of an idea. A shout for the poor and oppressed peoples of Haiti and the world. The last part can also be translated as "when is the hour/time for change?" Creole is a mix of Mostly classic French and various African languages, with a touch of Spanish and Taino, which was the language of the native tribe of "Indians."

  • yele pou ayiti

  • this is album is one of the best

  • mmm never seen this video...where it been at

  • If you have ears, listen.

    Haiti seek God, again.

  • I love this song although I have no idea what he's saying; it's just a peaceful song. This was one of my favorite songs off that album, this and Mona Lisa.

Si é pas ? a, pays en li va coulé.

  • @isakdick

    If you have ears, listen.

If you have a mouth, speak.

If you don't have those, (?)

When your boat is full of refugees.

I don't speak creole either but I speak French and it is very similar.

Take your sorry ass to the Cave where you belong. Haitians are descendants of Africa. Where do you (SeIIMYASSDOTCOM came from? Remember to stay away from people you don't like. Ignorance is a curs. • @sebsdberbbbbjgb what does the illuminati have to do with any of this.........? Were tryin to help our people not point the finger.....

  • @sebsdberbbbbjgb conspiracy theory much?

  • Hip Hop artist Wyclef Jean is urging people to donate $5 to his Haitian charity, Yéle Haiti, by texting "YELE" to 501501. (The donation will be automatically charged to your cellphone bill.) His is one of many Haiti earthquake relief efforts underway.

  • Keep this posted to Youtube for christ's sake... Haiti has a proud beautiful history, with a proud beautiful people. Earthquakes are geologically natural, but social mass death due to huts and no infrastructure is NOT NATURAL. It's political and man-made. Viva Haiti. Libertad por Haiti.

  • this is one of my FAVORITE songs EVER !!!!!! thanks Clef :-D

  • Yélé, yélé, yélé...

    Crié, crié, crié...

  • prayers go out to haiti

  • se vre wi

  • Beautiful.....

  • i dont understand anything this cats sayin, but its still wyclef and its still soothing music either way, sometimes music doesnt need to be understood just heard. get what im sayin

  • he's singing in creole??

  • yep!!!

Basically an anthem to Haitians reminding them to use God's gifts wisely.

  • he talk for peolpe try to find god . cause every people asking when thats will changed. lol but you right we dont need to understand we feel what the message he try to pass

  • que chimba!!!!!!!!!!!!! temazo

  • i have absolutely no idea what he is saying, but i love this track, lol, i be hummin the words but i have no clue what he is saying!

  • you should study the lyrics...i think it would worth the time you took..im french and i looked for the words in creol that i didnt know..

  • I have always wondered if French people can understand Creole. Its like here in America if you listen to English Pidgen from some of the west indies, you get the jist of it, but not everything. Is that about the same?

  • I don't think so, we only can understand a word or two, and the words we understand may not even be correct in the situation (because there are a lot of expression that we don't know, so we think they are talking about horses (because he said horse) but it's part of an expression), so I'd say most french people couldn't even understand what the song is about.. But some can understand a little bit (like I did)...

  • thatnks for the information. I figured there was too much African and Native influence on the language to make it that understandable to most Francophones. Thanks again.

  • In the chorus:

    If you have ears...hear

    If have a mouth...speak

If you don't...then our country will drown like a boat full of refugees, Haitians seek God again

The whole theme of the song is how corruption, violence and poverty are destroying Haiti as a country. At the end he's asking when things will change.

I like this song too, it's a great song with a powerful message

    Peace :)

  • he is basically saying to give attention with the ear, like to pay attention and listen....and if you have a mouth state your opinion and speak on human freedom, liberty, and proverty in haiti.

  • @KBoogs719 hehe same here. Ive been listening to this song for over a decade and have no idea what he is saying. Beautiful song.
