@aprilglaspieable The chorus: Shout, Scream, The people are asking if things will ever change! If you have ears, listen! If you have mouth, talk! Because if you dont do either, our country will sink like a boat filled with refugees! So be righteous and save your soul.
Technically its a conscience tune telling our people to stop all the fighting and killing. To love one another and that together we will make it. But it's pretty deep. It's actually one of my favorites from Wyclef!
God Bless Wyclef Jean, and everyone like him still in love with his people after making it big, the world needs more like him. Haiti is a place like much the world, it needs help. How much worst will God look at us Christians who can and don't go to help, but rather just sit back and talk down to them and about them, don't be a pharisee.
Don't worry Haiti God hears when you cry, all will be well one day, I'm praying for you.

@dahiddentruth yo this is crazy. haitians and jamaicans are both from the same place. why is one benjamin and one levite? don't try to use some shit in the bible to explain what's happening in haiti. it won't lead you anywhere
@ALBEJE90 I'm absolutely positive. It's all in the scriptures. Deuteronomy 28 list the curses that would fall on the true Hebrew Israelites. No other nation fits the curses but the so-call blacks, N. American Indians, and Latinos. Type in "The Twelve Lost Tribes Found" and you'll get a complete breakdown of the 12 Tribes of Israel & who they are. The people that's in the land of Israel today are not the real Jews. They're converts. The ones that are the lowest on the earth are the chosen people.

The last part can also be translated as "when is the hour/time for change?" Creole is a mix of Mostly classic French and various African languages, with a touch of Spanish and Taino, which was the language of the native tribe of "Indians."

Nice track , we got a reason to hear on this , Haiti earthquake just killed haiti ! STAY STRONG !! KEEP IT UP ! WE'LL CREATE A NEW HAITI ! SI OU GIN ZOREIL TENDÉ OU GIN BOUCHE PALÉ!
the illuminati had created that so called ''earthquake'' they have the technology to do so. People let's stop being brainwashed on what the news reports, who owns most of the television beiing brought into our homes? it's the rothchilds(illuminati members)
Hip Hop artist Wyclef Jean is urging people to donate $5 to his Haitian charity, Yéle Haiti, by texting "YELE" to 501501. (The donation will be automatically charged to your cellphone bill.) His is one of many Haiti earthquake relief efforts underway.
Keep this posted to Youtube for christ's sake... Haiti has a proud beautiful history, with a proud beautiful people. Earthquakes are geologically natural, but social mass death due to huts and no infrastructure is NOT NATURAL. It's political and man-made. Viva Haiti. Libertad por Haiti.
i dont understand anything this cats sayin, but its still wyclef and its still soothing music either way, sometimes music doesnt need to be understood just heard. get what im sayin
he talk for peolpe try to find god . cause every people asking when thats will changed. lol but you right we dont need to understand we feel what the message he try to pass
I have always wondered if French people can understand Creole. Its like here in America if you listen to English Pidgen from some of the west indies, you get the jist of it, but not everything. Is that about the same?
I don't think so, we only can understand a word or two, and the words we understand may not even be correct in the situation (because there are a lot of expression that we don't know, so we think they are talking about horses (because he said horse) but it's part of an expression), so I'd say most french people couldn't even understand what the song is about.. But some can understand a little bit (like I did)...
thatnks for the information. I figured there was too much African and Native influence on the language to make it that understandable to most Francophones. Thanks again.
he is basically saying to give attention with the ear, like to pay attention and listen....and if you have a mouth state your opinion and speak on human freedom, liberty, and proverty in haiti.
Manman rele (Mothers are screaming) Men kadav paka tande (but cadavers do't hear) Zenglendo pase (The thugs came by) Mwen tande blow, blow, blow (I heard blow, blow) Si'w gen zorey.... Mwen konn yon Ayisyen (I know a Haitian) Ki t'ap vann marijuana (who was selling marijuana) Polis te kenbe'l (the police caught him) Li di se poutet manman'l te gen kanse (He said it's cuz his mother had cancer) Li pat gen lajan (He had no money) Kounya li nan prizon (Now he's in prison)
(cont.4) Igwaz nan bouda'w tankou cheval k'ap pran fret (Whippings in your ass like a horse that's taking a beating) Tande (listen) Menm nan legliz, ou pran fret (even in church, you take beatings) Poukisa (why?) Politisyen pa vle tande pret (Polticians don't want to hear priests) Yele, yele, yele (yell, yell, yell) Kriye, kriye, kriye (cry, cry, cry) Pep la ap mande (The people are asking) Kile sa va chanje? Hip Hop artist Wyclef Jean is urging people to donate $5 to his Haitian charity, Yéle Haiti, by texting "YELE" to 501501. (The donation will be automatically charged to your cellphone bill.) His is one of many Haiti earthquake relief efforts underway.
hudson2441 2 years ago
Keep this posted to Youtube for christ's sake... Haiti has a proud beautiful history, with a proud beautiful people. Earthquakes are geologically natural, but social mass death due to huts and no infrastructure is NOT NATURAL. It's political and man-made. Viva Haiti. Libertad por Haiti.

you should study the lyrics...i think it would worth the time you took..im french and i looked for the words in creol that i didnt know..
tipibo 2 years ago
I have always wondered if French people can understand Creole. Its like here in America if you listen to English Pidgen from some of the west indies, you get the jist of it, but not everything. Is that about the same?
donaldeasterling 2 years ago
I don't think so, we only can understand a word or two, and the words we understand may not even be correct in the situation (because there are a lot of expression that we don't know, so we think they are talking about horses (because he said horse) but it's part of an expression), so I'd say most french people couldn't even understand what the song is about.. But some can understand a little bit (like I did)...
tipibo 2 years ago 2
thatnks for the information. I figured there was too much African and Native influence on the language to make it that understandable to most Francophones. Thanks again.

In the chorus:
If you have ears...hear
If have a mouth...speak
If you don't...then our country will drown like a boat full of refugees, Haitians seek God again
The whole theme of the song is how corruption, violence and poverty are destroying Haiti as a country. At the end he's asking when things will change.
I like this song too, it's a great song with a powerful message
Peace :)

he is basically saying to give attention with the ear, like to pay attention and listen....and if you have a mouth state your opinion and speak on human freedom, liberty, and proverty in haiti.

Si'w gen zorey, tande (If you have ears, listen)
Si'w gen bouch, pale (If you have a mouth, speak)
Si e pa sa, peyi an li va koule (If not, the country is going to sink)
Tankou yon bato ki plen refije (Like a boat that's full of refugees)
Si nou pa chache Bondye (If we don't seek God out)
Anko (Again)....Chorus repeats
10,000 sekey (10,000 coffins)
Gade, tout se timoun (Look, they're all kids)
Pe ap kriye (The priests are crying)
Men yo pap resisite (but they won't be rescucitated)

(cont. 2)
Pou konbyen tan? (For how long?)
L'ap pale'm de revolision (He's talking to me about a revolution)
San solisyon (without solutions)
Men polis yo te pase (But the police came by)
Mwen te tande blow, blow, blow (I heard blow, blow)
Chorus...
Depi mwen piti, mwen te konn li Jenez (Since I was young, I read Genesus)
Mwen bokse avekk Satan tankou mwen bokse ak Chavez (I box with Satan like I box with Chavez)
Men gen de le, lespri mwen feb (But sometimes, my spirit gets weak)...

cont. 3) Mwen di poukisa politisyen yo fimen zeb? (I ask why the politicians are smoking weed)
M'ap atake ou kankou yon gep, poukisa? (I'm attacking you like a wasp, why?)
Paske ou pa konn fe bon zev (Because you don't how to do good)
Mwen konnen yon politisyen yo rele Maleb (I know a politician named Maleb)
Male avek ou si w' teste Maleb (Watch your back if you test Maleb)
