  • Nice shooting but no inspiration. You just transposed The NoF doujin of Abe Yoshitoshi and said it's "inspired". It'as a fuckin copy. It's visually cool but poorly inspired. You should have kept the character of Lain and the doujin content to truly adapt them on a real short-movie

  • where can i get this translated or with spanish sub dude?

  • @angelldarko well there's only a french-subtitled version available

  • @gummoguy what about full english, i mean audio and subtitles?

  • @angelldarko you can read the english dialogs by reading the manga " the nightmare of fabrication". You can find it on google.

  • That was awesome, i am a huge fan of Lain, it changed my life. you did a really good job on this, i love how you added Nevada tan too.

  • I enjoyed this, SEL was amazing and this was good, I really enjoyed how Nevada-tan was added in.

  • Fuck Real Life, Fuck Reality.

    /thread

  • You know, I went in and started watching this thinking I wouldn't like it. (So why did I? I'm not sure. Compulsory, I guess?)

I did like it though :o Usually english in Japanese concepts is really off-putting for me, but in your case it just needed some 'getting used-to', if that makes sense ^_^

    Good job! Also, Nevada-tan~

  • I came.

  • why is this so relatable?

  • Only 3366 replays, what a shame, even yoshitoshi ABe liked your film.

    Great Job.

  • My name is yoshitoshi ABe. Thank you. I'm very glad.

  • other than that i love this short

  • the only problome is no real cyber punk wuold let that much dust build up on their system

  • @killernat True, let's say the character is just lazy

  • You should submit this to the Vimeo Festival + Awards. David Lynch is judging the "experimental" category.

  • Interesting.

  • Why not mention the inspiration from Serial Experimental Lain

  • @vietpridewoldwide He did, the nightmare of fabrication is a Lain manga.

  • A mesmerizing piece! It possesses an eerie charm that couldn't be recreated with a huge budget or straight-forward screenplay. I found the Sasebo reference to be especially chilling. Damn it, now I'm intrigued by the idea of what you would create with Sasebo as the central inspiration...

  • Present day. PRESENT TIME! AHAHAHA....

  • As a writer I'm overflowed with feelings I have to put down on paper after having watched this. Regarding things on the screen, only a few select things manages to grasp my heart so much. So I say this: You better make it in life, so that you can give the world movies that are masterpieces! For I truly believe that you can do that, if you continue as this. Cheers!

  • very paranoia agent and lain like

  • it acctualy quotes lain

  • wow! thanks for sharing GG

  • That was awesome!

    Thanks for sharing.

  • congrats.. this sure is one of the better no-budget shorts on yourube. upload it to vimeo, as it has better quality and a more involved community.

  • I love it. I would've never believed to see "The Nightmare of Fabrication" as a movie, one that is so good, too. It really got that 'lain feeling' to it.

  • great film!

  • you should show it abe he has a youtubeacc.

  • a great masterpiec!

  • Brilliant!

  • No budget and it's still a million times better than anything David Lynch has come up with.

  • Excellent job. Professionally done with a decent amount of Lain goodness.

  • Helll, chils are on my back...really good movie...Serial Experiments Lain are really close to this....hell...but cool. :)

  • Incredible! That was truly amazing, I love the dark atmosphere in Serial Experiments Lain and you've captured it perfectly. I love it.
