hey man nice mods.. I got a few questions... Is it a mexican.. and was it hard to put those pickup's in? I plan on getting a turtle shell pickguard for my p bass, with a slotted badass 2 bridge and some spb-3 quarter pounders and it should be completely modded
wow, I found this because I was looking for a video that had that pickup, and of all the songs you play, its Carousel, which I just learned 5 minutes ago lol. And btw that's a really sweet bass :)
@diamonddust22 the P Bass is the one that started it all man. They call it precision for a reason because it was the first to have frets. I wish that person knew their history before talking like an idiot. Not to mention that the P Bass and the Jazz bass are both the standard when it comes to Basses period They both started the electric bass movement. Fenders are genuine guitars
@diamonddust22 man its not only art man its history. I personally own a P Bass and its the only bass I would need. Sure I love Ernie Ball MM5 but in the end I pick up the Fender and love it. I believe Fender had it right the first time and that's the way it should be. They got it so right on that every bass company copies their split P or Jazz pickup style. Fender is probably the most versatile bass company there is. From Jazz to Heavy metal, you see Fender anywhere you go.
Sounds awesome. How do you like the new Seymour Duncans compared to your old ones? I've been building a custom bass, and the pickups I'm using is the Billysheehan willpower in the neck, and the Seymour Duncans in the centre. The bass is going to growl. I also have a black Bass Ass 2 bridge to go along with it. I've been building this bass for about 2-1/2 years, and finally it's done and all I have to do now is the Electronic. Have an amazing day, great vid bro.
This is my new account, and the tone is a lot better compared to the stock ones. The stock ones do have a more woody sound but the duncs just surpass them in every way.
Hey thanks for the info. Yes I love them as well. I love the older more rounder sound. Not much into that jazzy fart sound you get from a bridge pickup.
the video i was looking for! i play bass and im buying this bass (i want this bass for so long) and i played it only couple of times and was amazed but i kinda forgot how the treble tone sounded exactly cuz i got confused with the music man but i prefer this one!
well imo, my favorite setup is a p bass wit h P bass middle pickup and jazz bass bridge pickup best of both worlds. never was really into the Jazz bass's middle pickup, sounds too clean and thin. P bass pickup is bright but not thin, nice midrange growl, ntm huge bottom end. the j bass PU at the bridge is nice and growly with farting mids, good for jaco stuff, and just turn up both PUs for that great snappy, mid scooped sound that everyone craves. ;)
lmao!! chewyclit! best youtube name ever!!

Sounds like a set of roundwound Rotosounds (40, 60, 80, 100) wouldn't be a disaster tonally

@zabuza182 Yes very true. A big advocate of the Fender P, is Steve Harris. His sound is unmistakable.

You can't beat the original.

i got a stock squier p bass, would these spb-3 pickups be worth the price for the upgrade?
urmothasawhore123 2 years ago

Which did u think wass better, the american j bass or american p bass
LastMenStandingband 3 years ago
I love them both so much. But I have to go with the P for the simplicity and great tone.
chewyclit11 3 years ago
personally id go for the jazz because its more versatile, my ideal bass i suppose would b a p-bass body and neck with j-bass pickups
TheRealVolanaro 3 years ago
Yeah man, Jazz's have a great sound and I bet a lot more people like the Jazz instead of a P. And I'm beginning to feel the same.
I just love plugging in my p bass and playing, only a tone knob.
chewyclit11 3 years ago
yh ive still got my old squier p bass at home somewhere, been thinkin bout getttin a fender jazz or a rick 4 some time, or maybe a warwick
TheRealVolanaro 3 years ago
Sounds like you need a P-bass Special.
KongoXIIV 3 years ago
yh, ive seen em b4, although recently ive fallen in love with musicman stingrays, theyre unbelievably versatile for a one pickup instrument!

Very versatile, although I find they sound very thin... maybe thats just me
